Chapter 515: For Her Peace {2}
Chapter 515: For Her Peace {2}
"Can Samuel handle this? I don’t want any mistakes" I said, dropping the stack of papers on my desk. This won’t do, in Juneau I could easily follow her every movement and watch her closely, I had always created the time even when I didn’t.
At times I would come to her when she was asleep, Emma found it difficult to sleep now and had pills to help her so she’s always knocked out. I would watch her every night eager to break the distance and make contact but if I did that she would know. I don’t know what her reaction would be but I could tell she won’t be too happy to see me.
The flash of the dead look in her eyes that day at the greenhouse found me. I shook my head to wave it off.
"Samuel will do a good job, trust me"
I snapped my gaze to Singe’s who had assured me for the 11th time. "If he messes up I take his head, I don’t care if he’s your brother," I remarked coldly. Singe visibly gulped but said nothing.
"Sam knows well enough not to screw this up, I trained him well"
At cue, my phone rang and his name popped up. "I told him to only call when there’s an emergency," I said and spared a look at Singe who nonverbally cursed.
"I’ll fucking kill him" I shot up to my feet and snatched my phone. "You’re officially dead"
"Alpha please just listen to me,"
"What happened?!" I barked, rage ripping through my body. My hold on the device almost crushed it to bits.
"The L-Lioness went to a party and I had to keep a close watch"
A party? I’m not against that but what the fuck? She could get drugged or something and then I would have to burn the school to the ground and destroy centuries worth of legacies.
"Did she go alone?" I asked in a composed tone trying to keep myself in check.
"Yes"
Oh, baby girl you’re in big trouble.
"Where is she now?"
"I’m driving her back to the dorm in her car, I don’t know what she took she’s completely passed out and not moving"
"Is she breathing?!"
"Yes!"
Good. I take the phone away from my ear. "Tell the pilot to get ready, I’m leaving for Juneau now"
Singe nodded to do as I asked without question. There were still meetings to do but I don’t give two fucks about them right. Emma is my priority especially after she pulled a stunt like this. If she wants to grab my attention by doing this then congratulations baby, you have it... undivided.
I Know You Love To Fall ~ By Message To The Bears
I monitored Samuel until he was back at her dorm, much to my disagreement I told him to watch her through the night and the next morning but from afar. I instructed him to keep a glass of water and an aspirin for her and run a warm bath for her after. I watched all this on the flight back through my iPad. Watching as she woke up, took the pill, and got ready for the day.
Her small conservation with her roommate Wendy. I did a little background check on her, she was just an average girl, with nothing to know or see.
I made arrangements with the Chancellor to be in Emma’s class. To be in the so-called Seminar and see the expression on her face when I talked to the students. They were all flirty towards me but I didn’t give any concern to it.
But from Emma’s face, I could tell she didn’t like it, she was angry I was here, the daggers she glanced at me enough to make me trip but I maintained composure, instead it gave me a fucking hard-on.
My message was passed in a miscommunicating way and when the personal questions got too intense, she stormed out and I ended the Seminar. I maintained my cultivated business face and bid the students goodbye.
I followed Emma to the library where she sorted an escape from the rest of the world. It rained heavily and the library was almost empty. I watched her turn to a corner, trying to shield everything away.
To shield me away. She’s still trying to run from me and I would be more than satisfied to give her what she wants but I need to make sure I don’t need to destroy centuries worth of legacies with a snap of a finger.
In my presence she grew tense, more scared than aroused—it’s annoying to have her draw away from me like she couldn’t breathe.
I cut through the distance without a bat of an eye, needing to subsist on her smell and touch her but I settled by keeping my hands to myself because I knew the moment I start I won’t stop.
"I missed you," It was a simple confession. But she didn’t believe me, I’d been thinking about her for the last year so that should count that I missed her, so I understood what that felt like.
"You’re lying"
"Why would I lie about something like that?" I narrowed my eyes, tilting my head slightly. "Lie about how much I couldn’t get you out of my head or how much..." I paused, my gaze slipping from her eyes to her nose, lingering on her plump lips, begging to be kissed and bitten until they were swollen and tender. The temptation gnawed at me, but I forced my eyes away. "Did you honestly think I would leave you alone?"
Does she think for one second I would if I didn’t want to give her... peace? That I would roam this earth, enduring a hollow existence without her. She had no idea how much strength it took—to endure this separation
"Yes," she replied.
I winced, picturing how painful that must feel but I’m fueled by the need to throw her over my knees and spank the idea out of her, oh I’ll be in time and even if she begs me I won’t stop until I show her just how ridiculous that sounds.
"You think so little of me. You hurt me," I said, straightening up and keeping my hands in my pockets to avoid touching her. "We’ll talk about that later, but right now, I need you to answer one simple question, baby girl," the pent-up frustration reached its peak and I’m ready to unleash havoc if I don’t get my answer.
"What the fuck happened last night?"
