Chapter 1135: Chapter 302: Man’s Plans Are No Match for Heaven’s_2

The camel milk wine rippled in circle after circle, creating waves as they collided with the bowl, like a river swept by a strong wind.

"What exactly are you still hesitating about?" Liu Zhenhan frowned as he gazed intently at Gortani, "We have no way out today! If we back down this time, we can forget about ever turning our fate around in this lifetime! I will not run away anymore, what about you?"

"My brother and sister said... if I marry you... they will kill themselves..." Gortani’s lips trembled like roses in a storm, causing one’s heart to flutter with unease.

"You actually believe that?" Liu Zhenhan could not help but let out a wry laugh.

"Of course, I believe them!"

"Then why did you still show up?"

"I knocked them out before I came here." Gortani said hurriedly, "Richard, let’s think of a long-term plan later. Please don’t pressure me, I beg you! I cannot lose my brother and sister!"

"To think you are a warrior!" Liu Zhenhan sighed, "Do you know why the Sirens could control your thoughts? Do you know why you are being manipulated by the Evil-eye Tyrant? Because you are simply too weak! Anything can become a concern for you!!"

"But..."

"There are no ’buts’!" Liu Zhenhan brutally interrupted Gortani, "You consider your family, why don’t they consider you? I can accept you leaving me, but I can’t accept being treated as a stranger each time I see you!"

"Is it really impossible?" Gortani asked with a dim expression.

"I will handle everything." Liu Zhenhan clinked his gourd bowl with Gortani’s, "What you need to do now, is to be with me."

"Do we really have to burn all our bridges?" Gortani asked in a low voice, her head down.

"This time we are burning our boats!" Liu Zhenhan drained the Heji wine in one gulp, turned the empty gourd bowl upside down, and a few last drops formed into a milk droplet at the rim, hanging there, about to drop.

Liu Zhenhan’s gaze burned as he looked at Gortani intently.

The graceful swan hesitated for a moment, then with a complex expression, she raised the gourd bowl to her lips and, gritting her teeth, she downed it all in one go.

"I will never let you become the second Cui Beixi, no one can separate us." Liu Zhenhan threw away the gourd bowl, pulling the graceful swan tightly into his embrace.

Gortani’s delicate face flushed with a shy, crimson hue, and she curled up in Liu Zhenhan’s arms, her feathers rustling softly.

"What should we do next?" Liu Zhenhan’s tense face finally relaxed, breaking into a smile.

Gortani closed her eyes, and with trembling slender fingers, she gently cradled Liu Zhenhan’s face, slowly standing on her tiptoes.

Liu Zhenhan grinned, putting on a bear-hugging-a-log expression, and just as he was about to bite down, a sharp, rapid mist jetted out from the metal wrist guards on both of Gortani’s hands, shooting straight at his face.

Because the graceful swan had been holding Liu Zhenhan’s chin, the two jets of mist from her wrist guards were like a pair of scissors, streaming directly into his nostrils.

Like a giant tree falling, Liu Zhenhan crashed onto the carpet with a "thud."

The air filled with the heady scent of intoxicating orchids as the candle flame flickered wildly.

"Quite a ’Seven-Day Drunk’," Gortani breathed a sigh of relief, her body going limp as she too slumped onto the luxuriant carpet.

Outside the tent, a noisy tumult arose, growing louder by the moment, and the unceasing sound of swords being drawn was heard, with Fat Luo’s voice booming, "Anyone who steps forward, I’ll split him in two!"

Gortani brushed the hair by her ears and staggered to her feet from the carpet, leaning on the doorway. She lifted the pearl curtain and weakly said to the noisy crowd outside, "Stop the racket!"

The Feilengcui Warriors turned back in surprise, their eyes fixed on Gortani.

"Sis! Are you okay?" Gomes forced his way out from among the Ostrich Warriors, shouting loudly.

The lad wore an old set of armor and had smudged his face and wings with ash, looking odd and out of place – not like a swan nor like an Ostrit, rather like a crow.

"Didn’t you hear what I just said?" Fat Luo, with one hand holding General Boban and the other pointing a sword at the advancing Gomes, stood before a line drawn with a stick in the sand five yards ahead; Gomes now stood right on that line.

"Step forward one more step, and I’ll chop him down!" Fat Luo’s roar made the ground tremble, "Orephin, besides bananas, has no patience for anything else!"

"That’s enough! No more commotion!" Gortani frowned and impatiently waved at the Feilengcui Warriors, "Why are all of you crowding around here? Disperse at once!"

"Boss! The outer security detail is the responsibility of your personal guards. If you insist we leave, please order these bods to leave first," Nedved stepped forward with arms crossed, "Otherwise, we, the guards, can’t possibly abandon our posts."

"All Ostrits, hear me! Go back to the feast immediately! Don’t mess up my mood by sticking around here!" Gortani gave Gomes a subtle wink.

"Move out, move out!" Gomes immediately saw the signal, brightening up and began herding all the Ostrich Warriors like chasing ducks.

"Retreat, retreat!" The Ostrich Officers also understood at once, having been bellicose just moments ago.
