Chapter 109: Chapter 76: Bone as a Weapon, You Also Want to Stop Me?_3
"Unfortunately..."
He did not continue.
The Beautiful Witch’s pupils were undergoing an unprecedented earthquake.
She stared blankly at Jerome, having never seen him like this before.
She felt like she had never truly understood Jerome, but deep inside her, a voice kept telling her that such a loss of composure by Jerome... was utterly expected.
...
In a secluded and quiet depth of the forest, countless ancient branches intertwined, forming a thick natural barrier. Huge vines were sprawling all around, making the area almost entirely impenetrable. In this thicket, a small tree about a foot tall quietly grew.
It had light golden branches and vibrant green leaves, looking lively and hopeful.
Suddenly, a breeze passed through, and a crude, twisted woman’s face appeared on the slender trunk of the light golden tree.
The face had its eyes closed, its mouth open emitting a silent scream. Soon after, numerous ugly, palm-sized Forest Fairies hurriedly leaped out from the shrubs, rushing toward the small tree.
Each of these Forest Fairies carried either bulging small fabric bundles or fully filled small wooden barrels.
They arrived next to the light golden tree and immediately started pouring the contents by its roots; the barrels contained strangely colored unknown liquids and the bundles contained various foul-smelling powders.
The Forest Fairies were continuously busy; once they had emptied their materials, they would diligently turn back to the shrubs and after a while, return again carrying barrels or bundles filled with Potion powders.
The light golden tree, constantly nourished, emitted sounds of joy and contentment, its leaves rustling along.
However, the horrifying woman’s face on the trunk kept moving its mouth, as if urging or cursing.
It seemed the Forest Fairies were terribly afraid of the face, tirelessly running around, barely catching their breath, daring not to pause even for a moment...
Days later, the light golden tree spread its branches and its green leaves seemed to have multiplied, visibly growing taller and more robust.
On the surrounding grass, bodies of overworked Forest Fairies lay scattered, with the surviving ones appearing utterly exhausted, moving sluggishly and as if they might collapse at any second.
Yet, the woman’s face on the trunk didn’t stop urging and cursing. As another Forest Fairy collapsed under the burden, the accumulated grief and rage of all Fairies finally reached its peak, and exploded.
They dropped what they were carrying and angrily yelled at the woman’s face on the tree, eventually rushing to furiously tear and chew at the tree’s roots.
Just as this minor rebellion erupted in the depths of the lonely forest, suddenly, the light of a Rune Formation shone from the dark of the dense woods, casting a concentrated golden beam directly onto the light golden tree.
In an instant, the frail tree began to grow rapidly, its trunk thickening and the woman’s face on it becoming more vivid.
Within minutes, what was previously only a sapling pierced through the dense canopy above, growing into a tall tree with golden leaves.
All the Tree Demons looked up dazed at this scene, having forgotten about their rebellion, and when they realized what had happened, they knelt fearfully on the ground, desperately pleading with the large tree for mercy.
At that moment, the trunk of the great tree suddenly split open, and a small girl with seaweed-like green hair, about eight years old, with tears streaming down her face, jumped out.
The girl lay on the grass, looking up at the sky, her young face full of pain and resentment. She uttered the most venomous curse towards an unseen direction: "Crimson Tower... Ronan...
I swear by my soul! I will make you all pay the most painful price!.. Definitely!"
...
Under the azure sky, the salty sea breeze blew.
In front of a green hut covered with white seabirds and black ravens, a young girl with linen-colored long hair hung down like a waterfall.
Beneath the hair was a delicate set of features and pearl-like creamy skin; though dressed in a somewhat outdated and conservative dark long dress, she still managed to look stunning.
The girl held a snow-white envelope in her hand, hesitating at the doorstep of the green hut.
Encouraged incessantly by a blond-haired young girl accompanying her, the girl finally gathered enough courage to step into the hut.
Moments later, she emerged, still holding the same snow-white envelope she had while going in.
"Ah! Why haven’t you mailed it yet?!"
The companionish girl stamped her foot with impatience.
The young woman appeared somewhat dazed, walking forward mindlessly, dropping the envelope on the ground, while continuously murmuring.
"They said... they said... Hoddam no longer exists..."
"Ah?!"
...
A traveler in a Grey Robe trudged along the boundless wilderness, when suddenly a gust of wind blew away the thick fog obscuring the path ahead.
Behind the fog, a massive mountain-like silhouette emerged.
From afar, under the sunlight, the mountain seemed to emit a silver glow, surrounded by many black speck-like Floating Islands.
The traveler stopped, facing the direction of the mountain and Floating Islands, pulling down the hood over his head to reveal a head of chestnut and bright white hair, and a handsome, yet spirited young face.
"Finally arrived...."
Ronan narrowed his eyes looking toward the distant misty and magnificent scenery, softly murmuring to himself: "The nearest Grey Robed Wizard Land to Hoddam... Silver Magic Ring."
