Blood Holy Scripture: True Ancestor Charlotte de Castel -
Chapter 146: -134- New Holy Scripture Fragments
Chapter 146: -134- New Holy Scripture Fragments
"Act? Of course, we must act. One is the instigator of the Flame Demon Disaster, and the other is the protector of Drunk Dream Saloon, and both are coveting Castel and me. If we don’t act... do we keep them for the New Year?"
Charlotte said without any politeness.
"You have a point... but how do you plan to act? Last night... it seems we caused quite a commotion."
Sebastian asked cautiously.
Clearly, although Charlotte’s direct approach last night had been quite astonishing, Sebastian had a different opinion on how to deal with the Bold Duke and the Great Priest, the highest secular and divine leaders of the Bold Duchy.
Charlotte caught his implication from his expression.
Last night’s commotion had been significant, and the death of the Great Knight meant that the Holy Royal Court’s investigation team would probably not take long to arrive.
If something happened to the Duke and the Great Priest, it would undoubtedly increase her risk of exposure.
"Don’t worry, I understand what you mean. Of course, I won’t be taking action personally."
"Since one of them is trying to solve his fertility issue and secure the family title, and the other wants to become the Chief Priest of the parish, let’s have the things they desire the most deliver their deserved judgment."
Charlotte narrowed her eyes as she spoke.
Having finished, she took out the "evidence" found in Tulip Count’s study and handed it to Sebastian:
"Sebastian, Miss Kara has been investigating the Blood Demon Church and the Flame Demon Disaster. Next... you know what to do, right?"
Sebastian’s heart stirred, and he respectfully took it:
"I understand..."
"However, if I’m not mistaken, the Tulip Count’s records didn’t involve the Duke. The evidence against the Duke has only been seen in Miss Lotti’s dreams."
Charlotte gave him a look:
"Do you remember how the Rose Association was reported?"
Sebastian thought for a moment and said,
"Are you suggesting we can fabricate the Duke’s crimes as well?"
"I understand what you mean, but the Duke has always been meticulous in his actions. Unlike the Great Priest, whose evidence is filled with traces in Tulip Count’s diary, which can be investigated, the Duke is probably not so straightforward."
"He’s an old fox; after so many years, even if there were any evidence, it has probably already been destroyed by him."
"Even if various signs strongly suggest he is indeed the mastermind behind the scenes, without decisive evidence, even the Judgement Court of the Church wouldn’t dare move against a Duke with real power."
Sebastian shook his head as he analyzed the feasibility of reporting the Duke.
After speaking, he paused to think and then added:
"However... given the Duke’s urgency in altering his heir, his body must be nearing its limit. His health issues are no secret in Bold, and even if we do not target him directly, he probably doesn’t have many days left to live."
Charlotte snorted:
"Then, let him spend these final days repenting for his sins. Let him die in despair and regret."
Sebastian had a thought:
"What do you mean?"
"Have you met Laino?"
Charlotte suddenly asked.
"The Duke’s illegitimate son Laino? Hmm... saw him a few times when I was a mercenary. He’s a decent young man, loves life, loves freedom..."
"And... his relationship with Kara is also quite delicate. If he hadn’t been forcibly taken back to the Bold family, he would probably have followed Kara to join the Demon Hunting Institute and become a Demon Hunting Knight, right?"
Sebastian recalled and answered.
After speaking, he paused briefly, then suddenly understood:
"I... see."
...
Sebastian, holding the "evidence" diary given to him by Charlotte, left.
Charlotte, meanwhile, lazily stretched and stood up from her seat.
After a busy night, at last, everything seemed settled.
The conspiracy of the Blood Demon Church had been thwarted, and her maid had been saved. Now, all that was left was to wait for the settlement with the Great Priest and the Duke.
As for now... perhaps she should delve into the spoils she had gained from this eradication of the Blood Demon Church.
With that thought, Charlotte locked the door behind her and picked up a delicate ring from the table.
This was a magic ring, also known as a Space Ring, a common space magic accessory in the world of Mireya.
The one in Charlotte’s hand was a "gift" from Sebastian to the old lady.
The Rose Association controlled the underground black market of Bold Duchy, and such regulated equipment was plentiful; the one Charlotte held had a whopping five cubic meters of space, which was considerably large for a Space Ring.
The spoils from last night’s annihilation of the Blood Demon Church were all inside the ring.
Following the method described by Sebastian, Charlotte activated the ring with her magic power. In the next instant, her spiritual power was drawn by the tiny Array on the ring, establishing a connection with it.
As if in a haze, she sensed the space within the ring, perceived the cursed pages she had taken from the altar.
One by one... a total of twenty-three pages!
When she saw the altar last night, Charlotte knew she was going to strike it rich, and now, as she "saw" so many pages, she couldn’t help but get excited once again.
Holy Scripture Fragments!
Twenty-three Holy Scripture Fragments!
Each could potentially represent an unknown Talent Magic or even a unique ability!
All her strength stemmed from the Blood Holy Scripture, and with so many pages, it was enough to offset the time consumed for True Ancestor Liberation!
Charlotte took the Holy Scripture Fragments out of the ring and held them in her hands. Then she delved into her consciousness and began to communicate with the Blood Holy Scripture.
As her heart willed it, the twenty-three pages glowed, turning into streams of light that surged into her body.
Inside her consciousness, the Blood Holy Scripture shone brilliantly; the heavy covers unfolded on their own, emitting dazzling crimson radiance, welcoming the return of the pages.
With each page that merged into the Blood Holy Scripture, Charlotte distinctly felt the scripture’s aura strengthen, and its flickering light become more agile.
In Charlotte’s perception, of the twenty-three pages, one entered the Divine Chapter, four into the Spirit Chapter, and twelve into the Chapter of Darkness.
As for the remaining six, they formed three new Chapters.
Two formed the Wildness Chapter, three formed the Blood and Flesh Chapter, and one formed the Observation Chapter.
With this, the seven Chapters of the Blood Holy Scripture all had their rudiments, namely the Chapter of Origin, the Divine Chapter, and the five Chapters corresponding to the resonance of the Five Bloodlines.
Meanwhile, a vast amount of information flooded Charlotte’s mind.
A great number of new Magic spells appeared in the Blood Holy Scripture, one for each of the five directions of bloodline resonance!
However, contrary to Charlotte’s expectations, the returned pages did not represent twenty-three new spells; in fact, only about ten spells appeared.
Most of them were Low-Tier Spells, particularly the newly formed Chapters of Wildness, Blood and Flesh, and Observation.
Only the Spirit Chapter and the Chapter of Darkness, with the most numerous pages, saw higher-tier spells emerge.
In particular, the refined versions of the Low-Tier Majesty Skill and Undead Revival that Charlotte already mastered appeared.
The advanced version of the Low-Tier Majesty Skill was split into two spells: Spirit Shock and Charming Speech, equating to the refinement and enhancement of the Majesty Skill.
Although Charlotte’s Low-Tier Majesty Skill was quite effective, it was only against those not entering the tier.
For tier-entering individuals, its effect was actually rather poor.
Yet, these more refined versions could target stronger tier-entering Transcendents.
As for Undead Revival, a stronger power of Undead Control followed.
Undead Revival merely allowed her to resurrect the dead, not to control them.
Without using Divine Power, her control over the undead was limited, but the stronger Undead Control enabled her to dominate the undead without resorting to Divine Power.
Similar to the Chapters with fewer pages compared to spells, the Spirit Chapter and the Chapter of Darkness also contained higher-tier spells.
The new spells in the other Chapters were almost all Low-Tier.
Moreover, in none of the Chapters did a spell appear that jumped tiers and emerged as a High-Tier Spell without precedent.
This gave Charlotte a new inkling about the relationship between the Holy Scripture Fragments and the recorded spells.
These pages... probably weren’t as she imagined, with one corresponding to each spell.
Apart from the yet unclear Chapter of Origin and Divine Chapter, the other five Chapters’ pages likely each represented a Law, or a kind of bloodline resonance power.
And when they were gathered together, they would congeal spells based on the strength of the Law.
The spells would naturally coalesce from Low-Tier to High-Tier.
The more the pages, the easier High-Tier spells would appear!
However, there was one exception among the pages.
That was the sole new page belonging to the Divine Chapter.
