Chapter 1165 - 314 Death Road
Chapter 1165: Chapter 314 Death Road
The Evil-eye Tyrant, transformed into a Netherworld Fire Skeleton, dutifully took over the mission from the Tide Lord, catching his master from the air. Staggering under the immense weight, he patrolled the ground below. As a Super-level Warcraft, it managed not to embarrass itself as the Starry Sky Gate had done, proving able to bear the heavy burden of its master Liu’s body.
The Tide Lord Gerein staggered back into the sky, his massive body covered in a thick layer of red ants, making him resemble a red monster whose skin writhed all over. Although he knew Ring Spirits did not feel pain, Liu couldn’t bear to watch any longer. With a wave of his hand, he summoned Gerein back into the "Ring of the Death Lord." As a halo of black flowers twisted through the air and vanished, the tiny red figures fell towards the ground like a revolting spring rain.
"Boom!"
The Mulanese’s Giant Dragon, along with the Dragon Knight on its back, smashed the entire rock desert, shaking violently as though trembling in terror! Waves upon waves of red ants overwhelmed the Giant Beast. In an instant, Liu even saw the seven-meter-long, three-pointed double-edged blade embedded in the dragon’s head completely covered by a blood-red hue!
The crackling sound of gnawing was the only melody! On this battlefield, both the Mulanese and the Beamons seemed utterly insignificant!
The Zeppelin Aircraft were now approaching the Mulanese’s main formation. Liu, no matter how fast he tried to move, could not keep up and could only watch helplessly as they dropped fireballs along the way, knocking down returning Wolf Riders.
Surveying the enemy’s formation from the air filled Liu with pain when he realized countless Wolf Riders had bravely broken out of the ant range. They were only a short distance from striking at the enemy’s formation, but one by one, they plunged into the hidden treacherous pits, like dumplings. Clouds of sand and camel hide flew into the air, and Liu, with his remarkable eyesight, saw a shocking truth——in front of the Mulanese formation lay a long trench!
These trenches were cleverly concealed with camel hides and sand. From the ground, mounds of sand obscured the view, while from the air, the Mulanese’s camouflages, the mountains’ shadows, and their powerful Magnetic Storm Air Force made it impossible for the Beamon Scouts to make any close, detailed observations!
This long trench, opened across the horizon, allowed the red ants to pour in continuously as if merging into a river or sea.
So it was a rift!
Liu was overwhelmed with indignant sorrow. No wonder the Mulanese were so audacious! They were positioned on the north side of a large ground fissure, and these cunning enemies had crafted the perfect disguise with camel hides and sand over the crack, not only deceiving the Wolf Riders but also tricking the ant swarm!
No wonder they were indifferent to the overwhelming ant swarm because they faced no danger! The only ones to suffer were Beamons on the south side of the fissure!
The Beamon’s Wolf Riders were finished!
Eight thousand valiant Wolf Cavalry, relying on their lightning-fast mobility and braving the danger of certain death, broke through five miles of ant roads, only to be met with a chasm they could not leap across! They wanted to die with honor in battle, but even that became a luxury!
The last honor of a Beamon warrior was now not to be engulfed by the ant swarm but to be buried by the rift!
No more tears were left as the corners of Liu’s eyes burst and bled!
Ever since coming to this world, he had come to see himself as a true Beamon. This disaster-stricken race, with its own glories and declines, and despite many reprehensible habits, every Beamon was Liu’s kin. Watching these brethren being swallowed by the raging Ant Army was the most unbearable torment in the world!
Suddenly, the cloudless blue sky became shrouded with clusters of black clouds, and bolts of lightning snaked down from the air!
This was the Nebula Chain Lightning! The Beamon priests’ song of death!
Again, the bloodied Beamon priests began to repeat the poignant scene from the Heigar battle!
"Faster! Faster!" Liu wished he could kick the Netherworld Fire Skeleton beneath him to death for its unbearably slow flying speed!
The ghostly Xu Dela approached from the air, his jelly-like body blocking the Netherworld Fire Skeleton, frantically gesticulating at Liu with nine heads chirping incomprehensibly.
Seeing his boss was still clueless, the ghostly Xu Dela approached Liu’s hand, desperately pointing at the "Ring of the Death Lord."
Liu slapped his forehead and cursed himself for being a fool. He was indeed muddled! He had forgotten that Gerein could be summoned a second time, so he hurriedly released the Tide Lord from the ring again!
Liu was filled with immense sorrow. He knew his thoughts were a chaotic tangle, and no matter how calm he pretended to be, it was pointless. Perhaps there was another way to rescue the Beamons trapped in the apocalyptic swarm of ants, but he simply couldn’t think of one——for the first time in his life, Liu hated his own helplessness and mediocrity! This ugly feeling, like ten thousand ants gnawing at his heart, burrowing into his bones, and squeezing his soul!
The Tide Lord Gerein, disfigured from the ant bites, once again spread his Ice Wind Wings, carrying Liu towards the Beamon infantry square surrounded by a red sea. Although Gerein appeared to be severely wounded, it hardly mattered. To an undead, appearances were always secondary. Even if Gerein was reduced to a skeletal frame, once his energy was replenished in the "Ring of the Death Lord," he’d be as lively as ever.
