Chapter 1383: Chapter 393: A Rare Opportunity in a Thousand Years
Netherworld Guardians, also known as Adidasma, this name that sends shivers down one’s spine originates from the evil lineage and bloodline of an ancient demon from the Netherworld.
As the guardian of the Blackfall Blood River crossing, Adidasma bears the divine duty bestowed by the Nether Gods, which is to slaughter and annihilate.
According to the ranks of Magical Beasts on the Aegean Continent, Adidasma’s individual combat power should be classified as nearly Super-level Warcraft. If judged by the natural laws of the Aegean Continent, Netherworld Guardians are akin to wild wolves roaming the wastelands, and although they may not be as powerful as Ligers, they should not be underestimated.
The Aegean Continent’s Undead Magic and Dark Magic, along with the Demon Clan’s arcane necromancy and spirits-summoning sorcery, can all summon bloodthirsty creatures from the Otherworld through the aura of death and mysterious incantations. Amongst them, the formidable and irascible creatures of the Netherworld always hold an unshakeable protagonist role.
However, it is undeniable that the summoning of powerful Otherworld creatures often equates to a daring gamble for Mages.
The breath of life to these bloodthirsty Otherworld creatures is like the scent of malt wine to Dwarves; lethal. One misstep, and these Otherworld summons could turn on the Mage controlling the magical conduit as their first target for ripping and devouring.
To summon a Netherworld Guardian to assist in a battle, one would need to be at least of the rank of a high-level Mage, according to the Undead spells’ abilities. Yet, the Dragon Witch Queen Axianu forcibly constructed a large temporal-spatial transformation channel using Undead sorcery! Given the pack-like communal instincts of the Netherworld Guardians, akin to wolf packs and ants, a feast was just ahead, making it unthinkable for them not to come in droves to this sightseeing.
The move by the Dragon Witch Queen Axianu indeed came out looking both desperate and reckless.
Regrettably... she wedged herself against Liu Zhenhan, the roughest block of meat under the starry sky.
The first Netherworld Guardian to leap out of the blood-soaked Gate of Bone Tomb was startled at the sight of four Beamon Giant Beasts waddling towards it like ducks, nearly causing it to collapse in shock-----------This world is truly too small. The far-reaching fame of the Aegean Continent’s dominant golden-furred Giant Beasts had spread to every inch of prosperous lands and nearly every forgotten nook, and the Netherworld was no exception.
Compared to a regular Beamon Giant Beast, the Netherworld Guardian Adidasma probably didn’t differ much in size. However, the four Beamon Giant Beasts that appeared in front of the "Gate of Bone Tomb" stood twice as tall and were significantly larger in girth!
Such an enormous disparity is straightforwardly the difference in stature between a Goblin and a Tauren!
The four golden-furred Giant Beasts were like four towering mountains, casting their vast shadows over the Netherworld Guardian’s forehead, burying its vision and extinguishing the creature’s vigorous fighting spirit.
Liu Zhenhan brought out two bamboo lounge chairs and a massive bamboo umbrella from his Seven-degree Golden Spatial Ring. He lay leisurely in Lotus Petal Valley, watching the ridiculous, yet fascinating scene unfold before him-----------from behind "Gate of Bone Tomb," the irate and bloodthirsty roars rose and fell in succession, with countless Netherworld Guardians awaiting their chance to hunt in the new world. However, the three Netherworld Guardian vanguards who squeezed out in front of "Gate of Bone Tomb" blocked their companions’ path and froze in place, their ugly ram-horned heads craning upwards, their enormous blue compound eyes radiating a look of despair only found in the moments before death.
The four Beamon Giant Beasts were still swaggering forward, compressing the space even tighter.
Suddenly, one particularly large Adidasma with especially blood-red skin and especially deep-blue compound eyes came to its senses, waving its robust arms and emitting a series of commanding roars at the Beamon Giant Beasts, a succession of cryptic and difficult-to-understand words continuously spouting from its mouth, sounding somewhat like rhythmically explicit frog croaks------------this was obviously a unique language of the Netherworld.
In the Aegean Canon, many scholars have long believed that Netherworld creatures do not possess the capability for language. They communicated through mental vibrations, but today’s scene clearly overturned this academic hypothesis.
To have a mighty Netherworld Guardian take the initiative to greet was indeed unprecedented in the Aegean Continent.
Liu Zhenhan, holding Guoguo and Ji Sikaibi in his arms, was lying on the bamboo bed, laughing so much that he was nearly out of breath; even the intelligence of a Base Dragon could understand a few words, much less comprehend an entire foreign language.
Eighty Ymir Minotaur warriors and two Hill Kings were tidying their weapons on the side, readying themselves for the great battle that could unfold any moment, with the knowledge that Phantom Beasts did not inherently possess combat instincts, causing a sense of unease in their hearts.
"Rest assured!" Liu Zhenhan said to his subordinates, who were clearly disturbed, "If it were a Super-level Warcraft, indeed our combat-incapable Phantom Beasts would be in a spot of trouble, but Netherworld Guardians fall short! They are not Blood-wing Netherworld Demons; they cannot fly, nor is their attack power sufficient to harm the Phantom Beasts! They’d be crushed by impact alone!"
The Dragon Witch Queen Axianu lay on another bamboo chair, as if prodded by Liu’s words, suddenly coughed softly, scattering blood specks like little red plums all around.
Axianu was a sore sight; after Gerein rescued her, Ji Sikaibi covered her with a cloak.
After the coughing bout, the Dragon Witch Queen’s delicate face became so pale it was nearly translucent, her lips tainted with traces of blood that added a sense of decadent and frozen beauty to her pitiful and exhausted demeanor.
