Chapter 1083: Chapter 281: Crippled Guard_2
Gazing into the desolate desert swept by cold winds, how could Liu be relieved of his worries? He could only sigh.
Placing the coral beauty from the space ring onto the sandy ground, Liu took out a handkerchief and delicately wiped her face.
Ever since he had learned that the coral beauty was pregnant, Liu had made it a routine to spend some time with her every day, quietly talking to her, telling her about the customs of the continent. He had also given this coral beauty a melodious name——Tan Ya.
For some reason, every time Liu looked into Tan Ya’s eyes, he felt an instant peace of mind, and he thought that he might have fallen in love with this woman, although she was a mysteriously silent living being.
Guoguo also adored Tan Ya, liking to hang onto her protruding belly like a tree otter, pressing its ears against Tan Ya’s belly to listen to the baby’s heartbeat. The four-month-old baby could already produce faint heartbeats, and Liu had also secretly listened to this heavenly sound.
As a fatherly smile spread across his face, a sneaky rustling of footsteps came from the bushes behind him.
"Whoever you are, better stand there and don’t move," Liu said without turning around, his hand continuing to wipe Tan Ya’s wrists with the handkerchief.
The footsteps immediately ceased.
Guoguo picked up the Evil Eye brand ball, pressed it against its forehead, and tugged at Liu’s clothes.
Liu lit a cigar, clenched it in his teeth, wiped his hands with the handkerchief, and as he turned around, he exhaled a thick cloud of smoke.
Two giants, seemingly constructed of stone, were kneeling on one knee in a cactus cluster not far behind Liu. They deeply bowed their heads, unaware of the pain of the thorns piercing their flesh, daring not to move.
"Bartel, Buckley, why aren’t you watching the live coverage of Emperor and instead creeping around to find me?" Liu said as he pulled over the axe case that had been released along with Tan Ya from the space ring, and sat on it.
These two named Bartel and Buckley were actually Gray Dwarves. The reason both reached a staggering height of five meters was because they were rare "Kings of the Hill" among the Gray Dwarfs, a variant born only on minute occasions within the Dwarf race.
Giants and Dwarfs shared Titan bloodlines. Such a divergence in their lineage, though rare, was logically consistent. Liu’s personal guard, Iverson, was a Napoleon Giant, merely 1.2 meters tall.
Dwarfs were an immensely strong race, comparable to the Beamon from the Buer Tribe and Tauren. The Kings of the Hill among Dwarfs had even greater strength. However, being strong meant little; during the battle in the underground Flame Mountain Valley, the Grand Guard Rodman, under a brilliant aura and magical protection, managed to defeat two Kings of the Hill before the Moorish Army single-handedly.
At that moment, kneeling in front of Liu was Bartel, one of those Kings of the Hill, admittedly brave and fierce, yet unfortunately encountering a calamity. He had taken a military crossbow bolt through his lung; another King of the Hill, Buckley, on that day, was shot in the right eye by Liu with a Wind System-empowered Ancient Power Fire Gun during the pursuit of Fat Luo. His thrown Storm Hammer, due to Fat Luo’s thorn armor aura, caused a concussion and blinded one eye.
In Mosoburada City, Liu had proposed to Prince Benitez that 200 Dwarf Blacksmiths were needed as a condition to return to the surface. The cunning Blood Elf Prince, keeping his promise, also included these two half-dead cripples.
At that time, these two Hill Giants were critically injured and were handed over to the Elves, barely clinging to life, relying entirely on their strong vitality for the last struggle.
It wasn’t that the Blood Elves lacked priests to treat them, but rather because the battle in Flame Mountain Valley had caused immense losses to the Moorish Elves. Not to mention the heavy casualties among the soldiers, but half of the Mages also perished. These two Kings of the Hill were the first to fall, leading to a moral collapse, which not only saddened Prince Moore but also, since these two Kings of the Hill were virtually useless even if healed, simply included them in the slave list.
The priests of Andulan were much more humane than the Blood Elf priests and, after much effort, the elder of Andulan eventually managed to save these two Kings of the Hill, who had lost too much blood. After several months of recovery, they had only just recently healed.
In fact, if it weren’t for Fat Luo being injured first, reducing the strength of his strike, Bartel wouldn’t be standing here today.
"Sir, we want to be with you," both Kings of the Hill said in unison.
"The task at the underground arms factory is also significant," Liu shrugged his brows, took a puff of the cigar, "As you’ve seen the situation in the Elves, the term ’slave’ actually doesn’t exist, and you working as blacksmiths are still helping me."
"Both of us possess Elemental Power that ordinary Dwarfs cannot comprehend. We are true Dwarf warriors born for battle, and we don’t want to be buried in forging!"
"Our bodies can still continue to fight!"
