Chapter 303: Chapter 60 Behind the Scenes_3

On the parapet, the Goblin warriors were desperately sniping at him using their spears and bows and arrows. Their weapons and armour clanked against each other, and their palms went numb as Liu Zhenhan prepared to climb upward.

An azure halo blossomed gloriously behind him, from the Starry Sky Gate, a fully-equipped Avril jumped down from the Water Element. Before she even got there, she had already shouted, "Let me deal with this!"

With the sound of a clamshell being crushed, a large "Water Blade Storm" spun with the air, buzzing and dancing chaotically on the parapet. A line of Goblin warriors, still gnashing their teeth, pulling their bows open, and brandishing their spears were suddenly swept away by these water blades. The sound of sharp blades piercing through bodies was continuous, and blood sprayed all over the barricade, trickling down. Liu Zhenhan slipped on the wooden stakes he was stepping on, landing hard on his buttocks. The ground beneath him was trembling.

"Why have you come?" Liu Zhenhan was genuinely overwhelmed.

"I’m here to help you!" The mermaid confidently opened another magic clamshell scroll, and a semi-circular Wave Shield appeared above her head. The Water Element in the dual cultivation barrier helped her to block some of the darts thrown from the watchtower by Liu.

Another pale blue light shot forth, hitting several Goblin warriors who were wielding their homemade crossbows on the arrow tower. They were thrown backward, crashing heavily into the support columns of the arrow tower. The watchtower made a loud clattering noise, the thatch roof collapsed onto their blood-gushing bodies.

Mages are indeed mages! Liu Zhenhan couldn’t help but admire Avril’s skills in medium to long-range combat; she was quicker than his combination of music and martial prowess.

"Enough!" An individual cloaked in a cape suddenly appeared on the parapet of the barricade, blocking a water arrow that was directed at the Goblin warriors. The sharp and crystal-clear water arrow hit her and immediately turned into a puddle.

"Magic absorption or Magic Immunity?" Liu Zhenhan was taken aback, hurriedly used his body to shield Avril. If this mysterious caped female was indeed a formidable figure and could kill Avril in a split second, they would be truly doomed.

"Magic-Immunity, my ass!" Avril fearlessly stepped forward, "She’s just a human Space Magician, at most, she may have a few pieces of anti-magic gear. When I was home, I had countless such pieces that I didn’t even bring with me! Why would a mage be immune to magic? Let me test her abilities first!"

"Wait!" The woman in the cape had an icy glint in her eyes. Slowly, she asked, word by word: "Why do you have to corner each other so brutally? Even if the Razor Mountain Goblins have offended you, is it necessary for you to eradicate them?"

"Robbers deserve to die!" Avril snorted with a hint of disdain. "Is this even a question? You are a mage, yet you mingle with robbers unashamedly!"

"Robbers?" The woman in the cloak continued with her hauntingly beautiful voice, her tone was somber and sad, "Who crossed the Sanggan River into the Southern Wilderness?"

"Who has relentlessly exterminated the natives here?"

"Did you believe that you could forcibly take away other people’s habitats for your survival? Do you reckon your slaughters are the medals of your warriors while the Goblins, the natives who have been living in the wilderness for generations, are just mere slaughter lambs?"

"No one was born wanting to be a robber! Are there no robbers among the Beamons? Are all Beamons good? The Beamons, who came to Razor Mountain to exterminate goblins with warriors, are they qualified to accuse the Goblins of being robbers?"

"If the gods who control life had decided to make you Goblins instead, what would you do when faced with invaders? Would you choose to live a humiliating life? Or die with glory?"

The words of the woman in the cloak struck like lightning, leaving Avril and Liu Zhenhan speechless.

This was indeed a difficult question to answer. Liu Zhenhan never expected that this cloaked woman was so eloquent.

"If a conflict is inevitable, then use Razor Mountain as the brightest badge on your medals!" The woman in the cloak pointed at Avril, "Are mages invincible? Was magic created for slaughter? Dear Water Element Mage, use your powers to challenge me and let’s see who has the true power to speak!"

"Just try!" Avril’s temper flared again; she crushed a Magic Clamshell Scroll and began rapidly chanting an intricate incantation. An attack known as the ’Surging Slash’ began to form in the air, resembling a giant axe blade, whizzed toward the cloaked woman.

The "Surging Slash" is a top-tier offensive spell in water magic for duels. It’s powerful and forceful. Even if the opponent possesses magical equipment, they may not dare take it head-on.

If it weren’t for the Magic Clamshell Scroll assisting the mermaid, a natural-born water mage, who could summon it so quickly! Avril has been practicing hard recently, and with the Spring of Elements always with her, she wasn’t afraid of consuming magic power. Whether it was a mysterious woman in a cloak, or if a renowned master magician from the human world came, the fiery-tempered Avril would not fear them.
