Chapter 1081: Chapter 280: Ridiculous _3
"He..." Joan of Arc’s chest heaved violently, as she held back her words for a long time, yet she ultimately still couldn’t summon the courage to utter the words that followed.
"Joan of Arc, rest assured, I’ll do everything in my power to find the Spiritual Medicine that will extend your father’s life." Liu, profoundly serious, nodded his head: "Although I don’t know for sure if the flesh of the Eastern Dragon truly possesses the miraculous effect of eternal youth, both Guoguo and I have eaten the Domineering Dragon Egg. When the time comes, I’ll give my blood to your father first to see if it helps."
"He... he... he told me... through divination... he said... you and I... will have a child..." Joan of Arc finally mustered the courage, trembling like a leaf in the wind: "...just in six days... Father wants to see this child with his own eyes before he passes away..."
Liu was so shocked he nearly tumbled to the ground.
"I’m really scared... I don’t want it to be like this... I’ve been holding on for so many days... Today, I just couldn’t keep it to myself any longer... I’m afraid..." Tears streamed down Joan of Arc’s face, her rose petal-like lips completely devoid of color. As soon as she finished speaking, she threw herself into Liu’s embrace, her helpless and lost sobs so heartrending that any person with a conscience would feel their heart break along with her.
"So that’s why you called me ’Sir’ today, isn’t it?" Liu chuckled bitterly as he stroked Joan of Arc’s hair, soft as clouds: "Has this problem been troubling you for a long time? You finally gathered enough courage to tell me tonight when everyone else is away, right?"
Joan of Arc nodded vigorously in his arms.
"Joan of Arc, don’t be like Gortani, keeping everything to yourself." Liu let out a long sigh, and with the utmost solemnity, he said word by word to Joan of Arc: "I admit Master Puskas is a fine Mage, but Prophecy Method is probabilistic, and the prophecy that you will conceive my child in six days is even more preposterous! As long as you don’t wish it, no one dares to force you into doing something you don’t want to do! No one can!"
"I’m scared... I’m really so scared..." Joan of Arc lifted her tear-streaked face.
"Afraid of what? Silly girl, do I look like a bad guy?" Liu laughed heartily, playfully flicking the Nun’s nose: "No one dares to force you! Now I swear on Guoguo’s life to you, I absolutely won’t do anything bad to you! I never even thought of doing such a thing! Am I that shameless?"
"I believe you!" Joan of Arc’s tears turned to laughter: "Actually, in my heart, you have already been a good person!"
"I was always a good person," Liu chuckled bitterly.
"Before, people didn’t know what kind of person you were! I also believed that you wouldn’t do such a thing, but I was still very scared. Now I’m not afraid anymore!" Joan of Arc, excited, tiptoed and planted a big kiss on Liu’s right cheek: "Oh god... hahaha..."
"Silly girl! You talk such nonsense!" Liu subconsciously touched his face, overwhelmed by mixed emotions. The Nun’s lips were as tender as rose petals, and having been kissed by her, Liu felt a slight pang of heartache.
"To be free of worries feels so good!" Joan of Arc breathed a sigh of relief, as if a burden had been lifted, spreading her arms as she gazed up at the Xiang Pa in the sky.
"You, always unnecessarily worrying yourself!" Liu chuckled.
"Sir, I’m going back to sleep! I want to take advantage of this good mood to weave a beautiful dream!" Joan of Arc crinkled her nose and took a deep breath of the cool air, waving energetically to Liu as she ran off, her beautiful long hair trailing a faint scent of fragrant orchid into the night sky.
Liu watched Joan of Arc’s receding figure and then glanced at the Guoguo on the ground: "What the hell is this about!"
