Chapter 134: Chapter 86 Entry-Level Test_2

Basil nodded lightly with an "hmm" and kept sizing up a middle-aged man wearing a silver robe and puffing on a pipe not far away.

Every time Basil’s gaze swept over the Magic Ring insignia on the left chest of the other’s robe, a wave of shock involuntarily surged in his eyes.

Three Rings!

Where did this "Three Rings" come from?!

He recognized all the "Three Rings" wizards of the Seventh Magic Rings, except for the man in front of him!

Moreover, it was a "Three Rings" wizard with only the strength of the Late Level 1 Stage. Normally, to possess the status of Three Rings, one should at least have the strength of a Second-level Wizard.

Could it be a top-ranked Talent from other Magic Rings, or the scion of a noble personage?

But why would a "Three Rings" wizard from other Magic Rings come to the Seventh to vouch for someone?!

And to vouch for a mere Early Level 1 Stage... Eh?!

Basil noticed the inconspicuous Young Wizard beside the man... and suddenly had an impression in his mind.

He remembered that over a month ago, he and Gu Wei were hunting for a "big fish," and this Young Wizard happened to be on their list.

It seemed to come from some Low-level Wizard Force destroyed because of Nephilim’s Key; the other party even tried to ask him to vouch for them, their naive appearance was really laughable.

A Young Wizard of such ordinary birth, strength, and Talent, who was able to get a "Three Rings" to personally come forward as a guarantor, it truly surprised and baffled him....

"Sir, the Fire Vulture has come out."

Gu Wei’s voice pulled Basil back to reality; he retracted his gaze and looked forward, seeing a Young wizard with a face covered in flame patterns and a defiant look striding towards him.

Seeing the other’s unpleasant expression, Basil felt uneasy inside but still asked about the situation: "How did it go?"

"Useless!"

The defiant Young wizard spat out disdainfully and said resentfully: "They took my stuff, I gave them my name, and they just freaking told me two sentences about the selection standards.

You’re considered to have passed if you last for one minute, and you can only be considered a core member if you last for five minutes...

And right in front of me, they injected a ’Frenzy Potion’ into that Top First Rank Terran Giant Beast!"

Basil’s face immediately darkened, and he uttered a name with a cold and low voice.

"Turpa!"

The Terran Giant Beast with a thin Ancient Rock Giant bloodline is already tough to deal with, not to mention where Turpa found such a Top First Rank one, and even insanely injected it with a "Frenzy Potion."

A Terran Giant Beast in this state would give even Second-level Wizards a headache.

Just lasting for one minute is considered passing; it’s clear that they never intended to let anyone get through easily!

The Fire Vulture, a wizard of the Late Level 1 Stage, is the "ace" among Basil’s group, aiming to become a core member.

Turpa raised the "core" standard to five minutes... Five minutes! Even he himself might not be able to achieve that.

"Turpa..."

Basil took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing the rage in his heart and murmured to himself: "I’ll remember this one."

The examiner for the entry test had changed from an old acquaintance of Basil to a wizard he was not familiar with.

Basil had tried to "show goodwill" towards the other party, but unexpectedly he received an even more intensified targeting.

Clearly, the other’s "appetite" was much larger than he had anticipated.

"Sir."

Gu Wei started to speak worriedly at his side: "Three people have already been held back, two are left... Should we continue?"

Basil’s eyes flickered as he slowly replied: "Wait for now, at least... until the ’Frenzy Potion’ in the Terran Giant Beast wears off.

You go up and tell them, let others go first..."

Saying this, Basil cast a casual glance at another group of wizards waiting for the examination, just like them.

Perhaps because he did not achieve the expected result and was in too bad of a mood, the Young wizard, the Fire Vulture, who had come out in a sorry state earlier, stared at a certain silver-gray figure replacing them for the test and muttered a curse: "An Early Level 1 Stage dares to take the test?

Don’t freaking die in there!"

Basil remained silent, his face showing no emotional fluctuations.

...

"Go ahead, lad, it’s your turn."

Benny held a pipe in one hand and his other hand behind his back, calling to Ronan with indifference.

Ronan nodded, then suddenly spoke up, "As my guarantor, shouldn’t you impart some experiences from those who’ve been through it before the test begins?

Like the specific content of the test and such..."

"The test has no fixed items; it’s entirely up to the whims and moods of the ’examiner.’

Anyway, it’s basically all combat..."

Benny flicked away some ashes, speaking to Ronan with a somewhat meaningful tone, "But your luck doesn’t seem too great today. The difficulty of the test might be a bit higher than usual..."

"I had that feeling when I entered."

Ronan replied indifferently, while Benny shook his head slightly with a "you don’t understand" expression.

Ronan couldn’t be bothered to continue the conversation and followed the guide leading the way.

As Ronan was about to step through the test’s small door, he suddenly heard Benny calling from behind, "Hey, kid! Up till now, I still don’t know your name."

Ronan paused his steps, then strode in.

"Ronan. My name is Ronan Damien."

"Ronan, huh..."

Benny watched Ronan’s disappearing figure into the small door, slowly exhaling a puff of white smoke. His half-rotten face was somewhat visible in the drifting smoke, his specific expression unclear.

"You better not make me take this step in vain..."

...

The moment Ronan stepped through the small door, he was struck by a sudden slight sensation of dizziness.

However, the dizziness came quickly and left just as swiftly, possibly in less than half a second; his consciousness returned to normal.

Upon regaining his senses, he realized he seemed to have entered some "Secret Realm Space," similar to the "Corpse Garden" he had been in before.

The Secret Realm Space was vast and well-lit.

He now found himself on a small white plaza, which lay adjacent to a towering grey wall. The plaza was enveloped by the light curtains of Rune Formations on three sides.

Outside the small plaza, the light immediately dimmed, revealing a limitless grey wilderness obscured by thick fog. In the fog, one could barely make out the silhouette of a small hill...

There were two people on the small plaza.

One was a Bald Man with a sinister look and a black mole on his nose, lazily seated on a huge black metal chair.

By his side, stood an ordinary-looking middle-aged Male wizard.

When Ronan appeared, the Bald Man on the metal chair just glanced at him indifferently before yawning and looking away with a languid air.

The middle-aged Male wizard beside him, however, took a step forward and shouted loudly at Ronan, "Walk straight ahead. If you retreat back into the protective range of the Rune Formation, you fail...

Now, the test officially begins!"

Ronan’s eyes flickered slightly, but he said nothing, heading straight toward the direction outside the plaza.

Stepping out from the light curtain of the Rune Formation and into the black wilderness, an immediately chilling and oppressive feeling assailed him.

As the "examiner," the middle-aged Male wizard had ordered Ronan to walk straight ahead, and Ronan had no intention of disobeying, so he slowly moved forward.

The direction straight ahead was toward the location of the small hill on the wilderness.

The closer Ronan got, the stronger the feeling of oppression in his heart became.

Moreover, he constantly felt as if there were a pair of huge, invisible eyes overhead... looking down from on high, coldly observing him advance bit by bit like an ant.

...

"Even an Early Level 1 Stage has been sent in, and without bringing anything..."

With Ronan’s figure disappearing into the thick fog of the wilderness, the middle-aged Male wizard who had just announced the start of the test turned to look at the Bald Man on the black metal chair, speaking in a chilling tone, "Sir, it seems Basil is very dissatisfied with us.

Is this some kind of demonstration?"

"Demonstration? He’s not even worthy!"

The Bald Man casually spat out a black saliva mixed with metallic residue onto the ground, speaking coldly, "Later on, you just stand in front of the Rune Formation. Let this Level 1 Early Stage Waste he sent in be tormented a bit more miserably, it wouldn’t matter if he died...

From now on, every person he sends in, I’ll cripple or waste another..."

The Bald Man grinned, revealing a mouthful of ghastly pale teeth.

"Until... he’s willing to present true sincerity."
