Chapter 489: Restless Mate
Chapter 489: Restless Mate
Emilia gaped at the table I smashed to bits against the wall and then at the pictures scattered on the floor as well as the bottle and glass. Slowly, she brought her gaze to me, I expected a look other than what she had on right now, it was almost as if she was cool with it. Or just covering it up, I could easily tell how tense she was and eager to submit.
She folded her arms. "Anger issues much?"
I growled like an animal, due to the golden hues I saw now I knew my eyes were glowing.
"You don’t mean what you said do you?"
"Do I’ve to repeat myself?" I hissed.
"No," she said sternly before sighing. "You might not feel like you used to, God help us if you feel at all"
I raised an eyebrow at her remark.
"But you feel for Emma don’t you?"
"I don’t want one of your lectures baby sis"
Anger morphed in her eyes and now we were both two beasts seething at each other on the verge of shifting. I knew how much she hated when I called her baby sis when we were just a month apart.
"Well take it or leave it. What happens when Emma doesn’t feel for you anymore? I bet you wouldn’t be so unreasonable then"
I stopped grinding my teeth and all thoughts of shifting were off the card but I maintained my anger as much as I maintained the panic brewing within me. The sheer thought of it was enough to give me a full-blown whiplash.
"Shut up!"
"The truth hurts doesn’t it?"
I growled and popped a loose muscle around my neck, I felt the need to kill or punch something instead I pointed a finger. "Get out!"
Emilia smirked like she won a battle. Did she come here to manipulate me emotionally? I’ve got to hand it to her because it’s working. What I felt strongly was fear more than my anger, it only made me want Emma in my arms more than ever.
"Did you see her?" I asked, allowing myself to calm down a bit.
Emilia shrugged. "Just heard from Grayson that’s all, he sounded happy and I know she is too"
"Hmm, I wonder how long that will last. The witch clan might pull off that bloodline bullshit again" The recollection only made my anger rise to the surface, the past kept eating me up from the inside out, and it made my chest burn with rage. They might be her people but they were sure as hell the reason for chaos.
"Too late for that ain’t it?" she grinned but it didn’t reach her eyes, suddenly her features didn’t hold mischievousness but genuine sincerity. "Just give her time before you do something stupid"
Is that what she came here for? To buy time? My sister knows me too well, she knew I was this close to creating havoc and she came to stop it in the most annoying way possible.
I chuckled because it only amused me more. "Relax sister, I’m not a savage man" I taunted.
She frowned.
"Doesn’t mean I won’t visit my in-laws" an idea ignited.
"Dace" she growled.
"It’s inevitable, I’ve an inky feeling they are dying to see me"

I had to make a stop at the mansion. The moment I set my eyes on the white building I couldn’t shake off the odd feeling suddenly taking over my body. The moment I stepped into the house a scent caught my nose instantly, gripping my attention until the rest of the world didn’t exist.
I ignored Singe and the others who came to greet me upon my return, blurred directly upstairs to where the scent radiated. I eyed the doorknob before grabbing it and opening the door, stepping into the room where the Banshee lay unconscious but she wasn’t alone.
Emma’s here.
"Emma?"
The others should have told me she was here, but they didn’t, which meant Emma didn’t exactly walk through the front door. How crafty, baby, what was your aim?
"Emma?" I said softly hoping to grab her attention, she should have responded to me but she remained lost in thoughts murmuring something to herself, I could only hear faint sounds of it.
"I-I can’t do it" Her voice was vulnerable, the dread gripping her was so strong that I could feel my body tense. I finally realized where that odd feeling was coming from. My female is restless.
Slowly, I walked closer to her. Emma just kept her glassy eyes on Hayden’s sleeping form.
"I can’t"
"Can’t what?"
She stiffened as if finally realizing I was here. She turned to me with wide eyes and took a step back. "I-I-I was worried about Hayden so I came to see her"
"Her and not me?"
Her gaze remained on the floor instead of me and it pissed me off. I tried to reach for her but she created a space once again and it felt like a blow to my face. What the fuck?
"Yes," she replied sternly before moving her cold gaze to me. "Why should I come to see you?"
"You’re still angry with me" I voiced.
"I’m going home" she murmured attempting to walk past me but I grabbed her arm to stop her, the mere contact kindled the flame I needed, I’d been oddly cold but now all I wanted to do was drown in her embrace, but Emma isn’t responding to me, cold shoulders given to me was another blow to my face. It got me more pissed than worried.
"Using the front door this time?"
Her eyes instantly met mine and there was no hiding it now. "Why did you sneak into your own home when you could have just used the front door?"
"L-Let me go, Dace," she said strongly, trying her best to act tough but only ending up being easy to read, displaying her hesitancy and distress.
"Is that what you want?"
"Would you force me?"
She’s doing it again? Taunting me.
"Carefully, baby girl, the more you push the worse it will get. I’m being patient"
"Patient? Just like you lied to me?"
My jaw clenched hard, almost grinding my molars to dust.
"I want to go home"
"This is your home" I countered.
She doesn’t look at me anymore and it killed me to the core, all I wanted to do was light up like a damn torch. She’s mad I get it but this felt like something way more.
Retreating my grip, I let her go and she wasted no time to leave.
