Chapter 1579: Chapter 486 The Conspiracy of the Arcane Beast Army_3

Say what you will about Florence’s good fortune or deep-rooted foundation—this isn’t something other nations can easily replicate! Liu Shock’s so-called zero-casualty war record, once you strip away the veil of mystery, doesn’t actually have much substance.

"Future wars must rely on mobility! In an era that prioritizes logistics, the only way to successfully raid someone’s supply routes is through the air force!" Liu Shock passionately delivered his speech. After all, Beamon was about to clash with the Demon Clan—it’s bound to stick to defensive tactics. Who needs long-distance supply lines anyway?

After listening to Liu Shock’s suggestions, a large group of Winged Knights chimed in one after another. Open compliments were mixed with hidden jabs, a chaotic burst of chatter like a marketplace in full swing.

"Enough of the arguing—currently, air forces across the Aegean Continent are extremely scarce. Karu’s proposal isn’t entirely unreasonable!" His Majesty Clark Gable, displeased by his knights’ incessant bickering, let his expression turn cold.

"But, Your Majesty, reports indicate that Beamon still has Smey Swan People in their ranks! These Birdmen may not be able to fly, but their ’Sky Banning Song’ remains the number one nemesis of our Demon Clan’s air force!" The Six-winged Heavenly King, Atest, said solemnly, "These terrifying Birdmen dominate the skies through their sheer presence!"

"Lord Atest, if the Swan People can’t fly, is it their legs that are faster, or is it our air force?" Liu Shock responded with biting sarcasm. "The battlefield is vast. Can they even keep up? In past aerial combats, both sides’ air forces would fight until day turned to night, but now the opposing side doesn’t even have an air force. Across such an enormous battlefield, their archery-based anti-air units can’t possibly cover the entire army; at most, they might guard the flanks. With our air force facing no natural enemies, we can easily avoid their archers’ range, exploit weaknesses, and target ground units individually without retaliation. Lord Atest, don’t you think this reasoning holds up?"

"I admit you have a point! But my fear is that Swan People might mix within different formations. That would be troublesome!" Atest, ever resolute, refused to simply concede his stance. "Your Highness, I’ve long known that without aerial opposition, our Demon Clan’s fifteen thousand strong air force could dominate the entire battlefield! But precisely because of this, I feel there’s no need to establish something like Aerial Beast Riders. Whatever these aerial knights can do, the rest of our air force can also achieve! While I may be considered a flying knight myself, I yearn to become a true knight. If given the chance, I would much prefer clashing with enemy cavalry on the ground, charging head-on to wash away the humiliation endured by our ancestors a thousand years ago!"

"You’re an idiot." Liu Shock silently resolved to one day dispatch the Polantu Phantom Beast Knight Squadron to crush this guy’s guts into paste.

"Honestly, it doesn’t matter how we fight; the Demon Clan is bound to win either way! Tactics, strategy, manpower, and gear—our advantages are overwhelming! I’ve often imagined the look on the enemy cavalry’s faces when they face our air force’s attacks, helplessly taking hits without being able to retaliate!" The Witch King roared with laughter.

"But I’m still worried that Swan People might infiltrate the ranks, which is why I find it necessary to form an Aerial Arcane Beast Regiment! Relying solely on Winged Knights and Fear Knights won’t provide the magical firepower coverage the Arcane Beasts can deliver! At high altitudes, our Arcane Beasts can fully utilize Earth’s Gravity to rain down arcane magic from above without concern for Swan People! It’s far more valuable than risking Gargoyles or Fear Knights descending to dangerous low altitudes. Moreover, the Arcane Beast air regiments can execute vertical precision strikes. Launching over a thousand arcane spells downward ensures the elimination of opposing commanders! This is strategic value!" Liu Shock sneered, "I imagine even a Six-winged Heavenly King might struggle to withstand the concentrated assault of thirteen hundred Arcane Beast Riders, wouldn’t you say?"

"What you say is true, but do you think I’d give those Arcane Beast Riders the opportunity?" Atest retorted without backing down, glaring at Liu Shock with a gaze full of provocation.

"As long as someone stalls you for a moment, you won’t escape." Liu Shock smirked dismissively. "If you face my Aerial Beast Riders, ten of you combined would still be nothing but rotting bones in the grave!"

"If given the chance, I’d quite like to test that." Atest’s lips curled into a mocking sneer, his disdain even more pronounced.

"What’s with you two? Why are you at each other’s throats? Young people these days..." The Witch King chuckled, attempting to ease the hostility in their locked gazes. He received a ’Harmonious Pearl’ from one of the Winged Knights, handed it to Liu Shock, and effectively silenced Liu’s cutting sarcasm.

"I’ve decided! We will form the Aerial Beast Rider Squadron. This way, with a three-layer formation during assaults, there will be no gaps in firepower, and no one can shake us head-on!" Liu Shock declared frankly, his true target being none other than the Demon Clan knights present.

"In that case, my two Aerial Beast Rider Regiments might as well employ a mixed ground-and-air configuration! An ocean of arcane assaults descending from the skies can drown enemy commanders. Continuous, uninterrupted aerial firepower will provide unparalleled dominance—whether against air or ground targets. Karu, you truly have vision! Airborne Arcane Beasts—this is indeed an excellent idea!" His Majesty Clark Gable, intrigued and swayed, bought into the notion.

Aerial Arcane Beast forces? I wonder if, when facing the free-flying Swan People clad in Phantom Beast armor, you’ll regret today’s decision! Liu Shock chuckled inwardly. During the era of the Heigar Campaign, if Swan People had been capable of flying across the world freely, the Gryphon Knights’ glory might have been cut short long before. Unless the Demon Clan’s entire air force consisted solely of advanced-level Wind System Arcane Beasts or comparable elites!

Suddenly feeling a peculiar gaze locking onto him, Old Liu lifted his eyes. With a cold glance, he saw the stunningly beautiful Mermaid from the Demon World staring at him.

I wonder, if I return her to the Mermaid Clan, can I exchange her for countless White Shell Coins? Liu Shock mused to himself, his mind bubbling with delight. Images of the clear azure skies, snow-capped mountains, and the sweeping hurricane-like formations of massive, mutated phantom beasts over the vast Donau Wasteland surged through his mind.

All of this was gifted by the Demon Clan! Life, oh life, how you stir my emotions so deeply.

Old Liu’s eyes grew misty.
