Chapter 136: Untangled Problem

Chapter 136: Untangled Problem

"What are you talking about?"

"Ugh! Of course, that can’t happen, a stupid thing to say" she rolled her eyes.

"Em-"

"He probably just infected you with it, fuck, why would he come to see you last night when he knew he shouldn’t, stupid Dace"

"What?"

Her eyes finally met mine. "You know, being a werelion..."

I stared at her dumbfounded and she sighed.

"Werelions go on Heat and it last for five days"

"H-Heat?"

"The horny version for a beast"

My mouth opened to speak but nothing came off me, I gulped before opening my mouth. "I-I didn’t know that," I said in a murky tone.

"Well you’re lucky it ended with just making out, damn Dace never listens"

"I-It wasn’t his fault, I..." I paused.

"Well whatever, Dace isn’t around right now, he’s on a hunt so you won’t get to see him, so now I’m stuck with you"

She doesn’t sound pleased by that fact and neither was I, Emilia wasn’t exactly a comforting person.

"Well?"

"W-Well?"

"Get bathed or something... for breakfast," she said, like wasn’t it obvious?

I gulped. "O-Okay," I hastily said, scurrying out of the bed but I fell due to my clumsiness. Now that was slightly embarrassing exactly with HER watching.

"Great" she intoned.

"Your parents aren’t coming?" I asked, noticing we were the only ones present in the spacious dining room.

A servant walked up to me and poured some drinking water for me, I just nervously smiled at his kind gesture, he would have just let me do that myself though. He retreated, leaving Emilia alone once again.

Emilia seemed to be busy pressing whatsoever on her phone. "They left this morning, they are barely around" she shifts her gaze to me. "Duty calls"

"Oh" I nodded, poking the meat before me. "Just like my mom" I murmured under my breath bringing the poked meat to my mouth, I chewed on it nervously when I noticed her stare now on me.

"S-She works a lot too," I said, I guess that was why she was staring right? "She travels around the country a lot, messed with my studies"

"What does she do?" she asked with curious features.

"She’s a secretary, like an assistant manager to this Star or something, I don’t even know her name"

"Hmm... my parents are probably at the end of the world" she shrugged. "Aside from being the Alpha of our family and also head family, we have a business"

"Business?"

"It’s a camouflage, to keep the outside world from prying in the truth about our family"

"You guys are really doing a great job at that" I snickered, adjusting my glasses. "Looked you guys up on the internet, it’s really hard to get info about you guys"

"You looked us up?" She blinked.

Maybe I shouldn’t have said that. "I-It a long story, then I had no idea and the curiosity was really freaking me out"

"I see. Tell me Emma how do you feel now that you’re a witch, half-witch"

As blunt as always, I should be expecting a lot of that from her now.

"I don’t know," I answered honestly. "I don’t feel any different, maybe it’s just a name" I felt like myself, to be honest, I don’t even know what to expect, Vanessa and I haven’t really talked about it... I guess we will after this vampire issue is over.

"I doubt that"

"Why say so?"

"An ordinary human won’t block me from reading her mind"

"I-I don’t block you"

"Whatever and you have caught the attention of a Zalatoris"

"Z-Zala what?"

"The point is Emma, you need to start seeing more to yourself, you’re deeper in the supernaturals than you have ever been" she intoned not wavering her gaze on me. "The supernatural world is a dangerous place"

My eyes were saddened at her words, it was the exact same words my aunt told me, the main reason she didn’t want me to be a part of this world.

"Bet you’re regretting why you didn’t leave this town when you got the chance huh?"

I exhaled deeply. "Leaving means I won’t see him again"

"You have always known Dace is dangerous, not just him, his world too. OUR world"

"There’s no turning back now"

"Hmm" she nodded.

There was an awkward silence next so I just settled on eating but I still felt her gaze on me.

"Why do you always leave your hair in a bun like that?" she suddenly asked.

I touched my signature hair bun. "It’s easier that way, my hair is a nightmare"

"Elaborate"

~

I followed Emilia nervously to her floor, she clicked the door open and I walked into her room.

"Whoa!" I said astounded, this wasn’t your typical teenage room, this was even better. The modern highlights to it literally smelt money, it was almost the same style as Dace’s room, but that girly touch, I was expecting something like a dark style to her room due to her personality but I was surprised to see the dark pink highlights of her room against the wall and the marching black pieces of furniture. Guess you can’t judge a book by its cover.

I followed her closely to her room, everything in single detail screamed money.

"Sit"

"What are you gonna do?" I asked nervously.

"What else? Relief you from your nightmare"

Was she trying to act girly and normal with me? I wasn’t complaining, but what?

"Well?"

"O-Okay" I took a seat in front of her black majestic mirror, I noticed the well-arranged girly stuff on her table. Whoa, it seems like she and Dace have this trait of an ordered room, I was really getting envious of that now.

"I can’t say I approve of your relationship with my brother, but what can I say, both of you are leaving me with no choice" she rambled on untiring the band around my bun.

"Aren’t you in the heat too?" I suddenly asked the question that has been bugging me ever since, Emilia was always blunt with questions, it wouldn’t hurt to try that on her too.

"I am... but males have it worse especially when they haven’t had their fe-" She paused and I narrowed my eyes. She cleared her throat. "Let’s say I have a boyfriend... that’s when I get stimulated, boys with or without they are beasts in that season"

I blushed. "He left because of me didn’t he?" It was more of a fact than a question.

"Well tell me, Emma, can you handle a werelion in bed?"

My cheeks heated at her question, and the words hung in my throat.

"I will take that as a no, you can’t"

I would be an idiot if I said she was wrong, she was right there, I could barely handle Dace in his advances in a make-out session, just look at what happened last night.

"Does this mean he’s um..." I gulped. "Getting cooled off by another girl?" I bit my lip because I felt a sting in my heart just thinking about the possibility of Dace being with another girl.

"That was before"

"W-What?"

She raised an eyebrow and I watched all her facial expressions through the mirror.

"Right" I murmured, nodding in understanding, that explains why he was so skillful with me. I thought about the possibility of being Dace’s first kiss but guess I was wrong, it seems like the heat of a male werelion was too much to handle or whatever. I bit my lip, my insides were eating at me when I imagined the scenario of Dace being with another girl, well I can’t blame him so why the fuck was I feeling angry and jealous? Fuck fuck fuck!

"You’re angry" Emilia’s words broke me. "Relax this time he’s on a hunt other than throwing a girl in his bed..." she met my eyes. "Because of you"

I felt my heart flutter at her words but I quickly cleared my throat. "I’m not angry, everyone needs to settle their sexual frustration"

She smirked at my words finally getting rid of my band and my hair fell freely over my shoulders.

"When was the last time you brushed your hair?" she gave a cringed look at the wild display and I blushed in embarrassment.

"A really long time?"

~

After breaking two expensive combs by the looks of it I think she finally did it, I can see why her hair was always perfect, she was good at this stuff.

"Give me a mountain deer to hunt, certainly not this" she turned the chair and faced me back to the mirror and I gasped.

"This is amazing Emilia," I said with wide eyes admiring my non-tangled curly hair, they weren’t like wild fort anymore, it looked straight with the curls, and my fingers freely slid through now.

"You’re welcome," she said with a smug look.

My features saddened when I saw the two broken combs. "I’m really sorry about them"

She sighed, grabbing the two. "They have served me well"

I nodded with a pouting face.

"Farewell, my warriors" she trashed them.
