Chapter 184: Chapter 2: Red and Black_3
"Kampas the Great! You actually refused challenge from a goblin! Your name will soon spread all over the Wilderness!" The bear goblin leader roared heroically, while using the corner of his eye to signal his underlings to stop stuffing their cheeks with chew.
"Are you still unwilling to surrender?" Liu Zhenhan crossed his arms, his pet occupying one shoulder, its three mouths puffing away.
"I..." The bear goblin leader contemplated on actually surrendering, as he noticed an ogre slave who bore a burn mark on his face, swinging a large blunt tree trunk at his underlings. The thud of bodies colliding with the bark and the ongoing echoing of broken bones accompanying cries of pain were disturbing.
The elephant warriors stood off to the side, arms crossed, watching indifferently.
Just as the bear goblin leader was about to surrender, he stopped when he noticed two pairs of eyes on him.
Avril and Ning Yu were both looking at him, with beautiful eyes that seemed to speak a thousand words.
Their entrancing gazes seemed to be filled with endless encouragement, instantly making the bear goblin leader refuse to back down the same way his minions had.
Summoning courage from god knows where, the bear goblin leader bellowed: "Death before dishonor!"
Upon uttering those words, he immediately regretted it, but it was already too late.
The smile on Liu Zhenhan’s face instantly solidified. He spat out the cigar in his mouth and yanked the bear goblin leader by the hair, immobilizing his robust body in a chokehold until his tongue was hanging out. The leader’s bronze axe clattered to the ground with a metallic clang.
"Fuck! Let’s see whose is tougher, your mouth or my method. You two, tear his mouth open!" Liu Zhenhan sternly commanded the two bear goblins who were nervously holding their hooks.
The two bear goblins trembled at the intimidating yell. They closed their eyes and reinserted the hooks that had earlier slipped out of their leader’s mouth during the commotion. They gave a harsh tug, left and right.
Deep cries and screams were the only sounds resonating.
Karu, the ogre who was engrossed in battle down the hill, was taken aback by the screams. His tree trunk paused mid-swing, frozen in place.
Both the robust bear goblins grit their teeth and tugged hard on their hooks. The hooks, blunt and thick, were forcing the goblin leader’s cheeks upward, but the skin wouldn’t tear. They paused for a moment to catch their breath, before giving it another hard heave.
"Heave!" Intimidated by Liu Zhenhan’s gaze, the bear goblins yanked harder, and both of them stumbled backward and fell to the ground.
Everyone who saw this scene was filled with trepidation. Avril’s face paled, and she did not dare to speak, fearing she would throw up.
Liu Zhenhan released the bear goblin leader, whose eyes had rolled back from the suffocation.
"Ah....." The bear goblin leader cradled his face and began writhing on the ground in pain.
Following Liu Zhenhan’s subsequent commands, all the remaining bear goblins completed their tasks promptly and obediently. They dug pits as told, rapidly using their fingers to gouge out the dirt.
An old tree trunk was planted behind them, on which their leader was hoisted by his thumbs. His toe tips just barely reached the bloody ground below. The grotesquely bloodied gashes on the bear goblin leader’s face and his glistening teeth pushed his minions to work faster than ever.
Who knew where the hedgehogs and skunks had found the courage? They arrogantly wielded their whips, occasionally lashing the goblins who were digging the pits.
Liu Zhenhan embraced Ning Yu and Avril.
The burdens that the two girls felt vanished once Richard appeared, as if by magic. Richard’s warm embrace felt as if it could dispel all misfortune. They lingered in the embrace, reluctant to let go.
Katusha, the petite piglet, was scolded by her two mothers for her mischief. Avril insisted on giving the little creature a serious beating.
Guoguo was praised, not for being good, but for becoming involved at the last moment instead of causing a riot.
"Magical beasts only obey the person who they’ve formed a soul contract with, it’s only natural." Helen helped mediate the situation.
"But these two brats are not Richard’s magical beasts! How can they be called magical beasts without a soul contract?" Avril disagreed.
Liu Zhenhan laughed heartily, "What magical creatures or not! I consider them my children. Look at Katusha, she’s so small. How can you all be so petty with her? Guoguo seems to be in his rebellious phase. Look at this little bastard, even started learning to smoke cigars from me! And he even encourages his sister to do the same too! Ha-ha...he’s just like how I used to be! If let loose in the magic forest, in three years, he would definitely become a rascal among the magical beasts!"
"You can’t hit them, but you can scold them as much as you want." Liu Zhenhan added.
With Liu Zhenhan backing them, Katusha was even more smug. Its tail curled defensively around its body, and it kept smacking its lips against Liu Zhenhan in a series of slobbery kisses. Glancing defiantly at the two beauties, Guoguo, also with a cigar wedged between his buttocks, puffed triumphantly, evidencing a gloat on his face.
