Chapter 1107: Chapter 289: The Final Stake
With a "whoosh" after another, Taige warriors coldly stared at the corpses dragged by their tiger tails, casually flicking them onto the small mountain of bodies.
Seven Mulan Mojie turned out to be fortunate, for only twenty Taige warriors had taken the field, in pairs, and these seven Mulan Cavalry lived a few seconds longer than the rest.
Witnessing the cooperation of double tails, these Mulan Mojie were somewhat at a loss, their pupils threaded with blood beginning to flicker with despair, their thick beards trembling as were their bodies.
All the fierce Tiger Warriors coldly watched the last seven Mulan Mojie.
Before the twenty fierce Tiger Warriors could step forward again, the seven Mulan Cavalry, with all their might, furiously reversed their scimitars and slit their own throats.
The Dile people, circling on the outskirts, mounted on camels, stared blankly at everything unfolding before them, their bow and arrows and lantern pants violently shaking as if convulsing.
A few braver ones eventually managed to loose arrows, but these were easily pinched between the fingers by the invincible Beamon warriors in front of them.
The thousand Dile Archers were part of the four thousand Archer prisoners taken in when the Mulan Empire conquered Dile country, granted a chance to regain their dignity by the handsome commander of the Flying Camel Army, allowing them to become mercenaries for the entire army.
These Dile people, renowned for the "Golden Arrow Festival" of the vast Taklamago desert, utterly disappointed today, performing as complete incompetents.
"Reinhardt Swordsmen! Reinforce the Bloodhoof contingent immediately!" Kahn, the corps commander, roared as he dispatched the first reserve force. Since they had dealt with the risk of the Archers being encircled, supporting the Tauren became urgent.
More than three hundred Reinhardt Swordsmen charged through the central area nonchalantly, past the Dile Archers without a second glance, heading straight for the fiercely battling Tauren and Snow Camel Cavalry. The entry of this fresh force created utter chaos; Mulan Cavalry attempting to block them were, without exception, cleaved in two, several high-ranking Reinhardt warriors, nearing the Mulan Cavalry, unleashed their immensely lethal "Rolling Thunder Chops," creating a whirlwind of sword blades that cleaved through enemy bodies while stirring up a faint rumble of wind and thunder in the sky.
Teams of Taige warriors passed through the ranks of Centaur Archers, standing behind the House Archers.
Ronaldo, the commander of "Biga’s Wind," planted the blood-red battle standard in front of him and, with a spread of hands, gestured a "please" toward the nearby Dile Archers.
In that instant, all House Archers twirled their purplewood longbows with a "whirring" sound, gripping them tightly as the bowstrings vibrated with a "hum," their expressions holding all the pride of the world!
The Dile Archers looked at each other nervously, utterly clueless.
It was not until a downpour of arrows struck that these inexperienced Dile people realized the opposing Archers were challenging them!
Like sickles slicing through oats! Like a flood breaking through ditches!
"Biga’s Wind" decimated the Dile Archers with one volley, leaving the pitiable camels and the Dile people’s agonized moans to form the battlefield’s most ludicrous scene!
This was valor and confidence! The military soul of Beamon!
Countless enemies have had their morale completely shattered by the valor and confidence of Beamon warriors before; the Dile were not the first, nor would they be the last.
No form of combat damages a warrior’s nerves like Beamon’s seemingly foolish challenges!
Such an exaggerated and blatant confrontation on the battlefield, aside from Beamon, what other army would dare to act so? What other nation could maintain such composure of a once-great country on a day of severe decline?
The inevitable archery duel had begun.
With no way to retreat for the Dile, a reserve of five hundred Flying Camel Cavalry stood behind them; these elite Mulan Cavalry’s scimitars most enjoyed slicing open the throats of cowards!
Nothing was left but to fight!
Under the commander’s orders, all House Archers executed an array of dazzling actions, such as somersaults, squats, and crawls—indeed, this was a drill.
Every time the sound of "zing, zing" came from cutting the string, a group of Dile Archers would fall.
Constant movement meant the area surrounding "Biga’s Wind" was littered with random arrows, while on the Dile’s side, heaps of fallen, bleeding camels and archers covered the ground.
The distinction between amateurs and professionals became apparent at this moment.
Hitting the bullseye in training and performing on the actual battlefield were two different things. Amid the intense atmosphere of battle, there was no spare time for Archers to aim. Instinct was the only reliable basis in such circumstances; even the most experienced Archers could not perform to their full potential.
The seemingly rigid and mechanical movements of the House contingent caused substantial confusion among most Dile Archers, who were terrified to even track stationary targets, let alone moving ones.
Had the Dile known about "Biga’s Wind" and their glorious combat record, they would have realized that their actions were no different from suicide.
Among the Dile, there were high-level Archers, but even these exceptional Dile sharpshooters paled in comparison with "Biga’s Wind" in both quality and quantity. The two leaders of "Biga’s Wind," the Ronaldo brothers, along with ten esteemed archer squad captains, swiftly eliminated these Dile sharpshooters.
