173: Chapter 10 Chicken Rib Illusion Magic_2 173: Chapter 10 Chicken Rib Illusion Magic_2 However, the sturdy castles of humankind and the valor of their knights deter them.
Even the might of the warrior Beamon is not something goblins could withstand.
As a result, goblins can only satisfy their desires by playing the role of robbers, bullying lone Beamons or humans, which is something every goblin enjoys doing.
In the vast Donau Wasteland, the sight of human women is a rarity.
And now, numerous beautiful girls have suddenly appeared, the Bear Goblins are thoroughly excited.
The goblin-robbers encountered here are not to be viewed as simply the small, fat, rat-like goblins found roaming along the border plains.
The goblin-robber tribes within wasteland have their territories, and their numbers and power give even the mighty Ogre Tribe pause.
The sudden appearance of these bear goblins, tall and cruel, quick in action, are amongst the finest of all goblin kin.
They are also the strongest.
Though named for their bear-like faces, they naturally lack the Strength of the Pier race.
Yet, their towering stature and weight exceeding 200 pounds guarantee their ample brute power.
The hedgehog-men and skunk-men only found carnage under their nail-headed bats and couldn’t mount an effective resistance.
Within moments, a pile of mangled bodies lay before Red Earth Highland as cries of pain and screams of terror filled the air.
Numerous hedgehog-men and skunk-men still in the caves above now lacked the courage to confront their attackers and retreated further in, afraid to peek out.
Larza beasts and fat antelopes were tightly encircled by fifty or so Bear Goblins.
Some goblins even leaped into the beast herds, biting down onto the larza beasts’ breathing tubes and gulping down fresh blood.
“Ook!
Ook!” All of the Bear Goblins raised their nailed bats in the air, cheering happily.
This grand harvest had overcome relatively unopposed, exciting all the Bear Goblins.
As for why a group of Beamons and humans were mixed in, the Bear Goblins dismissed the thought.
The swift and decisive victory had their blood boiling and burning.
“Despicable creatures!
Cease your blood-stained hands!” Avril stood on the highland angrily surveying the miserable scene below, raising a petite shout.
All the Bear Goblins slowly raised their heads, their chaotic gaze ablaze as if a hot brandy was splashed into a rampant bonfire.
In a whirlwind, at least a dozen Bear Goblins charged up the slope of Red Earth Highland.
The nail-headed bats in the Bear Goblins’ hands were discarded, their hands busily rubbing– saliva dripping– as they surrounded from all sides.
The goblins on the highland below ceased their onslaught on the hedgehog-men and skunk-men and stood to watch in interest.
Arrogant and lascivious whistling filled the atmosphere.
The quickest Bear Goblin among the crowd was the strongest, his worn-out leather armor revealing a thick patch of chest hair.
Large mouth with yellowed teeth huffed and panted, saliva flowing.
Witnessing the onslaught of the ferocious Bear Goblins, Avril, unique to her Sea Clan, began chanting a short magic spell.
The simplest water-element attack spell, Magic Arrow, was released in a flash.
The mermaid princess had always lived in comfort, she was cherished by everyone in the sea and had never experienced such direct confrontation with enemies.
The moment she began chanting her magic verse, the Bear Goblins were already up the hill.
When she released her Water Arrow, the fastest Bear Goblin had already closed in on her, only five steps away.
Caught in panic, Avril’s Water Arrow went astray, grazing the goblin’s flat face, taking a bunch of disheveled hair with it.
“Mage!” The horde of Bear Goblins that had charged in hoping to reap some benefits collectively gasped in astonishment, skidding to a halt.
Mages have always been a nightmare for any race.
They can summon the great forces of nature with ease, striking fear into even the most formidable beings.
Although the goblins have not witnessed the terrifying magic known throughout the Pan Continent before, they immediately recognized the delicate-looking girl as the rumored powerful mage.
Even if they haven’t eaten Larza beast meat, goblins have seen how Larza beasts walk.
They have that much common sense.
The Bear Goblin nearly hit by the Water Arrow plopped down onto the ground, his face pale.
With a yell, the Bear Goblins who were left behind at the bottom of the Red Earth Highland quickly raised several crudely made round wooden shields.
Being professional robbers, despite their brief moment of shock, the goblin thieves quickly reacted.
Four Bear Goblins wielding round wooden shields rushed up the slope, carefully picked up the nail-headed clubs they had dropped earlier.
Despite the Mage being powerful and terrifying, she was not surrounded by strong warriors.
This realization reignited the desire to fight in the Bear Goblins who had been initially thrown into despair.
But they were not as reckless as before.
Ten more Bear Goblins raced up the slope and joined in the cautious encirclement.
Avril’s first water arrow had missed, and now her heart was pounding wildly, making her slender legs tremble.
The Bear Goblins were indeed terrifying; their faces appeared as though they had been bashed repeatedly.
From the brow to the mouth, there was a deep, crescent-shaped depression, their limbs were thick and mighty, and their bodies covered with evil-infested hair.
Avril was nervously chanting her summoning spell, the clicking sound made by her teeth as clear as the rhythm of the verse.
A light flashed by, and the Bear Goblins found themselves surrounded by a group of cold-eyed, mighty Orephin Elephant Warriors.
The cold gleam of their swords instantly brought a chilling atmosphere to the Red Earth Highland.
All the Bear Goblins gulped, took a few steps back, and turned around to run.
Goblins are known for their cowardice, and the towering Bear Goblins are no exception.
When they outnumber their opponents, these goblins can unleash extraordinary combat power.
However, when confronted with a larger and stronger opponent, their first reaction is undoubtedly to run.
If there were only two or three Orephin warriors, the Bear Goblins might have relied on their numerical advantage to put up a fight.
However, when facing such a large number of Elephant Warriors, the courage of the Bear Goblins evaporated like rainfall in the desert in an instant.
Although the Bear Goblins didn’t understand why these Elephant Warriors had suddenly appeared, their years as robbers led them to react immediately.
A few Bear Goblins at the end of the group threw their nail-headed clubs at the Elephant Warriors while the rest of them expertly jumped down from the Red Earth Highland.
Not a single goblin believed that their clubs could harm these powerful Orephin warriors.
This action was merely a subconscious move to buy some time for their escape.
The Bear Goblins’ desire to escape vanished the moment the nail-headed clubs hit the Orephin warriors.
The clubs, cutting through the wind, turned the Orephin warriors into illusory ripples.
The terrifying Elephant Warriors vanished.
Just as mysteriously as they had appeared, they disappeared into thin air.
The Bear Goblins, who had been preparing to run away at the foot of the Red Earth Highland, suddenly witnessed this sight and froze, glancing at each other and murmuring in discussion.
The few Bear Goblins left behind stared at their own hands in disbelief, stupefied.
Some of the faster Bear Goblins began to slow their pace, looking back perplexedly.
Gradually, they made their way back.
The ripples flashed once more, and the vanished Elephant Warriors reappeared.
