BLOOD LEGACIES -
Chapter 511: Extraordinary
Chapter 511: Extraordinary
Emilia: *Angry Emoji* Why?
The message stared back at me for a minute, and my finger hugged against my phone to reply, but I didn’t. Giving up, I flung my phone beside me and buried my face in distress. The pressure of everything weighed on me, making it difficult to collect my thoughts. But three words were voiced in the depths of my mind.
It’s no use.
I rose and stripped from my clothes, leaving a trail of them on the floor until I got to the bathroom, turned the tap on, and waited for the water to rise, checking the temperature to make sure it was just the right one. I slid into it relaxed within the tub and closed my eyes.
I stayed in this position for an hour or so, allowing my tense muscles to ease themselves under the heat. When the water got cold, I stepped out of the tub and grabbed a robe, walking back to my bed, Emilia’s name popped up and my ringtone followed. I pondered if I should pick up her call or not but knowing she wouldn’t let me have a breather and would probably drive the way here I thought wisely.
I grabbed my phone and pressed the green button.
"What do you mean stop the daily report?!" she raged, sparing no time for me to say anything "That is the only way you know what the fuck he’s doing. Did you ask for this months ago to change your mind now? Why?!"
Typical Emilia not to leave any stone unturned.
"I mean it’s no use," I repeated what I had been telling myself for the past hour, but saying it out loud caused me to wince. I sound stupid. But it’s the truth. Why should I keep tabs on someone who doesn’t want me? It felt like hanging on a thread about to snap.
"What do you mean no use? Explain yourself and also explain why you didn’t tell me You-Know-Who remodeled your room"
Fuck! This was going to be the talk of the century. I’ll get Grayson back for it or maybe it was Emilia who pressured him to say it, I can already picture it. "Emilia"
"Talk to me!"
"It’s because of the bond"
"Bond weakened so what? Did he reject you? No"
"But..." I paused running a hand through my hair in dismay. "Yeah you’re right he didn’t reject me. Maybe we both did"
"Come on Emma. Did you know how freaking happy I was when you asked me to stalk him?"
"Stalk is a strong word"
"Well it’s stalking because you want me to give a daily report"
"You can’t blame me, Emilia"
"And I don’t" she sighed heavily. "It’s been a tough year"
"It has"
"And that idiot is just as cold blooded as his heart if he still has one"
I winced.
"Sorry"
"It’s okay" I gulped. "Why do you think he did it? You know, all this?" I sounded hopeful and pathetic at the same time. I would give anything to know.
"Probably because he can?"
I didn’t expect any less answer. It would be even more shocking if he did because he cared. Seriously, what were you expecting Emma?
"W-What should I do?" I said in a shaky voice.
"I’m sorry I don’t have the answer"
"Yeah sure, I’m in school, on my major and I’m gonna do great"
"Yes you will"
"I have to move forward"
"You do, don’t give up"
"But I’m scared because I’m not sure I can do it without him" This was the most honest thing I have said in a while. Emilia knows me enough to tell when I’m hiding under a mask, she knows that ugly side of me and accepts. I can’t hide from her, I show her how helpless I was.
"He left me, Emilia, for a year, not a word, nothing, and now he just..." I couldn’t finish because I was just too overwhelmed. "You know what, fuck him"
"I wish him hell too. Don’t beat yourself over this. You’re where you have always wanted, focus on that, focus on you. It’s the best thing you can do for yourself"
I nodded even if she couldn’t see me.
I smiled. "Hayden seriously needs to work on that card"
She chuckled lightly. "What’s the use? They only see it for a moment"
"Doesn’t mean she won’t put much effort into it" I mused.
"Yeah, whatever. Night"
"Night"

It was the weekend and I knew what that meant. The party Tessa mentioned. And guess what I decided to do?
"Whoa! You have an awesome wardrobe" Tessa said giggly, fixing her eyes on everything.
"This or this?" I asked holding up two clothes on a hanger.
Tessa grinned widely, causing her brown eyes to sparkle. She was already dressed up and her makeup was done to perfection. I didn’t want to go to this party but it’s been a tough week for me and the idea to try something new was worth my time. I prefer to do that over spending the night in my room pondering about life.
"The green one, it brings out your eyes" she mused.
I turned to the mirror, placing the cloth on me to check. She’s right. "It’s perfect"
After getting dressed and finishing my makeup with Tessa’s help, we headed out to my car.
"I barely see Wendy," I said. I haven’t seen her since my first day, she barely exists at this point.
"Told ya she’s very scarce but the remnants she leaves behind are no joke"
A sudden reminder of finding her bra in the kitchen caused me to cringe. She seriously needs to stop doing that, the whole house feels like her laundry box.
Seize The Power ~ By Yonaka
The dynamic atmosphere hit us the moment we arrived. I could feel the bass pulsing through the ground, the party’s energy already spilling into the open. Cars were parked haphazardly all around the compound, and the glow of neon lights wrapped around the water fountain made it look like something out of a rave. As I stared at the crowd, I couldn’t help but question my decision to come.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" I gulped.
"We’ll have the best time of our lives!" She squealed being the first to come down.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves as I adjusted the tip of my gown. It wasn’t even that short, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that everyone was watching even though I knew no one was. I was paranoid that my ass was sticking out for view. It was just my anxiety playing tricks on me, making me hyper-aware of every movement. "Relax," I muttered to myself before finally stepping forward.
But I stopped when I caught my reflection. I was surprised at who stared back at me. I looked different. My hair was let down, allowing it to cascade down my features, I looked like those models you saw in magazines. My makeup made me look like a fierce goddess emerging from the depths of hell. The dark, smokey eyeshadow, and bold lipstick gave me an edge that contrasted with the nerves I felt inside. I took one last glance at my reflection in the car window, straightened my posture, and decided to own it. Too much? Yes. And do I love it? Obviously.
I needed a different look if I needed to do this, I don’t want to be myself, I want to be... extraordinary and do the impossible. I didn’t want to be trapped in a bubble, weighing my emotions every minute or drowning in my thoughts. Tonight, I wanted a break from all that—to breathe and let loose with everything that drowned me, even if it was just for a few hours, it was enough. Maybe this night would give me that escape desperately deserved.
"Emma!"
I twirled finding Tessa waving at me from a distance, the rest of the people around seemed to blur and Tessa was the center of the attention that called to me, giving me the final push I needed.
A smile curled on my lips as I walked into the building. The music was so loud that I could barely hear any word Tessa said to me, there was a horde of dancing bodies vibing to the beats like they were made for it.
It was intoxicating and ethereal, luring me into a world I had never experienced, I never gave myself a chance for and now I got to.
I followed Tessa’s lead and began letting my body feel the beat and just as I willed it, I set loose, allowing the mood to take me to places I never got to experience in a long time.
Fun.
Once in a while, you remain frozen for so long and wonder if your body has ever lived. But now I am in the most amazing way possible.
Maybe this wasn’t such a bad idea after all.
