Chapter 313: Chapter 64: Misfortunes and Blessings are Hard to Predict_ 1
Liu Zhenhan was sitting on the throne of Goblin King Deco III, who had died in the battlefield, looking down at the surrounding goblins with a face of pleasure.
The throne was made of a black stone as a base, smooth as jade, adorned with peculiar patterns and elemental fluctuations. It was a piece of the renowned "Obsidian Destroyer" from when the Demon Clan invaded the Aegean Continent en masse. On it remained fragments from the Ancient Power Fire Gun, still embedded to this day. The Goblin King added bronze handles into it and crafted it into his throne, a symbol of the Goblin Clan’s past glory.
Now, that glory was trampled under Liu Zhenhan’s feet.
The house was grand and imposing, serving as the goblins’ church for collecting masses. It was also the Goblin King’s sleeping quarters. The large house was made purely of the biggest logs, the high dome and walls were decorated with deer horns and hides, giving it a rugged yet wild taste. Next to the throne were several large bronze vases filled with Mountain Wormwood flowers, adding a touch of warmth to the room.
The Fairy Dragon stood silently by the side, while Avril seemed to be in a daze, only knowing how to grin foolishly, occasionally bursting into a coughing fit.
Militiamen were rummaging through boxes searching thoroughly.
A group of goblin warriors stood by, looking with lost souls at the rude men rummaging for treasures while they themselves grew cold. Upon seeing the giant crane that could even bring down a Fei Wenli Python, their courage was gradually freezing along with their body temperature.
The Giant Crane, with Guoguo on its back, stood beside Liu Zhenhan’s throne, occasionally preening its feathers and watching the militia men run riot.
"Why... why can the magical beast use the spirit communication war song?" The Fairy Dragon mumbled this question under her breath.
"Want to know why?" Liu Zhenhan looked at her with a smile.
"If you don’t tell me why, I will die unsatisfied." The Fairy Dragon bit her lip, her face pale as a sheet.
"I could tell you, but you have to promise me that whatever I ask you, you have to answer honestly. Swear on your god, and don’t keep anything from me!" Liu Zhenhan said forcefully. "I promise!" Without any hesitation, the Fairy Dragon solemnly swore in the name of Dragon God Haibo.
"Let me tell you why." Liu Zhenhan unbuckled his double-layered armor, revealing his muscular body. He took out a war song scroll from the leopard skin strap on his shoulder and showed it off in his hand. "It’s because of this."
"What is this magical wooden scroll exactly?"
"This is the War Song Scroll, a unique creation by Bimon Kingdom’s most wise lord, the second Dragon Priest in history!" Liu Zhenhan stared at the now-dazed Fairy Dragon, his expression serious.
"Dragon Priest?" The surrounding goblins were sweating nervously.
"You’re a Beamon priest? A Dragon Priest? A War Song Scroll? Since when can the Beamon War song be made into a scroll?" The Fairy Dragon was completely confused. "I can sense a strong dragon’s breath from you. Where’s your giant dragon magical pet?
"You hit the nail on the head." Liu Zhenhan casually lit a cigar, speaking leisurely. "I, the lord, am an unparalleled genius. I invented the War Song Scroll. Normally only I should be able to use it..."
"Then why can it..." The Fairy Dragon impatiently interrupted feeling a little too late, pointing to Guoguo, who was helping with the Giant Crane’s grooming and couldn’t even think of an appropriate term to refer to Guoguo, finally settling on ’it’ as a vague label. "Why can ’it’ use the Spirit Communication War Song Scroll to tame the Giant Crane, and incidentally... tame me as well?"
"First, light my cigar." Liu Zhenhan casually pointed to the stiff feature on his face.
The Fairy Dragon obediently found a flint stone, helping the Lord, filled with complacency, to light up his excessively large cigar.
"My dragon pet died in the early years of our adventure. That dragon was a descendant of the mysterious Far Eastern Giant Dragon!" Liu Zhenhan wiped away a false tear in his eyes, sighing deeply.
"No wonder your dragon breath isn’t violent, but rather peaceful, similar to ours in the Aegean Continent, yet it’s also a bit different." The Fairy Dragon nodded.
"Guoguo and I, for some special reason, inherited the dragon breath of that dragon pet. You can liken my War Song Scroll to a locked treasure and my unique dragon breath as the key to the lock. Without the dragon’s breath as a key, no one can use my War Song Scroll. The only one in this world who has the same dragon’s breath as me is Guoguo. The way to use my self-made War Song Scroll is quite simple; it only requires a slight tear to summon the War Song Halo, so Guoguo can conveniently use it, and coincidentally, it happened that at this moment, Guoguo and the brave Giant Crane had hit it off. Who can explain destiny? Unfortunately, the only Spirit Communication War Song Scroll that I made was in Guoguo’s belly bag and happened to be used by her, and you were communicating mentally with this Giant Crane using the power of the ’Emerald Dream’, hence the Soul Contract managed to handy directly bind you too."
"How did I encounter so many coincidences?" The Fairy Dragon let out a heart-wrenching scream.
