Chapter 1061: Chapter 273 All-out Assault

The atmosphere on the battlefield seemed to have frozen; seasoned warriors knew that behind this deadly stillness often lay a forthcoming bloody battle.

"Golden Blade Mojie" Ali Dai Yi gazed at the Beamon formation while nearby, Liu had also taken his stand behind the allied formation, using a makeshift platform built from wagons and scouring the Desert People’s crude rampart walls with his Eagle Eye Telescopic Glass. A tiny parrot perched on his shoulder, dozing off with each nod.

That blasted half-circle earthwork was shaped like an eggshell, bulging slightly in the center, with the remaining walls receding in an extremely tight arc. This made it a bit tricky for Liu, the offensive commander, to manage——the protruding part of the wall and the cutting arc would naturally divide the Beamon warriors into two separate points of attack.

As for the rows of pillars behind that section of the wall that could shoot out prismatic rays, they also gave Liu a headache. Their power could not be underestimated; standard-issue weapons designed for area coverage, twelve Prism Silver Towers formed an equilateral triangle, their collective burst of fire easily covering at least two hundred square feet. Although their rate of fire was somewhat slow, once the Turun allied forces surged forth in attack, the soldiers clustering together would have no chance to dodge.

"Obischillaci! What in the world is this?" Liu was startled to see vast swathes of black smoke rising from the base of the enemy’s wall, prompting him to temporarily stop chewing on his mouthpiece of minty bamboo and hang the Eagle Eye back on his eye for a closer look. Indeed, there was smoke! This smoke was too bizarre, floating three feet above ground and lingering without dispersing, spreading ominously through the cactus thickets. Through the billowing smoke, there seemed to be beasts darting in and out.

At that moment, five Chimaera Knights flew over the Turun allied troops, their massive flesh wings creating strong currents of air as they headed straight for the central region of the Yale Oasis.

"Your Majesty... I... I think these desert bandits look like regular army personnel," said General Reyes, standing by Liu’s side, tilting his head to observe the five Chimaera Knights in the sky, feeling rather puzzled. Where did His Majesty muster so many followers wave after wave? He didn’t recall him having so many people, right?

"Robbers wouldn’t have this kind of gear; this stuff is clearly standard military issue," Liu said with a smile to the general, pointing at the enemy’s Prism Silver Towers with his Eagle Eye.

"Your Majesty, let’s let each squadron attempt a charge in waves....," General Reyes hesitated momentarily before suggesting again, "...or should we carefully reconsider? After all, the enemy outnumbers us!"

"Are you sure these robbers number four thousand?" Liu, chewing on his bamboo strip, stooped down and quietly asked the two Elf Air Cavaliers standing by the wagon.

"Yes! We couldn’t tell when these bandits were hidden in the forest, but just now when my partner descended, they suddenly surged out from all around—many warriors at once. We estimate at least four thousand men. Please, issue the attack order quickly! We don’t know what’s become of our two comrades! Your Majesty Richard, please... hurry and save them..." The two Griffin riders, beautiful female Elves, were in tears, practically on the verge of kneeling before Liu.

"Don’t say that. I’m also very concerned for the two Elf knights who have fallen into the oasis!" Liu spat out his chewed bamboo strip, frowning at the two Elves, "But we are in the midst of war! Crying over two deaths, how do you expect to fight? Even if we charge now, do you think we can save your comrades?"

"Fine! If you won’t save them, we’ll save them ourselves!" The Elves’ stubborn nature burst out, and the two who had just been in tears immediately had icy expressions. They wiped away their tears, ready to mount their Griffins’ saddles.

"Damn it! Tie them up!" Liu’s face turned stern, and with a gesture of his mouth, a few brawny warriors rushed over, grabbing the Elves by their hair and twisting their arms while kicking their knees, pinning the Elves to the scorching sand.

"Obischillaci! Even these two little fiends dare to rebel!" Liu feigned a kick at the two Elves, and seeing them shut their eyes in fright, couldn’t help but chuckle and pulled back his foot.

"Richard, stop scaring these two young ladies, let’s get started," Helen said while holding the soundly sleeping Guoguo, tugging at Liu’s arm reproachfully.

Liu turned to look at the large hide tent that had been erected at the rear of the Turun alliance, pointing at the five Chimaera Knights soaring above the Yale Oasis with a questioning look at Helen.

Helen held up her Seven-Degree Gold Ring and nodded in affirmation.

"Your Majesty? Which squadron should go first?" A group of Orephin squadron leaders came rushing over, shouting as they approached, "Didn’t you tell us to get ready to attack? If we wait any longer, the soldiers’ morale will start to decline...."

The voices of the Orephin squadron leaders grew fainter as they spoke, their faces a mix of surprise and confusion as they stared dumbfoundedly at the Shaman of Divine Songs by His Majesty’s side where suddenly about twenty Mammoth Powerhouses had emerged, each towering over them, lying haphazardly on the sand, playing the bullroarer.
