Chapter 719: 661 deadlock situation one
Following the familiar layout of Gong Shan Family’s houses and alleyways, turning left and right, Li Chengyi soon arrived at the courtyard where Gong Shanqinyang resided—the home he had previously spent a considerable amount of time in this world.
The scholarly and frail-looking Gong Shanqinyang and the still cold and statuesque Gong Shanlin had already been standing at the entrance of the courtyard. Noticing him approaching from afar, they showed a trace of excitement and quickly stepped forward.
"Ah Zhu!" Gong Shanqinyang went up to him and carefully surveyed his son, exhibiting a sentimental expression. "You’ve grown considerably taller and more robust too."
He patted Li Chengyi’s arm, contentedly remarking, "It seems you’ve taken good care of yourself while being away."
"Father, do you know who the Family Head was fighting with earlier? I saw the disturbance from afar, even at Lu Mountain." Li Chengyi casually asked as he entered.
"Those were a few slippery demons from the demonic realm who tried to snatch some fortune from our family but were discovered and killed by the Family Head. It was just a minor incident. With the Family Alliance, there is no need to worry," Gong Shanqinyang smiled and led his son inside.
"Speaking of which, your timing is unfortunate. Your younger brother and sister aren’t here for visitation, so if we weren’t home, you would be here all alone, which would be quite boring."
"How long are you back this time?" Gong Shanlin asked softly.
"Just for two days, to see how you both are, and then I’ll return. Master has high hopes for me, and I cannot let his old man down," Li Chengyi said earnestly.
"Well said. Also..." Gong Shanqinyang glanced around and lowered his voice, "your wife Han Zongdi ran away, do you know that?"
"Ah?" Li Chengyi displayed a suitably surprised expression in good time.
"Her leaving is for the best. I was against this marriage from the start. Han Zongdi has a barbaric nature, and she was never a good match for you. In the future, father will find you a gentler one."
"No way!" All of a sudden, Li Chengyi frowned and grew serious. "How can matters of marriage be taken so lightly? I think Xiao Di is very nice, not at all barbaric, very easy to get along with, and also beautiful."
"....!!!?" Gong Shanqinyang and Gong Shanlin looked at each other in disbelief, unsure of what had gotten into their son.
"Father, mother, please don’t worry about this. I like Han Zongdi, and I will take no other but her in this lifetime! This is a decision I have made myself!" Li Chengyi said gravely.
"This..." The couple was both dumbfounded. What was going on? Wasn’t it all set from the start? To annul the engagement when a suitable opportunity arose?
Clearly Han Zongdi was so savage, so why...
"Enough, let’s not discuss this any further. I am grown now, and I have my own thoughts," Li Chengyi said seriously.
"You..."
The couple, looking at the unwavering determination in Li Chengyi’s eyes, felt vaguely like they had been slapped in the face.
They had finally found a perfect opportunity to cancel the engagement with Han Zongdi, and now, for some unknown reason, their son had developed a real fondness for that wild girl...

While Li Chengyi was home visiting his family, elsewhere, Shang Jiu quietly arrived at the beach on Baishi Star, the same place where he had last teleported to with a group of Immortal Zombies in tow.
He had come with three people, but now he was alone.
Thinking of this, Shang Jiu couldn’t help feeling a bit sentimental, especially since one of the two who were no longer with him had been a good companion.
"Alright, get ready. I’ll contact the people from Cloud Realm immediately and start trying to open the teleportation gate," he instructed.
The response came in the form of a collective exhaling from the encircling horde of at least a hundred Immortal Zombies.
Among them, the strongest two were the Yellow Sand Palm and the Thousand Facets Swordsman, both peerless warriors.
Raising his hands, Shang Jiu rapidly formed a barrage of blue sigils that flew out and turned into a hovering blue light that lingered in the air.
After accumulating several hundred sigils, he suddenly stepped back and spread his arms wide.
"Rise!"
He let out a low shout.
In an instant, a speck of white light appeared above and quickly expanded, transforming into a white-light portal over man-height tall.
"Done!" Shang Jiu called out lowly. "Quick, inside!"
In no time, the Immortal Zombies rushed into the teleportation portal.
A few seconds later, all the Immortal Zombies had entered it.
Shang Jiu didn’t overdo it and promptly closed the teleportation gate.
Then he waited silently, expecting feedback from the other side.
Over a hundred Immortal Zombies had gone through. Whether they had directly entered the core of the second continent of Cloud Realm, as the master said, all that was left was to wait for the results.
This was a test.
From morning until the afternoon, finally, the same spot once again emitted a speck of white light, and a new teleportation gate opened out of thin air.
Shang Jiu’s heart stirred, and he quickly hid himself to watch the developments.
The white light rapidly took shape, solidified, and stabilized.
Whoosh.
Three tall men in white robes with underlayers of blue and golden clothing stepped out from it. The leading man had half-silver, half-gold hair and wore a cape made of colorful feathers on his back, his expression indifferent and his eyes arrogant, tinged with impatience.
Recognizing the colorful feathers on the man’s back, Shang Jiu’s heart trembled for an instant.
He knew he had snagged a big fish.
Such capes were generally only worn by members of the Jiuyue Family Main Lineage, and if anyone else were found using one, they would be promptly investigated and captured.
This was a significant legal offense in Cloud Realm.
Most importantly, he had achieved his goal on the first attempt. The master needed a big fish with Divine Demon blood, and it had truly arrived!
"Ninth Young Master, we’ve arrived. The undying monsters that we could not kill were teleported here from this spot," one of the trio, a man with long brown hair, spoke quietly.
"As usual, investigate the source first, deal with the murderer. We have one day to investigate, and if we find nothing, we’ll just destroy the entire planet," Ninth Young Master ordered indifferently and lazily.
"Yes!" said the other two in unison.
As the three of them landed and were about to disperse in three directions, suddenly a blurry figure appeared behind them.
The figure swiftly gained clarity and solidified, revealing Li Chengyi with an expression of surprise.
"I can’t believe he’s arrived so quickly!" He had just received Shang Jiu’s message and immediately headed this way. He hadn’t expected to spot the three of them at first glance.
At this moment, he was not in the guise of Gong Shanzhu but took on the appearance of Song Ran, the captain of the Xuanji Sect’s life-risking elite team.
"Who are you?" The Ninth Prince frowned at Li Chengyi, the man’s entrance having placed him instantly on alert.
"Me?" Li Chengyi smiled.
The Floral Dress of Feilian subtly and quickly enveloped his body, blending seamlessly into his long robe.
"Allow me to introduce myself," he thought quickly, his appearance rapidly reverting to that of Gong Shanzhu himself.
"My name is Gong Shanzhu, and I am the man about to marry Han Zongdi."
Han Zongdi?
The Ninth Prince paused, then quickly caught on.
"You mean Princess Di? You’re going to marry her??" He looked utterly astonished.
"What? You wish to say something?" Li Chengyi frowned.
The Ninth Prince and his two subordinates looked at each other, exchanged silent glances, then suddenly burst into laughter.
Their laughter was incessant, bringing tears to their eyes, their bodies shaking on the sandy beach, unable to contain their hilarity.
"This native mortal actually dreams of marrying Princess Di!??"
"Heard many mortals lack brains, but never imagined one could be this naïve!?"
The laughter caused their stomachs to hurt, but as they observed the solemn and earnest expression across from them, their amusement gradually faded, and the laughter slowly ceased.
"A mere mortal... with no bloodline... and you think you can marry Princess Di? That’s... unlikely."
"My love for Xiaodi is genuine. I can become part of her family by marriage!" proclaimed Li Chengyi earnestly.
"Even so, it’s impossible," the Ninth Prince said with a hint of pity in his eyes.
"It would be for the best if there were no feelings between you, but if she has developed feelings for you... then you must be careful. The Imperial Family will certainly act to eliminate you directly, to prevent you from becoming Princess Di’s weakness."
"Why... why must it be this way!?" Li Chengyi’s face showed his anguish. "I’ve already given up so much, can’t I be given one chance? Why must you be so oppressive!? Xiaodi and I truly love each other!!"
"It’s not that..." The Ninth Prince was a bit stunned. Can you calm down a little? You’ve only spoken a few words.
Isn’t this too illogical? You were just fine a moment ago. In under three seconds you went from calm to angry to sad, isn’t your emotional response a bit... abnormal...?
"What do you mean it’s not that? I’ve already agreed to marry into the family! What more do you want!?" Li Chengyi said, a ’rage’ apparent on his face.
"I have humbled myself to the dust, and yet you still pressure me relentlessly. Since this is the case, don’t blame me..."
"Wait! Brother, hold on..." The Ninth Prince, watching the situation escalate rapidly, saw Li Chengyi’s expression speed up like a fast-forward scene, shifting quickly from grief to burning rage, ready to take action.
And he had barely said a few words. How was he being oppressive??
"Die!! Everyone who stands in the way of my true love with Xiaodi must die!!"
Alas, it was already too late.
The Ninth Prince only saw a blur before a massive yellow and black mountain appeared out of nowhere, obstructing his view.
’Good thing it’s just a common Golden Jade Martial Arts... even if I’m facing a lunatic, that’s all it is...’ The Ninth Prince hadn’t finished his thought when he saw the mountain in front of him solidify rapidly, growing larger at an alarming rate.
It began to show a vast amount of realistic details, and terrifying waves of power far beyond the level of unparalleled masters erupted from it.
His eyes widened in alarm, with no time for further thoughts, his skin split open, and countless black blood gushed out, enveloping his whole body. Behind him, a pair of huge black wings tore through his back, stretching out with the shadows of nine snakeheads emerging faintly.
The Jiuyue Family’s Nine Gods Overpowering Heaven Technique operated at full strength.
’Divine Power: Vajra!’
Black blood formed hexagonal shields floating in front of him, blocking everything.
But in an instant, the massive waves of power blinked out of existence, reappearing directly behind the Ninth Prince.
’How is that possible!? To teleport in such a massive surge of power without so much as a scratch!? This!!?’
The Ninth Prince was shocked but had no time to respond.
The colossal, terrifying mountain bore down from behind, bypassing the Vajra Divine Power shields, and heavily slammed into his protective demon yuan.
Crack!!
Amplified sixteen-fold by the Ultimate Form Floral Dress, the monstrous force pounded onto the surface of the demon yuan.
The innate golden yuan rapidly shattered, negated by the demon yuan, but negation was not enough to withstand the sheer quantity and quality of the innate golden yuan.
In just one second, the Ninth Prince felt something was wrong.
He tried to call out to his subordinates for help, but they were merely at the unparalleled level, and the aftershocks of the initial collision had blown them away, unable to lend a hand.
’It’s over...’ The Ninth Prince felt desperate.
Wasn’t he just wanting to take a leisurely trip out and about... Did it have to go this far!?
"I’ve already agreed to marry into the family! What more do you want!? This is tyranny!!" Li Chengyi’s roar still echoed in his ears.
’It’s not like... I barely said a few words... Besides, Princess Di isn’t even from our Jiuyue Family!? Why be so unreasonable!? This has nothing to do with us!!!’
In the last moments, the Ninth Prince’s mind was still haunted by an unresolved resentment.
Boom!!
The pitch-black mountain crushed down heavily on his back, causing him to spew out fresh blood violently. His waist cracked as if it were about to break.
If not for the extraordinary resilience of his demonic body, the mere sixteen-fold amplified force of several hundred tons would have been enough to overcome him.
But even so, he was instantly rendered incapable of fighting, shooting out towards the distant sea.
Before he could get far, a flash of black, and Li Chengyi, using the Divine Dark Dragon’s long-distance Shadow Flash, appeared behind him, delivering another blow.
Boom!
The Ninth Prince was struck back to his original position with precise force, his body covered in bloody wounds as he fell face-first onto the sandy ground, never to move again.
