Chapter 1142: Chapter 305: Backyard on Fire?_3
Since last year, the ultimate weapon of Pompei, "Double-powder Gourd," under planned cultivation, had reached a stockpile of five hundred. Now, all were secured in the ammunition depot with Ice Beads. Given the current amount of "Life Spring," quickly nurturing another five hundred gourds was not an issue. However, to save resources, the Butterfly People, adept at tending to plants, also cultivated a batch of gourds on the fertile land watered heavily with "Life Spring." Although the harvest had to wait until autumn, it was better than idly watching their stores deplete.
"Damn it, no more hesitation!" After a long consideration, Jose shockingly decided to deploy all the large Double-powder Gourds to deal with the Mulanese and the city of Kalimantan.
He was well aware of the power of these gourds. Each one was equivalent to an incendiary bomb, with an effective radius of at least ten meters, theoretically capable of killing twenty enemies each, allowing these gourds to potentially eliminate ten thousand enemies—of course, that was theoretical damage. Actual results on the battlefield could vary, but the massive destructive power was certain.
Jose initially wanted to save these gourds for use against the fallen Elves or the Demon Clan, but now he had to overextend himself, given the formidable strength of the Mulanese.
During this time, four hundred forty-six Pompeian Aerial Troops hurriedly equipped their mounts with amber-colored, sand-colored Battle Armor. In addition to the troops, several consecrated magical beasts also donned amber armors. Except for the Beamon Giant Beast of Shaman Chekin, which needed no armor, not a single one was missed. Jose even casually equipped Gomes’s magical beast with a DIY Battle Armor made of amber and multicolored sand, causing his young nephew to joyfully shadow his cheap brother-in-law all day, scrounging numerous meals and drinks.
The magical beasts of Golinny and Gomes had never made an appearance in the national sacrificial Olympics or the Transverse Mountain Range battle for a reason.
But now, after Golinny and Jose developed a flirtatious relationship, of course, she would no longer keep secrets from old Jose—everyone knows that the initial period of confirming a relationship between a man and a woman is the most intensely affectionate, desperate phase. Golinny was almost at the point of giving her heart entirely to Jose, that old rogue.
It wasn’t surprising that the siblings kept things close to their chest. Gomes’s magical beast was a Helrant Tiger Vulture, a plant-type magical beast on the same level as the Gryphon. However, Tiger Vultures had long been extinct on the Aegean Continent and were considerably rarer than Gryphons. Using it in battle and risking its death would undoubtedly infuriate its master enough to make them want to jump off a balcony.
Golinny’s magical beast didn’t need armor, for her beast was a giant snail from among the most special in the metal element beasts, the Mercury Element Beasts. Only two types of Mercury Element Beasts had been discovered in the entire Aegean Continent, but both were extremely rare and small. This giant snail was an undiscovered species.
Lily’s giant snail was as big as a Larza Beast. Judging by its magical attack potency, it should be considered a third-tier creature among high-level magical beasts.
However, what surprised Jose was that Lily had devised a rather unconventional usage for her magical beast—its sufficiently large body could mimic mercury and freely change shape. Golinny could make the giant snail morph into armor and attach to her body as a magical armor. She could also command the snail to attach to her followers as a hidden weapon against enemies—encountering a warrior whose armor suddenly sprays three mercury blades could catch even the most skilled combatant off guard.
"Damn, these are all collectible, limited edition magical beasts! It’s such a pity to use them on the battlefield!" Jose said incessantly while helping the siblings don Golinny’s vibrant amber and multicolored sand Battle Armor, almost green with envy.
"Do you and I need to separate who belongs to whom?" Golinny glanced reproachfully at the old rogue.
"Yes, yes, brother-in-law, we are family after all!" Gomes was rambling on as well. His calling him brother-in-law was purely coaxed out by some jade snacks, not out of sincerity, this silly kid!
Liu Zhenhan was immediately relieved, thinking that after all, they were all family, so there was no reason for him to feel jealous!
The Shaman Chekin was indeed a key member of Liu Zhenhan’s upper echelon. Ironically, for someone like old Liu, a majestic king of the ritual, to have more Mages than priests under his command was a unique "emerald phenomenon" in the Bimon Kingdom! Both Shamans, returning to the Underground World to summon new Magical Beasts, Chekin’s aunt Sophia and cousin Moji were rather humble Beamons. They kept insisting that the Magical Beasts they summoned in the Underground World were nothing special, until they brought out the amber Battle Armor, Liu Zhenhan realized their gains were actually quite decent. Sophia’s Magical Beast, a Fungus-toothed Tiger, was summoned from the underground mushroom forests—a lower-tier high-level plant-based Magical Beast likely evolved from mushrooms, with a rather unsightly appearance that might lead one to certain associations; whereas, Moji’s Magical Beast was a mid-level Magical Beast—Underground Fire Lizard, summoned from a magma fissure, as large as a Multi-footed giant horse, with thick skin and flesh.
Given Sophia’s battle song skills comparable to those of Great Shaman Wei An, although the Magical Beast was a bit misfit for her talent, it was still passable.
Three days had passed in the blink of an eye. Liu Zhenhan was kept on his toes, and upon reflection, he was quite frightened. Just coordinating the troops of Aegean was this hectic; if he had to manage the entire Expeditionary Army, he surely would have fallen apart.
However, it was also strange that Liu Zhenhan had lingered around Yale Oasis for exactly three days, yet Mourinho hadn’t arrived, which was quite beyond everyone’s expectations. Given the personality of the Swan High Priest, such a situation should have been completely impossible.
Could it be that some major chaos had erupted in the kingdom? Liu Zhenhan felt a slight chill inside—human realms should not have intervened, as Saint Francisco and Pompei were getting ready to battle it out, so it must be the Fallen Elves.
A fire in the backyard, the first to catch would be Aegean. The old rascal urgently arranged for the Musketeer Aerial Cavalry to go to Caiyu City for information. Hence, he himself had to drag out another day in Yale Oasis, chatting with the now-awake Joan of Arc till the afternoon when the scouting Musketeer Aerial Cavalry returned. The Fallen Elves were absent any activity; Caiyu City was as quiet as ever.
This puzzled Liu Zhenhan. By the fourth day, considering the flying speed of the Fire Phoenix, even crawling should have brought Mourinho here—why was he still not seen?
With military affairs urgent as fire, Liu Zhenhan could no longer wait. After explaining the situation to the Andulan elders, he took a batch of amber and rainbow sandstone for the mammoth’s armor and hurriedly set out to catch up with the main army.
