Chapter 1596: Chapter 494: Dissection Analysis Part 2

Currently, the territory directly controlled by Florence is actually larger than the entire Bimon Kingdom itself—aside from the southern Donau Wasteland, even the Santos Prairie of Chesang Continent and the Underground World are all part of Liu Zh震han’s domain. These lands contain practically no hostile forces worth noting, requiring no army divisions to guard them. They are so fertile it’s almost outrageous.

Compared to a year ago, when Liu震han was granted his domain in Witherspoon City, at the time, Great Shaman Qi Dan had put forth a rather pitiful requirement to the then white-robed War Shaman: "Within a year, you must ensure the population of your domain reaches the minimum threshold of one thousand people, or else the territory of Florence will be repossessed by the Noble House and redistributed to other Shaman Nobles." Yet now, Florence boasts a population in the Underground World’s three continents alone, with the Stone-Jawed Cave-dwellers estimated to have surpassed one billion!

One threshold was set at a mere one thousand, while now the total exceeds billions—the contrast is almost too wild to fathom!

With Liu Zh震han’s administrative capabilities and Florence’s current official structure, managing billions of subjects at once would undoubtedly be a chaotic mess. However, the Underground Cave-dwellers are unlike any other wisdom race in the Surface World. The Stone-Jawed Cave-dwellers are incredibly simple-minded. Having endured oppression from the Fallen Elves for ten thousand years, their ultimate desire is merely a stable pastoral life, where men plow the fields and women weave.

Now that the Fallen Elves have been driven out, Liu Zh震han faces none of the worries that a king of a vast population would have in asserting authority over the Underground World. As for the smaller number of subjects in the Surface World, they are already excellently managed by Ning Yu and the elders, leaving Liu Zh震han with no room for concern even if he wanted to.

Such a leisurely and carefree overlord existence—perhaps only Liu Zh震han can achieve this. Yet as the representative of the fourth-largest force of the kingdom, the Northeast’s richest mogul, and the envoy of the gods, Liu still has much to consider, including the kingdom’s future.

The Bimon Kingdom, situated in the expansive Donau Wasteland, has vast land but is fundamentally unsuitable for building a nation.

The area severely lacks metal deposits and coal mines, and its soil is extremely xenophobic; apart from native grasses and berry-producing shrubs, inland crops struggle to adapt to the peculiar soil conditions here. The scarcity of coal and minerals limits the kingdom’s military armament, and the inability to cultivate crops on a large scale restricts population growth and food supplies. Hence, this land has traditionally been referred to as the Primitive Ancient Origin—a barren land where only bandits and outlaws dare settle.

After the smoke of Heigar dissipated, the desperate Bimon ancestors spent a thousand years laying the foundation of civilization on this challenging terrain. Though they managed to establish a structured nation, the region’s remoteness and thorny paths inhibited interaction with inland civilized regions. Thus, despite the rich variety of Bimon Kingdom’s local specialties, they could never be transformed into large-scale exports, which could have enhanced the kingdom’s financial and material assets or improved the living standards of its citizens.

With Florence’s support, the kingdom has finally shed the reputation of being iron-poor and avoided the embarrassing reality in which official Tauren warriors couldn’t even afford armor. Yet the bottleneck problem of food remains unresolved. Livestock farming is currently the kingdom’s sustenance backbone, but among the five major provinces, the Southeast Province is saline-alkali land, the Southwest Province is a massive marsh, and the Northwest Royal Capital lies in a gravelly plain—all unsuitable for grazing. This leaves the kingdom relying heavily on the coordination and support of the other two fertile provinces, creating a faltering, uneven situation.

Successive Bimon Kings have attempted to solve this problem but have had minimal success. Even Liu Zh震han, upon first settling in the Red Earth Highland, agonized over winter food shortages, so much so that he even considered looting the pitiful stockpile of the wasteland bandits.

Now Florence, blessed with control of three Underground Continents, has not only seized the strategic grain reserves of the Mulanese but also cultivated crops with the labor of billions of Cave-dwellers. Naturally, food shortages are no longer a concern. However, the crop called "Hidden Flower Moss," grown on volcanic ash, has extremely low yields per acre, isn’t hunger-sustaining, and—more importantly—the number of Cave-dwellers from whom Liu can practically collect taxes and grain doesn’t truly reach in the billions. He simply doesn’t have enough tax collectors. Moreover, he can’t trust outsiders, making turning Cave-dwellers into exclusive Bimon farmers a challenging endeavor.

The Demon World, abundant in volcanoes and rich in volcanic ash in its soil, hosts underground cities that resemble the environment of the Underground Continent almost perfectly. Liu Zh震han has eaten several meals there and never encountered any moss crops with a slight fishy-grass taste, clearly indicating that Demon World’s staple grain crops must be unique varieties. Additionally, the Demon Clan’s underground cities lack "Underground Suns" that provide sunlight, all of which are areas Liu needs to study and learn about.

If Florence can glean the secret of Flame Tower lighting, Liu Zh震han wouldn’t have to depend on the floating "Underground Suns," allowing him to provide Cave-dwellers in the Underground World with more arable and residential space!

If Demon World’s crops could increase the per-acre yield for Cave-dweller farmers, Florence could leverage grain-for-goods exchange to acquire specialties from all provinces!

With thirteen tons of teleportation crystals, Liu Zh震han could set up exclusive shops selling Bimon Kingdom products across Aegean’s cities. Old Liu firmly believes that, given his reputation, no human kingdom would refuse such a modest trade proposal!
