Chapter 1565: Chapter 476: Mastering Spells, No One Can Resist {5}

"That Witch King is definitely plotting against me!"

Richard scratched his head while pacing back and forth in the luxurious suite.

The plush carpet under his feet made a "squeak squeak" sound with each step.

Avril, Elise, the Peacock girl he had "borrowed," and the Druid pretty boy, who was tied up like a twisted pretzel, all rolled their eyes at him.

They were no longer in Starlight Avenue City in the Hollywood Continent but in the provincial capital of the Bollywood Continent, Sariwo City, inside the most luxurious hotel available.

Ever since arriving in the Demon World, Richard could be described euphemistically as a "migratory bird," but realistically, he was more like a locust—roaming from place to place, operating flagrantly against the wind.

Everything had gone as expected. Since Flower King Richard revealed himself in the Hollywood Continent, multiple groups of spies had quietly started tailing him—elite professionals in their trade!

After Richard completed the handoff with Witch King Paul Newman, exchanged polite farewells, and "huffed and puffed" his way through the magic teleportation array to the Bollywood Continent, these spies followed him without hesitation. Their exact affiliations remained unknown, but their number was staggering.

While stealthily shadowing Richard, they utilized a variety of spy equipment—like crystal buttons resembling chess pieces that shot out and clung to fabric fibers like octopus tentacles, impossibly lightweight with unknown functionality; or colorless, odorless powders that were scattered along Richard’s anticipated paths, clearly intended to trigger some peculiar effect upon contact; and, most alarmingly, some even tried to brand him with mental imprints.

Relying on such technological methods, specialized gadgets, and sheer manpower to tail Richard seemed naive on the part of these Demon Clan intelligence agents!

These tactics might work against ordinary people, but employing them on someone as unorthodox as Richard? They truly didn’t grasp the heights of the heavens or the depths of the earth!

Richard’s immense mental power allowed him to easily filter out peculiar or hostile mental waves from the countless people around him. The stark difference between malicious intent and casual indifference was as significant as a tsunami versus a gentle stream.

Thus, even the most skilled spy was as conspicuous as a glowing coal on a snowy plain in Richard’s eyes.

Choosing to skillfully evade them instead of immediately grabbing a high-pressure crossbow tube and firing was Richard’s version of mercy.

Still, it had to be acknowledged that the Demon World had its strengths—highly developed communication methods and abundant manpower provided the spies with ample time and resources to plan their surveillance. And given Richard’s clear destination of the Bollywood Continent, it was straightforward enough for them to lay their plans. Richard had to repeatedly alter his predetermined route, take multiple detours through other cities in the Demon World, and create chaos with Black Shell Coins in the teleportation guild centers just to shake off these pesky paparazzi.

From a practical standpoint, even someone as powerful as Richard would eventually face a day where he couldn’t escape being unmasked, given the variety of scientific methods, convenient transportation, and manpower tactics arrayed against him.

Fortunately, Richard never intended to stay here forever.

"Sh-should we just retreat for now?" Elise had a nagging fear that Richard was heading straight for disaster. Ever since witnessing him inflate two Dreadlords like pufferfish and then watching them explode with a "boom," the Aegean Flower’s sense of foreboding had only grown stronger.

"Anyway, we’ve pretty much completed the mission, haven’t we?" Elise added.

"No way!" Richard opened a cabinet, pulled out a bottle of famed Demon World liquor, twisted off the cap, and guzzled several large gulps.

"Richard, my boy! You’ve stirred up such a storm this time! You took out three Dreadlords in one go—no, make that six total!" Avril threw him a flirtatious glance heavy enough to weigh eight pounds. It made Richard loosen his collar before diving toward her cheekily, like a black bear tearing into a tender little lamb. With a mouthful of booze, he landed a passionate kiss on the Mermaid’s enticing red lips that lasted no less than five minutes.

Elise perched on her chair with her legs curled up, resting her chin on both hands as she stared blankly at the pair. The admiration in her gaze might as well have flown overseas!

"S-so awesome! You two held your breath for a full five minutes just to kiss!" Elise checked her snow-white wrist adorned with a twelve-hour watch bracelet and gave them an enthusiastic thumbs-up.

This timepiece, a Dragon Clan masterpiece Richard had gifted her, boasted precision within a second over a century compared to sundials at 37 degrees north latitude.

"We only have so many breaths per day, you know. Want to give it a try yourself?" Richard cradled Avril and leaned mischievously toward Elise, a devilish grin on his face.

"Kiss! Kiss!" urged the Mermaid teasingly.

Elise blushed furiously under the provocatively gleaming eyes of the rogue and playfully pounded his head with her fists before unfurling cobalt blue wings and soaring into the air amidst a cascade of giggles.

"Let’s focus on the situation instead." Avril suddenly felt the weight of two unfamiliar gazes around her, blushed, and tugged at Richard’s arm before motioning to Elise.

"What situation?" Elise landed atop the crystal chandelier dangling from the ceiling, swaying back and forth like it was a swing. "Richard’s taken down two Dreadlords in one go, and another poor guy got shot by the Washing Yin Light—he’s guaranteed to be utterly crippled! If Witch King Paul Newman doesn’t retaliate, I’d sooner believe pigs can fly!"

The Aegean Flower, as the only timid Elf in history, paired her unparalleled beauty with an ethereal grace. Even the most uncultured person would find their lust replaced by awe when faced with such perfection.

Both Avril and the abducted Peacock beauty, as well as the twisted-up Druid pretty boy, were completely mesmerized by the fairytale-like loveliness.

Richard’s wine bottle slipped from his hand onto the thick carpet, and while picking it up, his eyes darted sneakily toward Elise.

Elise, huffing in frustration, drew the Fury of the Sky from her side. She reversed her grip, pulling three wooden rods from the pouch on her waist and placing them onto the bowstrings. Streams of green light rapidly flowed along the bow and rods like darting fish, transforming the rods into streamlined thorn-green arrows. Arrow feathers formed from mimosa-like leaves completed their perfect design.

Richard’s heart skipped a beat. The archery of an Elf was no joking matter. Although Sif Elves’ arrows inflict enchantment rather than injury, this rule evidently didn’t apply to this fiery damsel.

"Thunk! Thunk! Thunk!"

Three verdant streaks sliced through the air with muffled thuds.

The trio of thorn-green arrows embedded themselves deep into the stone wall, piercing the wooden strips of the window frame in the process. The mimosa-like green arrow tips quivered vigorously.

The Peacock beauty’s dazzling gaze fixed on the distant scenery outside the window, while her lithe figure stiffened like a statue.

"No Bird can escape with ease under the watchful eyes of an Elf," Elise addressed the kidnapped Peacock girl with a sweet grin—a grin that, from the Peacock’s perspective, came off as utterly demonic.

"Your gaze reminds me of Legolas," Richard and Avril clapped simultaneously, appropriating a line originally meant to win favor with Nedved.

"My dear King, shouldn’t you be thinking about how to save yourself? My archery skills won’t do you much good!" Elise graced her face with the kind of cute expression one wears after receiving compliments, struggling to look indifferent but failing to completely hide her glee.

"Save myself? How? This bureaucratic game is predictable enough—they’ll just hit me with some insanely difficult mission intended to kill me off in the process!" Richard chuckled dryly, plopping onto the table and taking another swig of liquor. "I’m a state leader—I’ve seen through all these tricks ages ago!"

"Your very existence makes me picture an unexpected phenomenon at the Aegean Olympics for Bimon Kingdom priests—a youthful prodigy of Master Puskas’s caliber suddenly appearing out of nowhere! What chaos would ensue? I can’t help but wonder if you, Lord Mourinho, and Pope Brut would all break your heads trying to recruit this genius!" Avril sighed wistfully. "I deeply sympathize with the Demon Clan—a supreme talent who fundamentally doesn’t belong to this realm emerges here, heralding imbalance, disaster, and the wrongful exploitation of rules!"

"Little Ai, you’re mistaken!" Richard refuted Avril’s view. "I’m still playing within the rules, at least technically. I know the three Dukes of the Demon World wouldn’t easily confront me directly! Even with the Dreadlords, I only dared challenge them because I had top-tier equipment. Without that gear, there’s no way I’d risk going after three Dreadlords at once! Strength is one thing, but deterrence is what truly matters!"

"Whether rules or not, your actions have long crossed the line; there’s no way to undo this mess now! You’ve undeniably caught the deep attention and hatred of the Demon Clan’s upper echelons. To them, even if you’re still considered a Silver Pupiled individual, they see you as an arrogant, dangerously overpowered Silver Pupiled rogue! So I believe retreating is our best option!" Elise descended gracefully from the air, opened up a cabinet, poured herself a glass of pure green liquor, and clinked her glass against Richard’s with a melodious "cling."

"To you conquering three Dreadlords yet again," the Aegean Flower elegantly sipped her drink.
