Chapter 275: Chapter 52 Accidental Encounter_3

The old Green Demon waved his staff around, acting as if nothing was wrong even though he dared not use his own power of intention. He was still picking out pieces of glass embedded in his flesh from the previous explosion.

Liu Zhenhan saw right through him and slapped him across the face.

The old Green Demon straightened up and obediently tried using his power of intention.

But it was in vain.

"Damn it! All that effort for nothing!" Liu Zhenhan slouched back down onto a chair with a great sigh, causing the bamboo chair to creak under his weight.

The three Green Demons cowered away, afraid that in a fit of rage, this Overlord wouldn’t recognize his own family.

A moment of silence ensued.

Liu Zhenhan sulked by himself, frustrated that the method he had long pondered to create a War Song Staff turned out to be useless.

Were there really that many mysteries between elemental powers? Liu Zhenhan pondered deeply.

Seeing the pathetic state of the three Green Demon Shamans, Liu Zhenhan grew more and more displeased. He grabbed a staff off the table, snapped it in two with a crack, and threw it at the three cringing Green Demons.

Even without using dragon power, the pair of broken sticks hit one of the Green Demon Shamans hard enough to make him groan and fall to the ground.

The most bizarre thing of the year in the Aegean Continent happened.

The fresh blood of the magical beast on the broken cherry wood shaft ignited with a loud bang. Liu Zhenhan immediately threw himself on the ground out of instinct.

No explosion followed. Instead, the blood from the broken staff skyrocketed, merging into an eggplant-coloured halo that spilled out in all directions, engulfing the three Green Demon Shamans.

The Slow-witted Song! It was the slow effect of the "Patience of Jiang Song". Instantly, the bodies of the three Green Demon Shamans turned grape purple, like ridiculous puppet people. Even their breath became deep gasps. They stared at each other, their faces tensing in slow motion.

The spreading purple halo also engulfed Liu Zhenhan, but the surging and familiar elemental power within the evil halo resonated strangely with his song power, leaving him unharmed.

"Is this how a staff supposed to be used?" Liu Zhenhan was stunned for a while before he burst out laughing, "So I didn’t invent an instant activation staff! I invented a grenade War Song Scroll!"

Driven by the incredible sense of achievement and innovation, Liu Zhenhan threw himself into imagining hordes of War Song Scrolls, forgetting about time, forgetting about everything else.

When Gortani came looking for him, she stood in front of him for a long time, yet he didn’t notice her.

It was only when Gortani coughed loudly that he realized someone else was in the cave with him.

"What’s up?" Liu Zhenhan continued working on his carving without missing a beat as he spoke.

"I..." Gortani began, but hesitated, her face turning red before she had even finished her sentence.

"You’re acting strange today," said Liu Zhenhan.

"Can you...give the feather back to me?" Gortani seemed to gather a lot of courage to say this, her voice growing fainter as she spoke.

"Thank you so much," Liu Zhenhan replied, pulling the pure white feather out of his sleeve and handing it back to Gortani with a smile.

A resplendent azure boundary unfurled behind Liu Zhenhan, composed of swirling water elements. Avril, riding on Water Element Liu’s back, stepped out of the boundary, a cup of milk and some potato pancakes in her hand. She placed them on the table, saying "Hot...hot... Richard, take these."

Gortani, her hand outstretched to take the feather, was startled. She stood, staring at Avril who had appeared as if from nowhere.

Avril also froze at the sight of Gortani, her face reddening uncontrollably, and she nearly spilled the milk.

Liu Zhenhan turned around to see what happened and jumped in surprise himself.

"Avril! How did you get here?" The cherry wood shaft fell noisily from Liu Zhenhan’s hand. He stared at Avril, his mouth agape, as if he’d seen a ghost.

"The barrier..." Avril replied shyly, her face a captivating shade of red.

Although Avril’s voice was barely audible, even less so than the buzzing of a mosquito, Gortani had heard her. Her face flushed as she lowered her gaze to the hem of her dress, fiddling with the fabric nervously. Her hands shook.

"So it’s the Starry Sky Gate." Liu Zhenhan closed his eyes to take in the feeling, a sudden understanding become clear. He was so busy carving the War Song Scrolls that he completely forgot to inquire about the evolution of the thousand-layered barrier he was always thinking about.

"We can cross through the ’Starry Sky Gate’ to each other’s side, transcending the obstacles of space." Avril shyly handed Liu Zhenhan the milk and pancake, her eyes downcast.

"I don’t really like drinking milk, next time leave it for Guoguo and Katusha." Liu Zhenhan frowned, picking up the Cherry Wood Scroll from the ground and glancing at the milk.

Both girls fell silent, their heads bowed low, creating a delicate atmosphere.

"Knight, do you drink?" Liu Zhenhan asked Gortani.

"No... uh... thanks... uh... I have to go..." Gortani nervously snatched the feather and scrambled out of the pit house.

"She’ll never be able to lift her head in front of me in this life... haha..." Looking at Gortani’s retreating figure, Liu Zhenhan cracked a wicked smile, took a gulp of milk, smacked his lips and said, "Added a raw egg again."

"It’s from the goose’s stomach yesterday." Avril looked sideways at Gortani’s departure, immediately brightening up with a sweet smile, then her face became serious again: "By the way! What was that little hoof Gortani here for?"

"Damn! What could she do? She’s not trying to have a secret rendezvous with me, is she?" Liu Zhenhan rolled his eyes.

"Let me tell you, if you dare cheat, the ’Starry Sky Gate’ between us will allow me to catch you in no time!" Avril said, pinching Liu Zhenhan’s nose as she laughed.

"I wish! But I suppose in the eyes of the swan, I’m no different from a pile of cow dung, right?" Liu Zhenhan laughed heartily, wrapping his arms around Avril’s slender waist.

"Yeah, sure, I’m off, you do your thing. Once you’re done, take a nap, you haven’t slept for two days." Avril quickly shoved him away, her three green demons were watching, it was embarrassing for Avril.

After Avril left, Liu Zhenhan busied himself again for half a day, didn’t even eat the lunch brought over by Ning Yu, it was pitiful for the three green demon shamans, they had to go hungry with him.

He carved another twenty ’Slow-witted Song’ Cherry Wood Scrolls in half a day. Seeing the three green demon shamans starved to the bone, two of them even wounded, Liu Zhenhan finally stopped working.

Liu Zhenhan found Ning Yu, and had her sew a leopard hide strap with five full rows of pockets, stuffing all the dozens of War Song Scrolls into them.

The civilians actually did have similar pockets strapped to their legs, but they were filled with sand for weighted running.

All the citizens of Fei Lengcui came to watch the spectacle, and the eccentric appearance of the Overlord caused an uproar.

Some said that this must be a new fashion invented by the boss, truly debonair.

Others insisted that this was a new armor made by the boss. Putting it on, one would appear heroic and invincible, impervious to weaponry.

Liu Zhenhan looked at himself, and no matter how he looked at it, he felt foolish.

Guoguo tilted his head to one side, looking at Liu Zhenhan for a long time from the huge pocket in the leopard skin.

"Do you want one to play with too?" Liu Zhenhan petted the little beast’s head with a grin.

Guoguo nodded vigorously.

Liu Zhenhan looked all over his body, took out the useless ’Spirit Communication War Song’ scroll ’Standing on the High Tower’ and stuffed it into Guoguo’s leopard skin pocket, pinching Guoguo’s little face.

Guoguo took out a bamboo slice and started playing Lotus Landing again, his eyes and nose crinkling up in laughter.

"You’ve been busy for a whole day and night and you’ve just made a bunch of toys?" Cui Beixi shook her head, her face expressing complete disapproval.

Liu Zhenhan was about to take a deep breath to reveal the shocking answer, when a sudden, urgent, and loud conch horn sounded.
