Chapter 113: Face Your Monster
Chapter 113: Face Your Monster
"Are you human?" he asked with narrowed eyes, mystery and puzzlement swirling in them. That was something odd for a monster to ask.
"F-Fuck y-you" my voice was muffled and feeble, my attempt to make it sound robust was a joke, I was just as helpless and my words held no meaning.
He broke into a pearl of laughter and I noticed as his eyes twinkled from it. I ceased my breathing when he leaned to my body, his body brushing against mine once again, heavy and merciless.
"Believe me I intend to do that right now... you’re so..." his hungry eyes traveled on my body in a lustful stare. "Captivating..." his eyes locked on mine. "...For a small human" his thumb rubbed my cheeks and I shivered. "And I will make you mine"
"Luther!" a loud voice came in and next there were two figures. "We have to leave now, the werelions are coming!"
"Right now?" the man on top of me called Luther said facing the other two. "They shouldn’t get here so fast"
"Well they have and we better go or else we will be dead meat" It sounded like a female was talking now.
"You’re the ones who are scared but not me" he was off me and I noticed how tall he stood like some dreadful creature.
"We should get you to safety bef-"
A loud roar shocked the building.
"Well they are already here" Luther mused.
"And her?" the other asked, it was a male voice this time. "I have claimed her, she is mine"
I flinched at his words, forcing my body to move but the pain from my neck made it harder for me. I could only turn on my side, groaning in pain, I caught something in a distance close to the window, like a standing figure.
"Shit! One is here!" they were alerted.
"Stand your ground," Luther said without flinching but the other two seemed to be shaking in fear.
My weak gaze darted to the standing silhouette figure, it stood tall like 8 feet? Was that a possible human height? But wait... that didn’t look like a human, that looked like...
It gave a loud roar that shocked the lockers around, vibrating from the sound. I watched as the figure went on all fours and sprinted after them.
"Luther!"
"Attack!"
It happened so quickly, my weak gaze wasn’t fast enough to keep up, I heard roars, piercing and the blood spraying everywhere bright as day.
the two vampires were dead against the ground, in the pool of their own blood, this close I could see the monster before me, a lion standing on two feet, this didn’t look like a lion, it looked like a man and a lion, wild, unhinged, monstrous and here I thought nightmares were the worst, this was hell, what was unfolding before me was hell, and I was just unfortunate.
"The others should have taken time before getting here... because of the distance" Luther spoke. "You’re not just an ordinary werelion are you?"
The werelion growled, the mere sound made the entire place vibrate.
"We should be careful, fighting will bring chaos and this little one over here will get caught in it. I won’t want what belongs to me to be scathed"
Like a switch was turned on and in the next blur, a loud bashing sound followed, they were nowhere to be seen, all I knew was the ground shock from a force like a battle between elephants.
I groaned trying to force my body up, I have to get away from here, I have to try. I could only crawl against the ground, I had lost so much blood that my entire body felt numb, I paused panting, the pain from my neck was ardent, and my entire body was shocked by it.
Suddenly something flung past me like a whoosh of wind causing me to shriek. The loud sound of something slamming against the floor. Was that the werelion? it was! That Luther guy was overpowering him.
I felt an arm grab me and I shrieked, it was that vampire.
"Be still" he seethed at me, I knew he was trying to take me away and that scared me.
I felt my arm twisting from the way he pulled me like I was some baggage and the pain shocked through my spine but next, it was gone... more like I didn’t feel his iron grip anymore, like a whoosh of air he was gone but then I knew it was the werelion that blasted him off.
Luther snarled getting in position to attack, the werelion was just as terrifying, tumultuous, and out of control, but it was still surprising Luther still stood his ground, I knew why, he was hellbent on taking me with him even though it meant his life.
It was hard to keep up with my thoughts because the fight began again, blurry, gait and bashing, my vision was betraying me, I couldn’t watch any further, I couldn’t keep up with this faux fight before me.
I caught Luther at the edge of the window now, claw mark across his face, he snarled and I knew he was going for a retreat but before he did his gaze locked with mine and a chill run through my spine, for a minute there I thought he would pounce on me because of that look he gave me, but before it could be lengthened the same werelion was already after him aiming for the kill but he was gone like a blur and the werelion released a fearsome howl that made the building shock further.
I could hear the ardent panting coming from it, sounding like an animal’s.
My vision was failing me now, I was too weak to keep awake any further, was I dying? Because I felt like it, maybe the werelion would eat me because I was letting my guard down, I could already hear the approaching footsteps.
Keep your eyes open Emma! But I couldn’t, darkness was calling me and I knew it, I closed my eyes, allowing myself to drift.
"Emma!"
