Chapter 1090: Chapter 283: The Beginning of the Storm_3

Richard knew that Prince Lionheart had not revealed all his secrets, and since he chose not to say more, Richard laughed it off and asked no further.

"Your Excellency Chief of Staff, do you have any thoughts?" Prince Kahn looked to his chief military advisor, General Pinto, seeing as everyone else had failed to make sense of the situation, his eyes fixed on him.

"Your Highness, Your Majesty, my lords." Like all the sage and astute Fawkes staff, Chief of Staff General Pinto struck an elegant and confident pose, "As for the so-called secret troops of the enemy, we can analyze them based on their characteristics! The Frost Giants and Desert Dwarfs are powerfully strong, likely reserved for a decisive strike; and Mainz, which refers to the Desert Elves, are nothing more than precise archers; as for the other Desert Beamons, I can’t be entirely certain at the moment, but I imagine their combat methods boil down to a few types, certainly suited to the strengths of their race!"

"Makes sense! Each race’s warriors have their own strengths, and as the commander-in-chief, you must prioritize utilizing them to full potential! No one would use Elves as melee fighters, just as Dwarfs will never be suited to ranged combat!" Richard wholly agreed with this opinion.

"Indeed, we must adhere to the principle of utilizing everything to its fullest, my respected Your Majesty Richard!" Chief of Staff Pinto nodded and continued with a smile, "Today we dispatched four groups of Aerial Scouts, almost the entire force, and the opponent’s aerial unit, the Vulture People, were indeed formidable! Comparable to the Harpies of the ancient Goliath tribe, according to reports from the surviving Biao warriors who escaped, these Vulture People wield a black oil lamp that emits multicolored lightning with a range of up to one hundred and fifty yards! Extremely powerful! Hence, the secret troops of our opponent might be different from us in terms of weaponry!"

"Magic Weapons? Really? Has the Mulan Empire become so powerful?" Richard frowned, almost in disbelief.

"Not quite sure." Chief of Staff Pinto hesitated and shook his head, "According to the report from the Biao warriors, the enemy’s Vulture Air Force numbers up to two hundred. If all of them are equipped with magic weapons that unleash lightning, even the Saint Francis Empire wouldn’t be able to manage that! The vanguard corps pressing towards the Yale Oasis has three to four brigades of forces. If they stick to their current route, I believe we’ll encounter them the day after tomorrow!"

"Kalimantan City still has thirty-seven thousand Regular Army troops; it’s unlikely they would all dispatch here. This suggests the enemy’s main force is at least thirty thousand strong! That’s ten brigades more than us!" Prince Kahn nodded.

"That’s just an extra ten thousand men!" General Pier Kageman laughed heartily, "Our Expeditionary Army’s Bimon warriors can hold their own against an enemy ten times their size!"

"You’re underestimating the enemy, General Kageman!" Chief of Staff Pinto said displeasedly, "Don’t forget, they have a renowned commander! A commander capable of conquering nations, how could you take him lightly? While there’s no need to overestimate our opponent, a healthy respect is necessary!"

"With all due respect, my Chief of Staff Excellency, you’re being too cautious!" Prince Kahn chuckled and waved dismissively, "Desert warfare is quite straightforward; no matter how formidable the commander, he won’t be able to set traps! In open-field head-on combat, our Beamon warriors are amongst the best! In fact... these days, what great commanders are there? With good reconnaissance before the battle and a strong overall military quality, no tricks can be effective!"

"They have secret troops..." Chief of Staff Pinto still seemed uneasy.

"What does it matter what special troops they have? After two battles everything will be clear! Even if the enemy’s air force has magic weapons, so what? Our ritual teams have seven Smey priests! Is ’Sky Banning Song’ just for show? No air force can fly over Smey skies!" General Wolf Gutti scoffed, interrupting the military advisor’s drivel.

"General Gutti, your words are to my taste precisely!" Prince Kahn laughed heartily, "Order all Scouts to cease taking to the skies immediately! Our air force doesn’t fly as quickly as theirs, nor do we have as many, there’s no point in going to our deaths! But if they dare come, I guarantee they won’t fly back!"

"Are you preparing to take action, Your Highness?" General Gutti smirked.

"Since the enemy’s vanguard corps is only a hundred and fifty miles from us, we can’t show no response! Are our Scouts dying in vain?" Prince Kahn ordered with a cold smile, "Tomorrow morning, ’the Whip of War’ mixed brigade of Liger warriors, ’Wind of Bija’ Centaur Archers brigade, ’Blood Hoof’ Buer Tribe armored brigade, and I will meet this vanguard of Mulan robbers!"

"Just taking three thousand men? And no Cavalry?" Richard found it strange.

"Too many men, and I fear the enemy will turn yellow-bellied!" Prince Kahn laughed loudly, "Without Cavalry, they should feel less afraid of us, right?"

"What if the enemy chooses to flee if they can’t beat us?" General Kageman asked curiously.

"That’s exactly what I want them to do. Once they flee, they will gravitate towards their main force! The Expeditionary Army will be right on their heels for a decisive battle! What our Beamon warriors crave most is such a frontal, hard-hitting fight!" Prince Kahn confidently issued his order, "All units will break camp tomorrow! Maintain a thirty-mile distance from the vanguard, and once the enemy collapses, the Wolf Riders will chase them down their route, but keep the right distance, waiting to strike their main force. With that, Princess Nancy of Kalimantan City is sure to be rescued!"
