Chapter 253: His Scent

I turned back to the view of the room the moment she was gone. My heart fluttered as my eyes feasted upon the room that reminds me of him, it felt like his presence was actually here. The warmth radiating here was almost impossible, it was so real but I knew it was just my brain trying to recognize the fact that he had been here and walked this very place I stood and I just wanted closure from it as much as I can or else I will go insane.

I wanted to drench my very body and soul in his scent so I walked around ... feeling my hand in every inch of the room, closing my eyes, and allowing his scent to flood my senses as well as spread on my body, I wanted more of it and I couldn’t help it like I was coming down in some really powerful drugs and I wanted a sniff of it again to take me to cloud 9.

So I stopped at his wardrobe. I slid it open, it wasn’t a walk-in like the other but this was pretty big with drawers with his folded jeans and other things. I reached for his shirt on the hanger and grabbed it while pulling it out. I brought it to my nose and took a deep whiff of it, and sighed, closing my eyes allowing my senses to dive in further deep into it. I just kept sniffing and sniffing, taking in a deep breath like I just scented an eternal perfume plastered on my nose. I looked like a damn dog right now but I didn’t care.

And for a funny reason sniffing his scent got me hungry, hungry for what I don’t know, all I knew was I didn’t wanna take my nose off this for I will break again, it will remind me of the loneliness and I didn’t want that.

His scent was celestial, it felt like forever since I last took a whiff of it. It soothe me and brought me warmth from the cold, I buried my face into it and pictured he was here with me... Behind me, as he slowly walked up to me and then placed his hand on my waist and whispered something to my ear, his warm breath blowing against my ear and my cheek I just loved the warmth it gave me.

"Dace" I moaned as I opened my eyes and looked behind me hoping to see him but I met with an empty room.

My features saddened further and that heavy weight on my chest was back again.

I took a hot shower, making sure I bathed myself in his shampoo, I sighed deeply loving the smell of it. I hissed when the water and the soap got to where Dace hurt me. I checked it... wasn’t deep but it was definitely gonna leave a mark.

When I was done I walked to his wardrobe, I spotted the clothes Emilia kept for me when she came back but I only just grabbed the sweatpants and took one of Dace’s cardigans and put them on. Before walking to the bed and lying on it, coiling myself in a ball as I pulled my knees to my chest and closed my eyes.

Even in the darkness, all I see is him.

Even in my dreams.

He’s everywhere.

I opened my eyes and found myself in the woods but it wasn’t masked in the snow, rather it looked like it was in summer. I looked around knowing full well that I was dreaming right now, but for some reason, I didn’t want it to end. I walked the path I saw and which led to the snowy woods, I gasped seeing the view, this was really odd, it was like two seasons were unfolding at the same time.

I walked through it and I was brought to the snowy woods as it should be, the cold didn’t affect me because I wasn’t truly here... but that didn’t stop me from hugging myself, just call it natural instinct.

At a sudden growl I gasped turning towards it, I was all alone here but that particular sound told me otherwise, I knew for a fact that something was here. So I followed it with a slim hope in me that it might be Dace. I really wanna see him now... I was very eager.

I was fast on my feet as I hurried through the woods, panting, and then I came to a sudden stop when I spotted something on the cold floor. Blood.

I shuddered just at the sight of it and I felt like throwing up ... that was when I heard it, the sound of flesh.

With my quivering eyes, I scanned for where it came from... I covered my mouth when I saw what remains of a deer scattered all the way to Dace’s werelion form.

"Dace"

He snapped his head towards me and I quivered when I saw the leg of the deer in his mouth, he dropped it as his piercing dark golden eyes locked on mine. Does he see me?

He roared at me and I shrieked.

"Emma!"

"Emma!"

"EMMA!"

I shrieked awake as I sat quickly and leaned against the headboard, shivering.

"It’s okay, it’s just me," Emilia said, trying to calm me down. "I brought you something to eat and then I tried waking you but you wouldn’t bulge and then you were shivering and your skin was icy cold. Did you have a bad dream?"

I sobbed. "I-I saw him... I saw Dace"

"What?"

"Emilia, we have to bring him back because..." My breath was shaky now. "I saw him..." My lips quivered.

She reached for me and placed her hands on my shoulder. "You saw him, what?"

I gulped as my body shook.

"Emma it’s okay you can tell me... you saw him what?"

I exhaled sharply. "I-I saw him feeding"

Her eyes were broad. "On what?!"

"A deer"

She sighed in relief like a weight was lifted off her chest.

"Why does it sound like a good thing?" I was forced to ask. Because that didn’t seem like it to me, I knew for a fact that they lived solely on meat but Dace told me they were refined about it.

"Well it is... you’re lucky you didn’t see him..." she paused, licking her lips.

"See he what?!" I demanded.|

"Eating a real flesh"

"R-Real flesh?"

"Yes given being a Rogue... eating animals isn’t just on their list, they crave human flesh too"

"Oh my god"

"He might still have some sanity with him... we have to find Dace before he dives too far and walks a path he can’t come back from"

I gulped at her words, it made me shudder, the thought of him killing someone innocent and feasting on a human being scared the shit out of me.

"Were you scared?" She asked me suddenly. "When you saw him eating the deer"

I gulped."I-I was shocked" I admitted. "Seeing that side of him was scary, it’s like he’s not human and..." I sighed deeply.

"Werelions can be beastly but a Rogue can be much worse," she said. "Right now Dace doesn’t recognize anyone, but I’m confused"

"Confused about what?"

"Given his state, Dace would have killed you"

"I think he was trying to... he was..." I sighed again. "...Playing with me"

"If he was Emma, you would have been dead and he would have played before devouring your flesh"

I gasped.

She narrowed her eyes. "I think Dace might have recognized a part of you maybe that is why he licked you"

"I-I think so" I mumbled.

"Did something else happen?"

"W-Well I-I" I bit my bottom lip as a blush crept on my cheeks.

"Spill it out"

"I got aroused!" I blurted out and my blush deepened.

"Oh," she mouths before clearing her throat. "I see... that was why he didn’t kill you. As your Male, he must have gotten familiar with that scent, and in that state, he would have..." she trailed off before pinning me with her gaze. "Mounted you"

"What?!"

She nods slowly. "Dace is in his most primal instinct. He might not recognize anyone but your arousal must have led him on, and the strong urge to mount his female" she rubbed her chin. She said it so carefree while I was a blushing mess.

"I think this is the way we bring him back"

"Huh?"

"Your mate bond was never completed, if his lion can recognize your arousal the rest will come through, we have to stimulate him"

"Wait are you saying I have sex with him in that form?"

"It’s not possible, you will die"

I gulped at her words, she was just as blunt as always.

"Your body won’t be able to handle him and you would be covered in scars or die from his brutal strength"

"That is unsettling to hear"

"It would have been easier if you were a She-Lion"

"But I’m not," I mumbled.

She placed her hand on mine and I looked over at her. "Even if it doesn’t get to that part... you’re the only one that can wake his senses, as a sexual beast... Rogue or not, he’s still attracted to you. Tell me Emma, are you prepared for this?"
