BLOOD LEGACIES
Chapter 89: Truant {2}

Chapter 89: Truant {2}

I focused my gaze on the blueish skies, it was so lovely, and white clouds covers it making it look more esoteric, I saw some faint colors too that washed upon them giving it a surreal view and the sun was at the highest pinnacle, but it didn’t affect me because I was under the shade of a tree, lying against the green grasses mixed with flowers, just lying there with the cool breeze against my skin and scrutinizing the skies were everything, it was serenity.

The birds made fantastic sounds as they graced the skies with their presence. I smiled watching them. They were beautiful and the view was just flawless, exactly the relaxation I needed as well as the quiet.

"Enjoying the view?"

At the soft sound of the baritone voice beside me, I pivoted my head, I just noticed my strawberry blond hair was loose from the bun and spread out around me like a curly pillow, but that wasn’t what captivated me, but the hazels watching me closely.

My smile broadens, taking the handsome features before me.

"It’s enjoyable, with you," I said softly and a smile spread across his lips, gosh he looked more stunning now, and the view couldn’t be more remarkable, with him here, laying beside me as we both appreciated nature.

"You’re so beautiful," he said in a fuzzy passionate tone which made butterflies swirl in my stomach and my toes curl, he said the words with so much connotation which made my heart quaver as well as picking up pace, I had to measure my breathing just to make it calm down.

Our gazes were still locked and none of us attempted to look away for we found tranquility at this stare and absolute seclusion that was enough to fill our hearts.

I felt his hand gently taking mine in a tight hold and his warmth smooched my skin, a swelling feeling in my chest rise, it was too much to stem but watching him gaze upon me like I was the only living being in the world sparkled something within me, I could see it in his hazel eyes, accentuated and incredible that I could see myself through them as well as seeing him through my bright green eyes.

We both spun to face our bodies, our hands still locked and our faces a foot away as we kept dousing ourselves in looks, the view no longer the peace we both searched for but with our gazes on each other.

The lilac flowers around us with petals sprung voluntarily from the wind and spread their gorgeous petals around us, making this presence and mood between us more magical and heartfelt, my heart felt chubby and close-knit not by pain but by a predominant feeling I could not apprehend.

The wind smooched our skins as well as the flying petals. He reached for me with his other hand and gently massaged my cheek with his thumb and I found myself melting and a tantalizing smile found my lips.

"Kiss me," I said to him and he seemed more satisfied by my words and without hesitation, he leaned toward me, with each beat of my heartbeat, he came to like the passing wind but with the help of calculated time, making sure he savors every moment before he got to my lips and I was patient than ever because I too wanted to savor this moment and imprint it in my brain.

Just when he was just mere inches from my face I gently flicked my eyes close, loving as his breath washed upon me and also in itching suspense awaiting his lips to claim mine.

*Beep Beep Beep Beep*

What was that?

~

*Beep Beep Beep Beep*

I groaned, flickering my eyes open but I met with a blur, eager to have a look around. I tapped my glasses on my nightstand and wore them, and I sat up with start and looked around, taking in the familiar order of my room.

Was that a dream?

I lamented burying my face with my palms beneath my glasses, it was a dream! It felt so real and I was close to kissing...

I blushed but then sighed taking out my phone, I went through my call list, of all the calls I did to Dace for the past week but yet I still met with the same painful word ’Switch Off,’

I sighed heavily this time, I was worried and both hurt too, you can’t just leave me after depicting what he did? I expected we would talk about this, or did he misread my look of fear? Of course, he did, Emma! I gave a look that I was scared, scared of HIM! Which I was at that moment because I couldn’t understand the situation perfectly but now I did.

"Emma, are you up? You’re gonna be late for school"

"Coming!" I called back forcing myself off the bed, today was the last day of exams but I wasn’t really feeling it, I felt devoid and I have just been pushing through like a zombie ever since if it wasn’t for Owen and the others I would have stopped going to school because how unmotivated I was.

And there was no one I could ask about Dace’s sudden truant.

~

Fucking idiot Emma! I mentally slapped myself! Emilia was right there going through her locker for something, and here I thought there was no one I could ask, well except courage, I knew she didn’t quite like me.

I took a deep breath like I was fortifying myself to walk up to her.

"Okay" I mumbled under my breath as I took slow steps towards her, I kept mentally telling myself that ’I can do this and I got this’ but my body surely was not responding to that fact in my head, fucking fuck I was already a mushy mess within me and my legs were shaky too.

But I really need to ask about Dace and Emilia was the only one who would give me answers.

Just when I was getting to her she twirled and we made eye contact.
