Chapter 1636: Chapter 521 Official Divine Envoy {Part 2}

Throughout all recorded history of the known world, there has never been an instance of a divine incarnation descending into the human world.

Many so-called divine incarnations were entirely fabricated by later generations, making far-fetched associations that simply cannot withstand scrutiny.

A legend is a legend, whether treated as a joke, a fairy tale, or something else entirely. However, the appearance of a true divine incarnation in the human world, especially before one’s own eyes, could spell disaster rather than fortune for a ruler.

If it were confirmed that Karu is the incarnation of the goddess, with his power and ability to command flowers, he could quickly gain a large number of followers—a real god who can testify to their presence is far more compelling than something insubstantial, which might lead to a mass conversion of other races within the Demon Clan to his faith.

This is certainly not a scene the three Witch Kings hope to witness!

Even if we take a step back and presume Karu truly is a divine incarnation, the three Witch Kings would not hesitate to make him otherwise!

Power is like a wife; nobody wishes to share, not even with a deity!

"Are you suggesting a need for proof? Proof that I am not lying, proof that Karu the Flower King is indeed the incarnation of the goddess?" The sigh of the beautiful Diao Chan, Hai Huasi, was like a gentle breeze through a secluded valley, written across his pure and holy face with faint sorrow.

The atmosphere grew somewhat tense and awkward.

Liu Zhenhuan was amused as he leaned on Wei Zhi, watching the spectacle.

Today, Little Diao Chan had been very helpful to him; Liu Zhenhuan was beginning to like this girl a bit.

"We absolutely do not dare doubt your devotion to the goddess of enchantment," the three Witch Kings bowed in unison to express their apologies. These three wily veterans were too shrewd not to catch the implicit meaning in the envoy of the goddess of enchantment’s words.

Creating a spectacle over proof would be too crude!

The Diao Chan clan had served as envoys of the goddess of enchantment for nearly a thousand years, and was widely known amongst the Demon World’s commoners. Recklessly questioning the envoy’s judgment would only bring trouble upon oneself! The three Witch Kings would never fall for it!

"Master Hai Huasi!" The first Heavenly King of the Demon World, Atest, stepped forward, placing his hand over his heart to salute his divine spokesperson: "Your most humble servant, Atest, has something to say."

This guy must have been instructed by Gabe through a secret transmission to test the waters first, Liu Zhenhuan thought to himself.

The envoy is benevolent and would naturally not prevent a silver-eyed believer from speaking out.

"There is actually an insider secret that nobody knows," Atest surveyed the surroundings with a solemn expression: "Actually, as early as last month, the eternally burning Sacred Fire in the Main Temple of Brunei has already gone out! And since then, Master Hai Huasi has been unable to communicate with the goddess of enchantment!"

"What?" Jia Bao and Paul Newman almost jumped up, turning to glare daggers at His Majesty Gabe.

The Bollywood Witch King was currently whispering to his daughter, appearing like an immortal detached from worldly matters.

"No wonder!" said Paul Newman, his face turning purple with rage, his teeth grinding loudly.

"I was wondering why there hasn’t been a new Knight in the Burning Legion lately!" His Majesty Jiabao chuckled in anger: "Go on, Atest!"

"Do you admit to these two matters, Master Hai Huasi?" the Six-winged Heavenly King asked Little Diao Chan.

"I admit it, but didn’t you tell me back then that..."

"Master!" the Six-winged Heavenly King Atest cut off before the envoy could finish, rudely taking over: "Your most humble servant Atest learned from legends passed down through generations that the extinguishing of the eternally burning Sacred Fire signifies that the goddess of enchantment has abandoned the silver-eyed! And the goddess abandoning the silver-eyed also signifies the doomsday of the Nightmare Knights, because our nightmare mounts are precisely a gift from the goddess! You, who are omniscient, have also been unable to establish contact with the goddess for quite a while. From your perspective, do you admit there is indeed some sense to what I’m saying?"

"Doubt is the greatest original sin, my Atest!" Little Diao Chan’s delicate face blushed like two peach blossoms, filled with shame and guilt: "Perhaps my faith was not firm enough, for I, too, have felt helpless and faltered like you."

Hai Huasi took a deep breath and when he lifted his head again, his eyes were as steadfast as a rock: "But today, when I saw the goddess’s incarnation truly stand before me, I became convinced that the goddess of enchantment has not abandoned us!"

"Master!" Atest surely had someone instructing him on what to say, speaking in disjointed phrases: "Let’s momentarily set aside whether Lord Karu is a divine incarnation; I must now convey a fact to my fellow countrymen standing here!"

The surroundings had already fallen silent, everyone pricking up their ears, waiting to hear the rest of his words.

"Since the Sacred Fire went out, our Burning Legion has only produced a batch of Single-winged Nightmare Knights in a last-ditch burst before fading again, with no more Knights appearing! Not even apprentice Knights!" the Six-winged Heavenly King looked at Old Liu, then fixed his gaze on Little Diao Chan: "Master! Our silver-eyed apprentice Knights have formed connections with nightmares from an early age, and though this spiritual connection remains intact, our apprentice Knights can no longer use summoning spells to call their nightmare mounts into the Demon World! Apprentice Knights are not Winged Knights, there should not be such circumstances! Such a high failure rate is simply unnatural!"

"It’s your lack of firm faith that has brought down the goddess’s wrath! As long as you serve the goddess with sincere devotion from now on, this situation will naturally disappear," Hai Huasi’s answer seemed utterly absurd to worldly ears.
