Chapter 229 - 35 Beamon Battle Dance_2
Chapter 229: Chapter 35 Beamon Battle Dance_2
The slaves were incredibly moved.
"You need a full stomach to do hard work!" the Overlord declared.
The slaves quickly lowered their heads, dismissing his words as nonsense.
As the party passed its third round of drinks, Liu Zhenhan figured it was time for some entertainment.
Responding to the Overlord’s call, Korina, along with a dozen mammoth warriors, performed the "War Blade Dance".
Liu Zhenhan treated each of them to a cigar.
Four mantis monks from the Green Party Tribe also performed, demonstrating their prowess with blades. True to their reputation as blade saints of the Beamon Tribe, their swift blade movements were like lightning in a dark sky, flickering above and below.
After a few too many drinks, Gude decided to showcase his drunken fist routine.
Following his master’s teachings, Bellamy performed a routine of slicing through stones with his bare hand.
Even the slaves were cheering, applauding, and whistling in approval.
"Well done, well done!" Liu Zhenhan, as usual, rewarded each performer with a cigar.
Guoguo, encouraged by the "crowd," took a few rounds and scored a cigar. Little piglet Katusha joined in, rushing out with its snout covered in "ice cream", much to the shock of the Bear Goblin slaves. It wasn’t until Liu Zhenhan picked her up that they managed to snap out of their panicked state.
From the handle hole of the Wolf Fang Club, Liu Zhenhan produced two hidden "Tamerlarya salamanders" and gave them some "ice cream". They licked it clean with sheer joy and delight.
Everyone understood why the Overlord’s "dense array" Wolf Fang Club had managed to electrocute the robbers last time. Each of them discreetly increased their danger estimation of the Overlord’s cunning and deceptive power.
"How did you train these creatures that can produce ’paralysis lightning’ to obey you?" Helen whispered, still remembering how her Komodo War Behemoth had suffered earlier.
"I pulled out their tongues. Would they dare not obey me? One tap on the handle, and they must produce lightning or starve," Liu Zhenhan replied.
"You’re rather heartless," Ning Yu said.
"It’s called recycling. Magical beasts can be used in many ways. I found their ’paralysis lightning’ fascinating. It might not be fatal, but it’s useful to me," Liu Zhenhan responded with a dry chuckle.
"How come you’re okay? The Dragon balls on your necklace only provide protection against water, wind, and fire, right? Can they protect you from lightning too?" Avril asked curiously.
"Haven’t you noticed the ring of wood wrapped around my Wolf Fang Club handle? You don’t get it? Ha-ha... never mind then," Liu Zhenhan replied, his expression a mixture of mischief and amusement.
"Oh..." Helen sighed. Her dear Richard seemed to forget his role as a priest more and more, gravitating toward cunning tactics and using brute force. Unfortunately, she had no idea how to convince him to desist.
"No more sighing. Every magical beast exists for a reason. It all depends on what kind of priest they’re dealing with. There’s no such thing as an ineffective magical beast, just priests who fail to utilize their abilities," Liu Zhenhan said with a laugh.
"That’s a very philosophical way of saying it," the elder Andulan nodded in agreement.
"I always speak profoundly. You just never noticed," Liu Zhenhan replied unabashedly.
Underneath the Slat Banana tree, bard O’Neil delivered a rendition of his masterpiece, ’Lovely Water Lily,’ while strumming an old-fashioned lyre.
O’Neil’s expressions while singing were peculiar – he looked like someone with severe hemorrhoid pain, his head swinging and tossing around in ecstasy.
"O’Neil! With that expression, you look like you’ve been dragged onto a wasteland by five female ogres!" laughed Bellamy.
"Piss off!" replied O’Neil, as he continued tuning his instrument. After a moment of emotional preparation, he continued his melodious singing. The surrounding hippos clapped along and chanted their catchphrase, "Hail, Holy Mary". Their loud voices even startled plantlife.
On the lovely water lily~~~ (Hail, Holy Mary~~~ echoed the hippos.)
On the lovely water lily~~~ (Hail, Holy Mary ~~~ echoed the hippos.)
The day I went fishing by the Sanggan River, holding my spear~
While you were singing by the river, your voice floating amidst clouds~
Your melody led me astray and I sunk into the water~
With your voice floating amidst the clouds~
The muscular hippo youngster, O’Neil~
Please, come to my house by the Sanggan River tonight~
Feed your beasts well and bring your lyre~
As the sun sets, pluck your lyre’s strings~
We’ll be singing side by side under the water~ (Hail, Holy Mary~~~ echoed the hippos.)
"Beautifully sung!" Liu enthusiastically clapped.
The children were drawn in by the rugged yet beautifully structured dance performance in Silk Continent style. Even Helen couldn’t resist and joined the dance herself.
Avril and Ning Yu, despite their shyness, were rather tempted to join as well.
As a renowned singer, Liu Zhenhan couldn’t back down. He took out his harp and sang his trademark piece, ’Cat Ear Cave’.
The melancholic song radiated both the reluctance of the past and the deep affection of the present.
The hippos were left dumbfounded.
"Never would have guessed! Didn’t see it coming," O’Neil muttered, his mouth agape.
Moving to the rhythm of Liu Zhenhan’s song, Helen flawlessly blended the Fox Tribe girl’s enchanting dance with the elegant Priestess robe and her fiery red hair. Her face glowing under the bonfire left everyone enchanted.
