Chapter 117: Chapter 79: Activated Metal, Thirty Years of Dilemma_2

The green-eyed man couldn’t help but laugh, tapping the desk gently with his feather pen, "If you wish to apply for membership in the Magic Rings, first you must possess the strength of at least a Level 1 Wizard, and secondly you must have accumulated at least thirty years of residence in any Magic Ring City... Of course, if an official member of the Magic Rings is willing to vouch for you, this can be waived.

If that’s the case, notify them now and I can wait..."

Ronan didn’t speak, just stood there, his eyes flickering incessantly.

Seeing his embarrassment, the green-eyed man didn’t say anything else, just faintly lifted his hand, motioning for him to leave.

...

"Accumulated thirty years of residency... or have an official member of the Magic Rings as a guarantor..."

In the room, Ronan sat on the sofa, quietly contemplating alone.

He understood why the Silver Magic Ring established such a regulation, likely to prevent infiltration from other forces.

It may not be completely effective, but at least it cuts off a large portion or makes it that much harder for hostile forces to infiltrate.

Yet such a minor decision from the upper echelons of the Magic Rings would weigh heavier than mountains upon someone like Ronan, a lowly figure.

Directly disrupting all the plans he had previously made.

"Thirty years... Do I endure thirty years without condensing a seal on my soul?"

"Or do I refine the [Bloodthirst] seal, temporarily switch to practicing Plant Series, wait to join the Magic Rings after thirty years, then switch back after receiving the Metal Magic heritage from the Magic Rings?"

Ronan couldn’t help shaking his head, "Thirty years, by that time, my magic attribute system and combat style would have been set, and such a significant change would be tantamount to starting over, it would be a complete waste of thirty years. And with my soul’s poor quality to begin with, lacking those thirty years would make advancement even more difficult..."

Ronan let out a soft sigh, stood up from the sofa, and slowly walked to the window.

Staring at the distant, mystical, and majestic Seventh Magic Ring tower, his gaze gradually became profound.

"Then I’ll have to find someone to vouch for me..."

"The problem is, where do I find an official member of the Magic Rings willing to be my guarantor?"

In the following days, Ronan changed his usual reclusive habits, taking every opportunity to go out, wandering aimlessly.

Perhaps in his heart he was also yearning for a "chance encounter."

Just like Shaun, who once worked in a pharmacy, then caught the eye of a Master Potion Wizard, an official wizard.

Or like Alida, who fantasized daily about a powerful wizard noticing Jacob’s talent and generously sponsoring his advancement to Level 1 Wizard so that they could marry her quickly.

Sometimes Ronan also fantasized that while wandering aimlessly outside the Magic Rings, upon turning a street corner, he might suddenly earn the favor of the Goddess of Destiny, and a solution would appear for the immense problem now in front of him.

Sadly, in this world, luck often falls upon only an extremely small number of people. Like most others, Ronan only gets to occasionally see "luck" with a sense of sourness and envy.

"Just increased by this little?!"

Inside the small cultivation room, the floor was littered with empty, exquisite potion bottles.

Ronan looked a bit upset as he stared at his personal panel—

[Strength: Level 1 Official Wizard (5%)]

A few days ago, he tried to tread the old path he followed during his apprentice days, using potions to level up.

He bought in the best pharmacy in Seventh Ring City what was said to be the most suitable and most effective spiritual power growth potion for Early Level 1 Stage Wizards.

Five bottles.

All consumed, with full resistance developed to the potions.

And yet the return was less than a 30% increase in spiritual power, and the progress on his strength panel crept up by just 3%!

"Fifteen yuan for an Advanced Magic Stone per bottle, a total of twenty-five Advanced Magic Stones, all for this meager 3%?"

Ronan’s mouth twitched slightly, his liver quivering with pain.

Most of his possessions came from Lola’s Waist Storage Bag, from which he had obtained a total of fifty-two Advanced Magic Stones, and two more from clearing out useless equipment, making it fifty-four. He spent twelve on a First Rank Magic Robe, and only forty-two Advanced Magic Stones remained.

Now, more than half were gone, and the improvement he got was minuscule. How could Ronan not feel the sting?

[Clear Sky Realm] activated, his eyes shone with deep blue, and in his mind, a point of white light shone out like a Little Sun, producing ripples one after another.

With each ripple spreading out, Ronan seemed to hear the "shushing" sound of water flowing over gravel—that was the Master Level Basic Meditation Technique washing away the abundant impurities in his spiritual power.

Even though Ronan’s resolve was now much stronger than before, encountering one bad thing after another... his mood couldn’t help but sink.

He had anticipated that the path of a Level 1 Wizard would be particularly arduous, but he did not expect it to be this tough, almost to the point where the route to level up through potions was nearly blocked.

"If one potion builds up resistance when consumed to its limit, then switch to another one and keep drinking... I’ll self-study Magic Potion knowledge. There’s no need to worry about the impurities in my spiritual power. I refuse to believe my strength cannot be pushed up."

Ronan took a deep breath, walked out of the Cultivation Room, and left the Blueberry Inn to the streets outside.

As for the matter of finding someone to vouch for him, he was still clueless. Going out for a walk might not help him find a solution, but at least it could ease his mood a little, to not be so awful.

More than a month had passed since Ronan moved into the Magic Ring, and enclosed within the full Rune Formation he could not feel the seasons change, nor could he clearly discern the rise and fall of the sun.

During this time, Ronan had roughly familiarized himself with the entire outskirts of Seventh Ring City, he knew what stores were where and no longer needed a guide.

Continuing down the cold, metallic street, Ronan, without realizing it, found himself in front of a hemisphere-shaped, silver building.

The strange structure, akin to an upside-down iron bowl, had Wizards entering and exiting from time to time.

Continuous and distinct energy fluctuations could be heard emanating from within.

"Magic Training Room..."

Ronan watched for a while and finally couldn’t resist stepping toward it.

...

For one Intermediate Magic Stone, Ronan obtained the right to use a Level 1 Magic Training Room for one hour.

In the spacious room, aside from a small partition for convenience, there was only a huge crystal panel completely embedded in the wall.

This was Ronan’s first time in a proper Magic Training Room. Before, he would just find some secluded outdoor area to practice his spells haphazardly.

Approaching the crystal wall at the other end of the room, Ronan observed it closely.

This was the Spell Test Wall of the training room, made up of countless tiny crystals, each the size of a thumb.

The crystals, a type of Crystal produced through Alchemy Technology, possessed excellent energy absorption properties and could temporarily absorb most of the Energy Particles within a spell.

A Casting Wizard would determine the current power and progress of the spell they were practicing by the number of Energy Absorption Crystals that lit up after being hit with their spell.

Not every Wizard had a character panel like Ronan to display the Proficiency level of spells in a quantifiable manner. In fact, although Ronan could clearly see the Proficiency progress of his Skills, he still relied purely on experience to judge the strength of the spell under that Proficiency level.

Such a Spell Test Wall was much more intuitive. On the adjoining wall, there was also a chart comparing spell strengths.

How many Energy Absorption Crystals lighting up counted as the normal standard for an Early Level 1 Stage Wizard, how many for an Intermediate Level 1 Stage Wizard, how many for a Late Level 1 Stage...

Clear and obvious at a glance.

Honestly, Ronan was also curious about the current standard his few trump cards could reach among Level 1 Wizards; this was quite important as it concerned many of his future decisions.

"Let’s start with testing [Energy Missile - Particle Torrent]."

With only one hour to use, Ronan didn’t delay and started [Clear Sky Realm] right away.

Beneath the deep blue, a steady stream of spiritual power surged continuously from his mind.
