Boiling Beast Bloodline -
Chapter 160 - 160 5 The Visitor on the Iceberg_2
160: Chapter 5: The Visitor on the Iceberg_2 160: Chapter 5: The Visitor on the Iceberg_2 “Altar Sacrificial Ceremony?” Korina widened her big eyes, looking down at the two of them.
“Isn’t the kingdom’s high priest already on trial in the Tamerlarya?
Haven’t you seen anyone dressed the same as us?” Helen was quite curious.
“Yes.” Korina wrinkled her own thickly haired nose, smiling, “But they never climbed this high; the Tamerlarya stretches on for thousands of miles, and we mammoths just aren’t social, so we’ve never greeted them.
About a decade ago, we did have a Beamon pass through, a lion from the Rhine Tribe.
Only he ever stayed a few days in our clan’s dwelling area, and then he scaled the seemingly insurmountable Tamerlarya.
He was a real warrior.”
“Kampas!” Helen was filled with a rush of cold air, exchanging a glance with Richard.
“It’s our current king, King Grecke Sar, isn’t it?” Richard asked in a lowered voice.
“I’m sure it is; he was the only one to have scaled the Tamerlarya in his youth.” Helen nodded.
“That lion invited us to live with him in the city of the Donau Wasteland.” Korina patted her son’s head, wiping his nose, “But we declined.”
Richard was struck to the heart by this statement.
Not only did the king back then have this thought, I do as well!
With their size, not fighting would be nothing short of wasteful!
Richard roared in his heart.
“Why aren’t you officially registered with the kingdom?
In all official records, it’s assumed that you, like the Valenbuer Tribe, have defected to the humans!” Helen asked curiously, “And I have another question, the harsh freezing weather of Tamerlarya is hardly conducive to the expansion of your tribe, why did you reject the kind intentions of that lion?
Do you know who this lion is now?”
“We mammoths enjoy living in the cold, it is nothing to us.
As for why we did not go to live peacefully with that noble lion, it is because we cannot stand being governed by a Beamon who is inferior to us in martial power.” Korina’s answer came as a wild laugh, causing even the icicles on the glacier to seem to shiver.
“This lion wrestled with our tribesmen, and though he was strong, he was thrown off by our warriors four times.” Another mammoth warrior added.
“Wrestling and martial skills are two different things.” Richard let out a sigh.
This king, wrestling with these powerful fighters, wasn’t he asking for trouble?
That same guy who was thrown off four times, after returning to the Bimon Kingdom, took the throne through martial power.
Helen also let out a sigh, absolutely speechless.
Perhaps it was this humiliating experience that made His Majesty, who seized the throne based on martial might, never speak of it.
This allowed the mammoths to continue their obscure lives in the mountains.” Richard said, gritting his teeth.
This subtle understanding of Richard made Helen laugh, her Richard was always able to see right through people’s hidden intentions.
“We mammoths are aware of the great name of the High priest, even though we have never left the Tamerlarya in all these years, we are still Beamon tribes who worship the War God.
We’ve never seen you priests before, and we were very rude, we apologize.” Korina laughed shyly.
“You guys have disappeared from the records for far too long; I would love to know how you live up here on Mount Tamerlarya?” Fox girl asked curiously.
This was a question Richard was also eager to know.
“We wouldn’t have chosen to live on the snowy mountain if we could.
We were forced to move here after the thousand-year war.
We had no choice since the Donau Wasteland, not being a tropical climate, doesn’t produce bananas which we love to eat.
The snow bananas here on the Mount Tamerlarya, though, meet all our needs.” Korina hugged her son, nodded to the two priests, “In apology, today we would like to serve you our best Snow Bananas.
To meet the legendary priests in the vast snowy mountain range is the honor of the Mammoth Clan, besides destiny, we have no other words to express our feelings.”
“Hehe, it’s true that the priests’ bodies are generally weak and can’t climb such high snow mountains.
It’s indeed a lucky encounter.” Helen also laughed.
Without the Night Pearl that could dispel the cold, she indeed could not bear the howling icy wind and thin air of Mount Tamerlarya.
Hehe…
Richard also laughed.
Aren’t I Richard, known for having the Beast of Misfortune, if I don’t swindle you strong men down the mountain to become my subjects?
After some small talk, Richard and Helen were led by the brave mammoth warriors into a huge mountain cave at the corner of the mountain.
It was clear that this was home to the mammoth warriors.
There was a huge beast pen housing twelve terrifying mammoth animals, and about ten equally strong mammoth women were feeding the animals.
Hearing the loud shouts of the men, they quickly and politely, with a bit of shyness, greeted the two distinguished priests.
Helen also politely took out a few uneaten apples from her bag and gave them to several hulking ‘children’ who were sucking their fingers and hiding behind their mothers.
The elders of the Mammoth Clan, hearing that two priests had arrived, excitedly came out of their caves and without saying anything, took hold of Richard and Helen’s hands, preparing to perform the five prostrations of the Beamon ceremony.
Richard quickly stopped them.
“What era are we in now, even meeting the king doesn’t require this,” Richard said with a laugh.
“Everyone, don’t be too polite!”
The nobleness of the priests moved the old members of the Mammoth Clan.
Unable to refuse, Richard and Helen took their seats on the north-facing main seats, surrounded by a crowd by a bubbling hot spring.
Large stone bowls of icy Yak meat, marble-like Snow Pig legs, and some fresh moss were brought up one after another under the management of the honest and straightforward mammoth women.
Korina warriors also came back from outside, carrying a large bunch of snow bananas dotted with black spots on the skin.
Inside the mountain cave, the steam from the hot spring filled the air.
The enthusiasm of the Mammoth Clan was even more intense than the steam from the hot spring, momentarily driving away the noisy howling wind from Richard and Helen.
Like the Orephin giant elephant warriors, Mammoth Clan also has a great fear of fire.
But the benevolent War God didn’t abandon them because of this.
The boiling hot springs on Mount Tamerlarya were like natural cauldrons, giving the Mammoth Clan the same right to eat hot food.
Upon thinking about how he and Helen had soaked in each and every hot spring on the way, Richard broke into a cold sweat.
Helen clearly also thought about this problem; her face turned slightly red, making her look even more beautiful.
“Eat, eat, eat!” Old Boji, Korina’s father, warmly invited.
He was the elder of the Mammoth Clan and had been the mammoth warrior who gave the current King a few somersaults couple of decades ago.
Although quite old, he was still sharp and also conversational.
This old fellow’s stature could only show their age among those of the Mammoth Clan.
“The taste isn’t bad at all!” Richard sliced a piece of Snow Pig meat with a small ivory knife stuck in the raw meat, tasted it after it was cooked, nodded, then put it in Helen’s stone bowl.
The hot spring water itself had salt so, combined with the freshness of the meat, it gave the feeling of eating hot pot.
Helen also ate with a beaming smile, her eyes narrowed into slits.
