Chapter 699: Concept 2 of 642

In the Black Sea.

Li Chengyi hadn’t been injured for several seconds now.

Even if he tried to cut himself now, he seemed to have trouble doing so.

A major characteristic of Eternal Vitality was that the enhancement of one’s own toughness and internal pressure far surpassed all others.

Whether it was strength, speed, or healing power, these were all secondary. The primary aspects were toughness and internal pressure.

"Where is he?" He focused his gaze, scanning his surroundings.

He found nothing.

The Black Sea was quiet.

He waited several minutes before he was certain the other party had really left.

Phew!

Exhaling a long breath, Li Chengyi leaped upward, beginning his return to the surface of the Black Sea.

His physical body had been blown apart, and now the fragments had merged into the Blind Spot, becoming one with it.

Unable to descend, he could only take the entire world’s Blind Spot up with him.

After all, his body had already gradually enclosed the entire squirrel’s Blind Spot within its inner layer.

Yes.

Due to having absorbed too quickly, his body had completely ingested the Blind Spot and began to engulf other matter within the Black Sea. Its actual volume had now surpassed that of the former squirrel’s Blind Spot.

As he ascended with difficulty, Li Chengyi also pondered a question.

’Why can’t I even sense the other party?’

From start to finish, the initiative had been with the other party. All he could do was stand in place, enduring all of the other’s attacks until finally, the opponent couldn’t continue and had to leave.

With such doubts in mind, Li Chengyi continued to accelerate upward.

As he progressively escaped from the Black Sea Depths, the power he could wield also increased, and his flying speed grew faster.

The various Flower Language Abilities rapidly recovered their original potency.

Soon, the portal to Silent Oblivion City, which solidified space-time, appeared before his eyes.

Seeing the portal, Li Chengyi knew he was safe.

Because it was very close to Silent Oblivion City.

As long as he entered that portal, he could return to Silent Oblivion City!

"Li Chengyi!" Suddenly, a male voice called out from far off to the side.

Li Chengyi looked sideward and saw a red-haired Taoist, adorned with exquisite jewelry, with a face of surprise approaching him.

"Zhou Lu?" Zhou Lu, one of the Three Stars and also a master who had kindled the Divine Fire. A disciple of Silent Oblivion City.

"You succeeded!?" As Zhou Lu approached, the smile on his face suddenly froze, and his complexion changed dramatically. He had clearly sensed something.

"Yes, I was fortunate to ascend to Saint Position..." Li Chengyi said, sighing with emotion.

"....." Zhou Lu’s face turned red. He had just kindled Divine Fire, and in so little time, he had ascended to Saint?!

Looking at Li Chengyi before him, he felt it was quite unreal.

He didn’t seem that talented... how could it happen so fast?!

"Brother Li... which path did you take?" he asked softly, his voice filled with complexity.

It was too fast, really too fast.

This pace was nearly catching up with the record for the fastest ascension to Saint Position in the history of Tian Ju Pavilion.

In just a few months’ time, he had leaped from Divine Fire to Saint Position... Was this the value of the Nine Stars rated Eternal Vitality?

"I took the path of Fusion, truly, it was extremely difficult..." Li Chengyi lamented. "Apologies, I have urgent matters to discuss with Master Tian Xuanzi, I must take my leave now!" He said, giving a formal fist salute.

"No trouble, Brother Li is now a Saint, there’s no need for such formalities..." Zhou Lu hastily returned the gesture.

He too had found a Blind Spot World and was on the first path of ascension.

Originally, he aimed high and was determined to take the path of creating a world to attain Saint Position but, unfortunately... he failed.

Just as he had made a start, some creatures drawn by the Black Sea gravely damaged the embryonic world, resulting in significant losses.

In the end, reluctantly, he chose the simplest of the paths.

After several months, he had just barely prepared the preliminary work and hadn’t even started yet... and in the meantime Li Chengyi...

Whoosh!

Zhou Lu watched with complicated feelings as Li Chengyi dashed into the portal and disappeared in the blink of an eye. The ease he had initially prepared evaporated.

’A genius? Or is it the special nature of Eternal Vitality?’

In the records, Eternal Vitality was indeed a Taboo System that developed extremely fast, but it was also extremely dangerous.

The nine-star risk factor had made him step back from it in the past, and now...

Without further thought, Zhou Lu turned and kept moving toward the Blind Spot World of his choice to attain Saint Position.

Inside Silent Oblivion City.

Li Chengyi made a leap, landing with agility.

He first went to find Sage Qianyan to inquire about the whereabouts of his senior brother, Xuan Yunzi.

After all, going to Master Tian Xuanzi, it was best to have his senior brother guide the way.

"Xuan Yunzi? That fellow is out leading the newcomers. After all, his main duty is still to protect those seeds with potential." Sage Qianyan was lying on a bamboo chair, legs crossed, nonchalantly picking his nose.

Once he was comfortable with someone, he reverted to his true self, no longer caring about his image.

After picking, he wiped his hand on his Taoist robe, then looked sideways at Li Chengyi.

"Weren’t you off to seek your domain for ascension? How come you returned so quick..."

In an instant, his eyes changed. He stared fixedly at Li Chengyi, cutting his words short.

"What have you got there?"

"What have I got?" Li Chengyi asked, confused. "What do you mean, Sage?"

"How many months has it been since you left?" Sage Qianyan leaped off the recliner, hands behind his back, walking in circles around Li Chengyi, round and round.

"Is this the value of a nine-star rated danger?" He appeared shaken, his eyes wide with shock, as if he were looking at something beyond comprehension.

"Is there a problem?" Li Chengyi asked, a bit nervous. "By the way, I’m not here because of that, but because someone just attacked me!"

"Attacked? You’ve reached Saint strength and you still got attacked? How about it? Did you bring the corpse?" Sage Qianyan said, speechless.

He knew how powerful the Eternal Vitality System was; anyone daring to attack a Saint of this taboo system should be prepared for their own demise.

"I didn’t win," Li Chengyi shook his head and sighed. "The opponent was extremely strong, and after realizing they couldn’t kill me, they retreated on their own. I couldn’t catch their trail."

"So, you’re asking the pavilion to investigate the matter?" Sage Qianyan asked.

"Is that not allowed?"

"Of course not! Aren’t you unharmed? Take care of your own matters, something even many kindergarten kids in various worlds know. If you really die, our ancestors will avenge you," Sage Qianyan said lazily.

He then took another careful look at Li Chengyi and shook his head.

"You’ve indeed made it, but your speed...even though the Eternal Vitality System is inherently fast, this is just too fast...tsk tsk..."

"What do you mean by that, Sage? Isn’t being fast a good thing?" Li Chengyi narrowed his eyes.

"Being fast in other things can be good, but with your system... the faster you are, the more dangerous it is..." Sage Qianyan obviously had seen the geniuses who had been killed by the Eternal Vitality System before.

He held up a finger.

"Those who chose this system in the past and reached Saint Position took no less than ten years to do so. But the ones who reached sainthood faster also died faster. One of the fastest took only a year and a half to become a saint, then lasted only three years before they were gone."

"...Can’t you say something positive?" Li Chengyi was at a loss for words.

"The good news is... you don’t need to look for Xuan Yunzi anymore. A more suitable master has come." Sage Qianyan pointed outside the window.

Li Chengyi looked in the direction he indicated and saw a procession of disciples clad in Taoist robes from Silent Oblivion City, closely following a tiger-headed Taoist in a purple robe as he walked at a leisurely pace.

Everyone was very respectful, surrounding the tiger-headed Taoist and continuously asking him for guidance.

"That is...?" Li Chengyi felt an extremely intense and exaggerated special fluctuation coming from the group.

The fluctuation was powerful; about a dozen Taoists, each like a black hole, were unscrupulously devouring every breath that came too close.

"Don’t recognize our City Lord? That’s her original form!" said Sage Qianyan, speechless.

He waved his hand impatiently. "Go on, if you have any questions, go ask her quickly. You can also get her to open the door to see your master. Once she’s gone, it will be tough to find her again."

Li Chengyi nodded, without another word, and leaped out of the window.

Thud.

The dull sound of his fall immediately drew the attention of the group of Taoists.

A few turned their heads to look at him but didn’t pay much attention.

After all, a Saint wasn’t a rarity in Silent Oblivion City.

However, the City Lord walking in the front took an interested look at him.

"Li Chengyi?" she asked softly.

"Chengyi pays respects to the City Lord," Li Chengyi hurried forward to salute.

"I know what you want to do; there’s no need to worry. All obstacles and troubles are merely embellishments on your future path," the Lord of Silent Oblivion City said with a smile.

"You mean..." Li Chengyi was taken aback; he hadn’t yet spoken about what he wanted to say.

"Eternal Vitality is exceptionally dangerous. You must achieve perfection in your Imprint within a set time and accomplish dimensional perfection. If you can’t, your death is certain. Compared to such peril, any opponent or enemy is just a minor inconvenience; your real enemy is actually yourself," the City Lord said succinctly.

"Thank you, City Lord! It’s just that this time, I also want to..." Li Chengyi’s words were cut off when he suddenly saw the City Lord raise her hand and point.

Pfft.

His entire being whirled in an instant, everything around him rapidly transforming into a multitude of chaotic, spinning color blocks.

Then, the colors began to fade, leaving only black and white.

After that, everything jolted to a halt suddenly.

Whoosh!!

He snapped back to awareness.

Upon looking around once more, he found himself within the world of Master Tian Xuanzi’s Cold Hut.

"I hadn’t finished speaking..." he said speechlessly, shaking his head and feeling a bit dizzy.

He had actually wanted to ask about the matter of the First Generation Flower Emperor, but just now he could hardly put together a complete sentence.

Fortunately, he had made it in and could now report directly to his master.

Rolling off the wooden bed from his usual spot, Li Chengyi pulled open the door and walked on the earthen ground painted with black and white lines.

His gaze shifted around, searching for the whereabouts of Master Tian Xuanzi.

Before long, he caught sight of an elderly figure transplanting rice seedlings in the field.

It was indeed Tian Xuanzi.

"Master!" Li Chengyi, without a word, rushed over and knelt down in profound respect.

"Master, do you know that your disciple has just narrowly escaped a disaster??" His expression carried a touch of weariness as he spoke solemnly.

Tian Xuanzi finished planting the last rice seedling, stood up straight, dusted off his hands, and looked at Li Chengyi.

"You want to ask about the person who attacked you, and what kind of method they used, right?" Tian Xuanzi said with a chuckle.

"Master’s insight is keen," Li Chengyi quickly bowed his head.

"It was a dimension," said Tian Xuanzi, not withholding the information.

He strolled leisurely, leading Li Chengyi back to the edge of the field and sitting down on a low wooden stool.

"Do you know what is needed to go from a Saint to a dimension, and how to achieve it?" he asked indifferently.

"That... The Taboo System within your disciple’s knowledge has a record of it, but cannot be put into words," Li Chengyi nodded.

The restriction of forbidden knowledge was one of the most fundamental rules of the Black Sea, immutable; even if he could speak of it, Tian Xuanzi wouldn’t be able to hear it.

"No matter, the difference is minor anyway," Tian Xuanzi shook his head. "The so-called Dimensional Demon Gods were actually the first batch of Saints from the earliest times, who, in their quest to find the enemy’s weakness, stumbled upon this path by chance."

He reached out his hand, and a cup of freshly brewed hot tea appeared naturally within it, from which he took a sip.

"The original Saints were indestructible, with Holy Bodies immensely strong, far stronger than the Saint Position nowadays. For anyone to fight each other would have just been a meaningless activity that wore away time. Until later... a Saint found a new method."

"What method?" Li Chengyi eagerly asked.

"A method to break the indestructible Holy Bodies," said Tian Xuanzi with a smile.

"Is it dimension?" Li Chengyi asked.

"Exactly," Tian Xuanzi nodded. "Creating an extra dimension of one’s own. This dimension does not exist among all things in the Black Sea; it is unique, reshaping everything from its own perspective. Within this dimension, all things have an additional set of complete, logical definitions. And in a dimension that the Saints have never before encountered, the so-called indestructible Holy Bodies are nothing but a joke."

Tian Xuanzi pinched his beard, smilingly said.

"So, this is essentially, since you have no weakness, then I will create one for you. If you are incredibly strong, I will compete with you to see who can be weaker. Of course, in reality, no such comparative dimensions exist. Such would also make a laughingstock of the Dimensional Demon Gods themselves—I’m merely giving an example."
