Chapter 213: Chapter 1: Complete Wilderness (Free) & Chapter 2: Sharoman’s Ceremony _5

"I’m really sorry." The little fox stood up as well.

Liu Zhenhan didn’t move, playing with the Wolf Fang Club in his hand. The pandas behind him drew their gleaming spears from their backs and slowly approached.

Twenty panda warriors standing together were terrifying, their bodies stronger than the Pier bear clans, exuding a formidable sense of invasion.

The members of the squad felt an anomaly. There was a flash of timidity in their eyes, but they didn’t hesitate in the slightest. They all urged their mounts to slowly surround them, their strong hands also resting on their knife hilts.

The Wolf Riders all knew in their hearts that perhaps just one of the panda warriors could wipe them out, but they didn’t back down either.

Between the two armies, it was all about momentum. The Panta warriors looked like ferocious bears surveying naked beehives.

The Mastiff people also came up, each growling low in their throats with sharp eyes.

What was this all about, even daring to defy the regular army? Sharoman War Shaman Robert. Baggio’s back was drenched with sweat, cold as ice. He knew as clear as a bell what would happen if twenty Wolf Riders were to clash with forty outstanding followers of the War Shaman.

"What are you doing?" The Mastiff stared at Gude.

"Don’t get in my way." Liu Zhenhan walked over.

He hadn’t sworn a vow to give the Mastiff people freedom, but it was something he had to do.

The Mastiff, Robert, saw something in Liu Zhenhan’s eyes. It seemed like this Piegel shaman was looking for a place to hide a body after a kill.

Helen rushed over immediately, continuously pulling on Liu Zhenhan’s arm. The "Ceremonial Code" tucked in her arm dispelled the Wolf officer’s last shred of doubt.

Fakes couldn’t get their hands on a book like this.

"You misunderstand." Robert quickly explained, "I have no right to pry into the whereabouts of the two shamans."

"Then why are you constantly blocking my path?" Liu Zhenhan’s hard expression relaxed slightly upon hearing these words.

"It’s like this: half a day ago, we received a distress signal from a Hobbit Halfling village. An Otherworld magical beast, the ’Star-tailed turtle’, had invaded the Halflings’ village. The Halflings are friends of our Wolf Tribe, and we don’t have many troops stationed at this garrison, so we could only send this small squad to handle this difficult situation. The Star-tailed turtle is a rare magical beast that’s covered in immense bony armor. We are powerless against it, so we are hoping to get the two shamans to help!" Robert explained hurriedly, weakly glancing at the tall and burly Gude and casually complimenting them, "It’s clear that all of the followers of the two shamans are brave warriors!"

The courageous Wolf Tribe would prefer to die in battle than ask for help. Robert didn’t have a choice and had to resort to this falsehood to cover up his lies. If he didn’t give some explanation to this bandit-like shaman, Robert would be filled with anxiety.

He wasn’t afraid of this guy, he simply thought it was meaningless to fight over something that didn’t exist. Robert assured himself in his heart.

"Star-tailed turtle?" Helen and Ning Yu both exclaimed in surprise in unison.

"Another model?" Liu Zhenhan was delighted upon hearing it was a magical beast, but upon hearing it was another turtle, he couldn’t help but be triggered by his previous disadvantage.

"What’s the matter? Is it very powerful?" Little Ai looked at Helen and Ning Yu with a confused expression.

"More than powerful!" Helen said, "This is a top-tier tricky magical beast. Its armor is extremely hard, and physical attacks are basically ineffective!"

"And it even has a tail as weighty as a Wolf Fang Club, capable of using Qi Magic!" Ning Yu was apparently well-acquainted with this magical beast.

"Oh? Is its magic more powerful than mine?" Avril retorted, summoning a water arrow spell. With a wave of her hand, she shot towards the Newton Giant Bird soaring in the sky.

But she missed.

Avril’s face flushed slightly as she slowly recited a series of complex magical notes, crushing the last seashell-made magic scroll at her side.

Although Avril would never admit it, her proficiency in water magic was truly terrible. Regardless, she wouldn’t allow anyone else to point it out.

Ever since they arrived on land, the ease of calling upon water elements as she did under the sea was impossible. Large spells now necessitated the use of magic scrolls, made from seashells instead of parchment, unlike human mages.

This particular seashell was her last item for crafting magic scrolls. Originally, there were two held over her chest, strategically placed for decency. During her first "Evolutionary Barrier" moment with Liu Zhenhan, one was brutally destroyed.

The mermaids of the Sea Clan remained mermaids of the Sea Clan.

Once the magic scroll crafted from the seashell was crushed, a beautiful pale blue light flashed. A dense wave of magical water arrows shot up into the sky. Although their accuracy still left much to be desired, thankfully their numbers were great. Half missed, but the other half hit the Newton Giant Bird’s belly. With a cry, it showered down greenish blood, staggering towards distant mountains. A while later, the sounds of heavy objects breaking through the tree canopies reached them.

"A mage?" Not just Robert from the Wolf Tribe, who was frightened, but even the usually indifferent Wolf Cavalry had looks of terror on their faces.

A mage! The torrents of floods, hellish magma, and lightning from the sky! These legendary stories passed down by their elders suddenly jumped out from their memories.

"She’s my personal magic consultant." Liu Zhenhan coughed casually a couple of times, acting nonchalant. Actually, he just wanted to pull Avril into his arms and passionately hug her: This brought him so much prestige!

The Wolf Riders looked completely changed. A magic consultant! Even among human nobles, how many had their own private magic consultants? If a fight had broken out earlier, having a mage on the field was a nightmare, even for a large team of Wolf Riders.

"Little Ai, compared to you, the Star-tailed turtle’s magical level is, I’m afraid, no lower." Ning Yu deliberated for a moment, choosing to be blunt even if it damaged Avril’s pride.

"The Star-tailed turtle’s most powerful magic is the ’Intoxicating Cloud’ attack. No matter how powerful the magical beast, if it’s hit by its magic, it can only fall asleep. While this spell lacks direct harm, it is very troublesome," Helen added.

"This chap sure is capable!" Liu Zhenhan was reminded of the chloral hydrate he used in the past to capture enemies on the battlefield. He’d just make a piece of cloth moist with it and cover the nose of the enemy from behind, easily knocking them unconscious in three seconds.

"So that’s why we need the help of the two shaman!" Robert, upon hearing their discussions, came to realize that their help was indeed needed.

"Eliminating evil creatures is the duty of every shaman!" Helen readily accepted their request, "We were originally planning on hunting magical beasts in the Southern Cross Star Forest for the crystal nucleus anyway."

"Your bravery dazzles as brightly as your beauty!" Robert said sincerely.

"Richard..." Helen wrapped her arms around Liu Zhenhan’s arm, looking up with hope in her eyes.

"What do you think, General?" Liu Zhenhan shifted his glance towards the indifferent-looking Gude, who was posing coolly.

"Doesn’t matter, it’s been a while since I’ve had turtle soup." Gude declared impassively. Unbeknown to others, Gude was somewhat smug about the nickname "General Pan" as it was a pun on "handsome" from the Panta Clan’s tongue, despite the dark circles around his eyes diminishing his satisfaction.

"Then what are we waiting for... let’s just go have some fun... Looks like I’ll have two turtle shells to make a tent from very soon..." Liu Zhenhan chuckled, twirling the blood jade ring in his hand.
