BLOOD LEGACIES -
Chapter 36: Giggly
Chapter 36: Giggly
The next I was seated on the bed in a snap, he was no longer on top. His actions were so fast that I almost couldn’t keep up, he was so swift. The silence brewed between us, but I didn’t mind it. My cheeks were so hot, we just KISS! Dace and I kissed! Did I hallucinate? Because it happened so fast.
"What are you thinking?" He asked amused, adjusting my glasses properly. My gaze leveled, I felt too shy to meet his gaze.
"N-Nothing"
"Are you uncomfortable?"
"N-No"
"Do you have more questions?"
"Y-Yes"
His smile broadened. "I will answer them next time, I want you to get some rest"
"You’re leaving?" That was stupid of me to ask, I knew that! But the feeling of him leaving was too much to bear and not just that, he shouldn’t be here in the first place, I have broken some serious house rules not even my mom could imagine, and mostly the one with the dreamcatcher, but funny because I don’t regret it.
"You don’t want me to?"
"N-No you can leave, I mean you have to leave. Just..."
"Talk to me Emma," he said softly, he always seemed to wanna hear me out and it made me come out of my shell to tell him things.
"I don’t know if I will see you, I mean you were gone for a week and-"
"You will... I will pick you up tomorrow"
I huffed. "My aunt"
"She will come to realize I’m overly attractive to you Emma" he raised an eyebrow. "I’m tired of fighting it"
My lips went apart as I stared at him lost when he said those words to me. I was simply speechless, but I found my voice. "O-Okay"
"Good" he was up on his feet the next, I was too, I adjusted my shirt that was slightly hoisted up to reveal my belly, I had no idea how that happened.
He took a moment, his eyes scanning my room, I wondered what he was thinking right now.
"I love your room, it’s cute like you"
"T-Thank you" I licked my lips.
He stood just a foot away from me, hand in his pocket jeans watching me like I was an interesting piece and it only made me blush more. He closed the distance between us and for a moment there I thought he wanted to kiss me, but he just leaned further, pinning me to the wall, hands at either side of my head. I could feel his hot breath against my face, my gaze fell to his lips, and I subconsciously licked mine, wanting so badly to taste his lips again, the first went too fast before I could process it.
"I know what you’re thinking" he mused tilting his head to the side.
"A-And?" I gulped.
"Make sure you put back that dreamcatcher, It’s what protects the house"
"W-Wha-"
"Close your eyes"
"O-Okay" I did as I was told without hesitation, I imprinted the way his breath blew against my face, it sent shivers down my spine. One minute I welcomed the warmth and the next it was gone. Curious, I opened my eyes and found an empty room. I gasped looking around but he was gone, like he vanished out of thin air, only the cold breeze from my window coming in. I rushed to it and hoped to see him walking back home but nothing... just an empty street.
"H-How?" I paused, Dace had some serious answers to give me. I shut my window hanging the dreamcatcher back on, so this ugly-looking thing protects the house? I bit my lip, I have to find a way to get more answers, seems like Dace would be willing to give them, I just hope.
At the sound of my phone, I rushed to it on the bed, I saw a message.
DACE: Goodnight freckles.
A smile found my lips and I quickly typed back goodnight before collapsing on my bed, and I sighed deeply, my smile not ceasing, the event of this night replaying in my head, and sleeping the last thing on my mind.
~
I was already up and ready the moment I got Dace’s text. The smile on my face wouldn’t shrink, I guess I was swiftly turning Joker because I couldn’t quench the excitement of seeing him again, more I couldn’t stop thinking about him and I barely slept... just a wink, and the next I was awake with the sun highlights in my room and Dace’s text to me.
DACE: Morning cutie, did you sleep okay? I will be getting to your place soon, get ready.
I was all giggly inside by his message. I rushed downstairs hoping to get something in my stomach.
"Someone seems to be in a giggly mood this morning"
I smiled. "Morning Vanessa," I said, quickly getting ready to make myself toast.
"Truly giggly,"
I shrugged. "Just slept alright"
"Hmm... tell me did you take off the dreamcatcher last night?"
I stilled as my eyes went wide, luckily I backed her so she couldn’t see my expression. "N-No" I faced her. "Why?"
"I see... felt a chill in the air that’s why"
"How does a chill in the air tell you a dreamcatcher is off" I shrugged hoping to make this conversation casual even though it didn’t seem that way.
"Guess I was wrong, must have been the cold breeze last night"
"Yeah, it really was cold last night" I smiled while eating my toast.
"Yes," she said, resting her hand on that table, eyeing me suspiciously. My body tensed but she quickly looked away. "Just make sure you lock your windows so that you don’t get cold"
I nodded, it was about to get tense again but then a car horn came in. And we both snapped out of it.
"Oh are we expecting company? That doesn’t sound like the school bus"
"It’s Dace"
The moment I said that her smile leisurely vanished, there was an ardent silence between us but I quickly grabbed my bag. "Bye" I muttered walking out, well that did not go well, it was hard to picture Vanessa being quiet about something but it did look scary there but still I appreciated the silence. And did she look shocked?
"Hey," Dace said with a smile against his lips, he was leaning against his car, which was a brown Porsche this time. He was in a dark brown leather jacket, white shirt within, a black scarf wrapped around his neck, black jeans and brown boots, and black goggles. He was simply dazzling in his outlook and style.
"Hey," I said, walking toward him with a smile on my lips. He opened the door for me.
"Your aunt doesn’t seem too happy with me here"
