Chapter 1561: Chapter 473: Mastering Martial Arts, No One Can Resist {2}
Based on the information he obtained from reading "A Comprehensive History of the Demon Clan" at the library a few days ago, the last two generations of Witch Kings were always three in number, ruling the three Demon Continents respectively. Logically speaking, with the support of cloning drugs, this generation of Witch Kings should be capable of producing twenty-seven!
Yet now, the Witch Kings remain at three!
This implies that the Demon Clan is not recklessly using cloning drugs without considering the consequences, simply to crazily bolster their strength!
After all, the Demon World only has three continents—let alone twenty-seven Witch Kings, even one more would struggle to find a place to settle! Although the Demon Clan appears united on the surface, the subtle hostility and competitive spirit among the three continents are something Liu Zhenshake clearly sees!
Where there is competition, there lies Old Liu’s opportunity to stir the pot!
His guess was fundamentally correct.
The strength of the three noble Witch Kings stems from their unique royal lineage, akin to the Upper Elves of the Aegean Continent. This bloodline grants extraordinary aptitude for learning Elemental Power, enabling rapid advancement!
It’s imaginable that if cloning drugs for fetuses were to proliferate, within the enclosed Demon World, countless nobles would emerge—all seeking territories, positions, and power!
What an ominous consequence this would be!
No visionary monarch would ever want to see this!
Which Witch King would be foolish enough for that?
In fact, as early as five thousand years ago, the Demon Clan’s Liches had already developed twin drugs! They tested it clinically on a Six-winged Heavenly King, and the results were indeed solid and effective. However, precisely because the results were so reliable, successive generations of Witch Kings treated it like a dangerous enemy and kept it locked away!
Witch Kings possess the Spiritual Thread Code. With sufficient crystal storage, under the formidable Arcane of Separation, widespread use of multi-fetal drugs essentially means that Witch Kings could create new, stronger nobles under their command even before their Dreadlords or Six-winged Heavenly Kings perish, ensuring their continued protection!
Whether multiple Witch Kings emerge or an explosion in second- and third-tier nobles occurs, the results would be terrifyingly extreme!
Every Witch King knows very well that the unchecked use of these drugs could lead to catastrophic consequences—within two generations, the Demon World could implode under the weight of too many nobles vying for power, sparking internal strife, warfare, and ultimately the world’s complete destruction!
Three thousand years ago, facing the looming Holy War, the Witch King of that era made a calculated decision to start using the triplet drugs. By then, not only had they successfully developed twin and triplet drugs, but even quadruplet drugs had already been researched!
To avoid a situation where subjects surpass their king, this farsighted Witch King ultimately chose the triplet drugs over quadruplet ones. Moreover, they restricted the drug’s usage strictly between Witch Kings and Dreadlords, before immediately obliterating all research personnel and related materials on multi-fetal drugs!
These secrets can’t be found in "A Comprehensive History of the Demon Clan," and even the Six-winged Heavenly Kings, despite being third-tier nobles, were kept entirely in the dark!
These days, the supposedly distributed multi-fetal drugs are all fakes—since the Demon Clan highly values ancestral traditions. Research into cloning drugs for fetuses was initiated by Skolari the Witch King ten thousand years ago. But Skolari likely didn’t foresee how terrifying the consequences of abusing such drugs would be, so even later Witch Kings who violated ancestral traditions took pains to cover their actions!
This is also why the Demon World now has five Six-winged Heavenly Kings. Five thousand years ago, only one Six-winged Heavenly King was used as an experiment to verify the twin drugs’ effects!
In the courageous first step taken by the Witch King, they mentally calculated that the Demon World only has three continents, and thus, at most, three Witch Kings, along with nine Dreadlords—already a carefully considered threshold to avoid a scenario where subjects overpower their rulers. Anything beyond that, such as applying drugs to the Six-winged Heavenly Kings, could result in fifteen such kings two generations later, even if the drugs were destroyed afterward!
Believing their strength already surpassed that of the Aegean Continent and was sufficient to face the Holy War, the Witch King’s decisive actions were undoubtedly wise!
Today’s Demon World is far more complex than Liu Zhenshake imagined!
The competitive hostility among the three continents is not merely subtle as Liu Zhenshake initially thought; rather, it’s an openly known rivalry. Each continent operates independently, recruiting talents and maintaining self-sufficient governmental systems!
No Witch King would ever tolerate themselves being governed by another Witch King. While the three current Witch Kings maintain a "live and let live" approach, they also have a gentleman’s agreement—as soon as they conquer the entirety of the Aegean, they will divide the lands and formally establish their own nations!
Out of reverence for ancestral traditions, the Witch Kings regarded the forthcoming election for the three Left Bank Heavenly Kings as an opportunity to strengthen their power before splitting. Since the expedition to Aegean involves all three continents selecting basic recruits to form their armies, the allocation of nobles will decide the future allegiance of these soldiers!
Jia Bao knew that sending Liu Zhenshake to Hollywood Continent to stir the pot was strategic, but little did he realize that two Four-winged Knights from Hollywood Continent had already gone to Coast Contribution Continent and were waiting to decide whether to participate in the Left Bank election. Paul Newman didn’t send anyone to Bollywood Continent to meddle, not out of leniency but because it wasn’t necessary. Although that continent suffered the loss of one Four-winged Magic Cavalry Knight due to a decapitation plan, it still had three in place!
The Demon World originally had ten Four-winged Knights. Due to earlier losses, there are now only seven left: three in Bollywood, three in Hollywood, and just one in Coast Contribution!
Jia Bao originally had two Four-winged Magic Cavalry Knights under his command, able to secure one Left Bank Heavenly King title without competition. However, after Old Liu took down one of Jia Bao’s Four-winged Magic Cavalry Knights, other continents saw an opening!
A ten-day unbeaten period in the Martial Arts Platform—if anyone among the Four-winged Magic Cavalry Knights stood a chance of winning, who could say?
No Witch King is foolish!
Liu Zhenshake’s suggestion to defect to Witch King Paul Newman naturally piqued interest. In truth, there was something Paul Newman hadn’t disclosed to Old Liu—according to Demon Clan ancestral traditions, only nobles are qualified to serve as army leaders; the prince title is a noble rank as well!
In other words, as the True Martial Prince, Liu Zhenshake also had the privilege of leading troops! However, in Demon Clan’s military, one must back titles with strength—no prince without power dares to enlist!
The Demon Clan’s regular army never factors in casualty rates during training; as a commander, anyone unable to suppress their subordinates would inevitably be killed during training by malicious subordinates under the guise of challenges or trials!
Adding an experienced noble with strength to one’s faction—what Witch King wouldn’t be tempted?
"Let me put it this way, Karu. You’ve already been marked by the ’Devotion Contract,’ meaning you’ve truly pledged yourself to Jia Bao! Given that, I really can’t trust your loyalty anymore. Even if you claim to have had a change of heart now, I can’t afford to gamble by granting you Arcane of Separation!" After much deliberation, Paul Newman still shook his head, reluctantly refusing.
"Your Majesty, I deeply regret your decision!" Liu Zhenshake was thoroughly enraged.
"I apologize deeply. I’ll immediately send someone to retrieve an Osteo Wand for you." Paul Newman shrugged apologetically.
"Do you truly think a Four-winged Magic Cavalry Knight empowered by Arcane of Separation can duel against me?" Liu Zhenshake slowly turned, his gaze settling on one of the nearby Dreadlords.
It was the most boastful one who had just been hollering about teaching Old Liu a lesson—a hulking figure brimming with Elemental Power.
"So, you’re planning to test your skills against Ron Harper first?" Paul Newman laughed heartily.
"Why not all three Dreadlords together?" Liu Zhenshake grinned wickedly. "How about it? Do you have the guts to try?"
"Your Majesty!" The three Dreadlords’ faces turned deep purple with anger, glaring at the Witch King in unison.
"I acknowledge your strength, but defeating all three of them simultaneously is impossible! Arcanists should only fight under the protection of warriors—why are you so confident, my dear Karu?" The Witch King’s blue eyes flickered uncertainly, clearly provoked as well.
"I’ll show Your Majesty whether empowering these Dreadlords with Arcane of Separation will be wasted!" Liu Zhenshake didn’t bother hiding his disdain. "Three Dreadlords should be sufficient for Your Majesty to judge!"
"I’d gladly accept your challenge—I eagerly await learning from you!" Though Paul Newman carried his airs of refinement flawlessly, he was utterly infuriated. He had never encountered a silver-eyed individual as brazen as this, challenging three second-tier nobles at once!
Liu Zhenshake wasted no time, soaring to the Martial Arts Platform. He assembled the counterfeit Ice Throne Battle Armor, planted his Fiat Sword and two newly bought Crystal Longswords into the stone slab, and pumped air into the pressure cylinder of his High-Pressure Crossbow Tube using the bladder-like airbag.
This crossbow was a weapon crafted by Demon Clan artisans inspired by the shooting mechanisms of the underground demons. It was cumbersome to use—each crossbow shot required connecting a bladder-like reservoir to the base of the crossbow cylinder to inject air and generate sufficient pressure for firing.
"Crossbows are mere toys against Dreadlords!" One Dreadlord unfolded massive black wings, menacingly hovering over Liu Zhenshake.
"I’ll bury both you and your arrogance on this Martial Arts Platform!" Another Dreadlord blocked Liu’s rear.
Finally, the third Dreadlord silently took his position.
"You son of a—!" Liu Zhenshake cursed.
