Chapter 394 - 361 Shadow Eater One

Chapter 394: 361 Shadow Eater One

Reality.

Dongshan Province, Tong City.

Previously, a riot broke out at the outskirts helipad, but soon everything returned to quiet.

The thugs did not continue causing trouble, did not kill people indiscriminately, but strangely, they quietly retreated.

Aside from a few Feiyi Masters mysteriously disappearing on the scene, everything else was without any abnormalities.

Swoosh!

In the clear blue sky, a squadron of silver flying machines rapidly descended, landing gently on the rooftop of the Association Building at the center of Tong City.

Several members of the Association had been waiting there beforehand.

The Jiu Yi Regional Commissioner responsible for coordinating security affairs across the province, Liu Zhen, approached urgently with an eager expression.

One by one, the cabin doors opened, and heavy exoskeleton warriors clad in black armor with white patterns leaped out of the flying machines.

Fifteen exoskeleton heavy-armored warriors, armed with firearms and carrying shields and war swords on their backs, alighted with the agility of monkeys. They landed so quietly that it resembled the sound of crumpling paper hitting the ground.

All the heavy-armored warriors had blue V-shaped electronic eyes on their helmets, scanning their surroundings.

After landing, two of them swiftly took out some strange mechanical parts from behind and began installing them on the rooftop’s ground.

It didn’t take long to finish the installation.

Buzz.

Waves of invisible fluctuations transmitted towards the distance.

Quickly.

Swoosh!

Three beams of light shot explosively from afar, rapidly slowing down as they approached the rooftop and landed gently.

The beams of light were two white and one blue.

The blue light dispersed, revealing a coldly beautiful woman dressed in armor resembling a blue dress.

The woman had an icy demeanor, with blue hair, lips, and eyes, and skin pale to the point of being unhealthy, without a touch of color.

Her armor seemed oddly distributed on the surface.

The dark blue protective plates barely covered three crucial points, leaving her thighs, arms, and neck exposed as if she had no fears of being injured.

On each shoulder, there were spires like bull’s horns, curving upwards towards the sky, nearly as high as her head.

Behind her, a blue diamond-shaped crystal floated and whirled slowly.

"I am Ding Xianhong. You must be Zhao Chengyu and Zhu Bin, right?" the woman said, her eyes flashing blue as she looked towards the other two beams of light.

The two white lights gradually faded.

Revealing two young men with vastly different appearances.

One man held a feather fan, draped in a white robe and a white veil, with a silver and golden Tai Chi Diagram inlaid on his left face.

This man was the second most formidable expert in the Zhao Family next to Zhao Chengxi, the Yin-Yang Flying God Saber Zhao Chengyu.

The other man had a stern face and sharp, spirited eyes. He was dressed simply in grey pants and a long shirt, with only a pure white, luminescent Chopping Knife floating behind him.

The Chopping Knife was exquisitely elegant, with a golden handle that almost made up half of its length, wrapped in a minutely carved landscape painting of mountains, flowers, and birds.

The silver-white blade carried three ancient purplish characters.

Mysterious silver stardust sparkled around the blade, a special effect of some sort.

This man was from one of the Yi Country’s Nine Great Families, the Zhu Family, and was a top Grade Eight expert—the Dragon Slayer Scorpion, Zhu Bin.

Just by his title daring to use "Dragon Slayer," one could tell the extent of his formidable strength.

It could be said that if not for the limited resources and energy, Zhu Bin could have been the Zhu Family’s second Grade Nine.

Alas, the entire energy resources of Yi Country could only support a maximum of nine Grade Nine experts.

Beyond that, there was no extra capacity.

Ding Family’s Ding Xianhong, Zhu Family’s Zhu Bin, Zhao Family’s Zhao Chengyu.

The three of them were the individuals charged with handling the Shadow Eater incident.

"This incident has caused an uproar, so we need to stabilize the situation as much as possible during our handling of it, and prevent the situation from escalating. Therefore, we must act quickly, and when dealing with targets, better to wrongly kill than let go." Ding Xianhong, as the appointed leader, set forth the action plan.

"It should be so," Zhu Bin said calmly.

"Let’s resolve this quickly. I was originally negotiating with a business group when I was suddenly called over to do this..." Zhao Chengyu appeared somewhat impatient.

Grade Eight, throughout the entire Yi Country, weren’t many.

Not to mention top-tier Grade Eight experts like them, who belonged to the level of the Thirteen Flying Flow Sect Leader.

Each person commanded a great number of vassals and forces.

If it were not for the disappearance of a suspected Grade Seven Feiyi Master, in addition to the higher-ups needing to quickly suppress the situation, coupled with the fact that the source of the disturbance came from the Black Sea,

Such a minor issue would not require their intervention. Simply mobilizing heavy weapons and using Heavenly Eye to lock on and bomb the area would suffice.

"Heavenly Eye has confirmed that the target is still within the city, so our task is simple: find, lock on, solve," Ding Xianhong stated succinctly.

"Okay."

"Then let’s get started. Six city districts, each person is responsible for one sector. If you spot the enemy, send a message immediately. No problems, right?" Zhao Chengyu asked quickly.

"Okay," Zhu Bin said succinctly.

"Let’s go!"

Ding Xianhong glanced at the surrounding guard soldiers, nodded to the welcoming Commissioner Liu Zhen and others, then his body floated up and flew towards the ground below.

The other two also instantly turned into two white lights, soaring into the sky and shooting towards other directions.

However, all three of them missed one detail.

Among the bustling crowd below, an office worker who seemed to be making a phone call suddenly cast a fleeting glance their way.

Under the feet of this office worker was a faint shadow, which unerringly took the form of a serpent with wings—the Shadow Dragon.

Black Sea.

Countless Black Sea breaths continuously flowed into Li Chengyi, wrapped up into a grey sphere.

The water in the Black Sea is difficult to describe as any particular substance.

It seems to be a mixture of countless materials, yet at times it appears to have no solid form, at times becoming ethereal, at times condensing, at times thickening, at times diluting.

The so-called breath of the Black Sea is a sort of special purity of indeterminate nature that is drawn out and fused into Li Chengyi’s body at this moment.

Time passed without measure.

Perhaps an hour, two hours, or even longer.

Suddenly, the ash ball trembled slowly, and a fine crack appeared in its midst.

The crack rapidly widened, turning into a fracture that spread across the entire sphere.

Puff.

The sphere finally shattered, the grey fragments melting back into flames of death energy, which Li Chengyi absorbed back into himself.

He lay on his back in the Black Sea, eyes tightly closed, the floral language on his body no longer glowing.

Similarly, the Black Sea aura in his body had become incredibly rich following the recent transformation.

He was almost indistinguishable from the weaker Black Sea creatures he had encountered before.

Without the conspicuous glow of the floral language nor the visible grey sphere of death energy, Li Chengyi at this moment seemed like a drop of water merging into the ocean.

His presence quickly diminished, gradually vanishing from the myriad gazes around him.

There he lay, floating, directionless, unaware of his whereabouts.

About half an hour more passed by.

Finally, his consciousness regained its clarity.

’Is it over?’

Li Chengyi took a deep breath only to realize he couldn’t breathe at all, his mouth and nose completely blocked, with no air outside.

Luckily, he could survive for at least a day without breathing, so he wasn’t immediately concerned about a lack of oxygen.

The Shadow Dragon didn’t need oxygen, nor did it need to breathe. If necessary, he could switch to the Shadow Dragon’s mode of existence.

’The imprinting seems to have been successful.’

He lowered his head to check his body.

Right where his heart should be, opposite his chest, a sinister dark red tumor was bulging out.

A multitude of blood vessels, like tree roots, spread densely around the tumor.

A continuous sense of fullness radiated from there throughout his body.

With a casual grasp, Li Chengyi felt that his body was much lighter than before.

As if his weight had halved.

"It should have been successful," he said.

He tried to move his body, recalling the annotation of the Floral Luck technique from just before. This time, he did not activate the Radiance Field.

Instead, he simply let himself float in the Black Sea.

’I cannot see, hear, smell, or taste, all I have is touch. Maybe it’s because I haven’t activated the non-gate. This time, by fully integrating the imprint, it’s like a mysterious door has opened directly to the Black Sea, coupled with the Imprint Orb and my own level of strength reaching the threshold.’

’The problem now is that I must find a way to leave this place as soon as possible. The Black Sea is host to all kinds of peculiar objects; it’s not safe to linger.’

He tried to turn over, making himself prone and descending.

But as he turned, his hand touched something hard and chillingly cold that was oblong in shape.

He grasped the object and pulled hard.

Puff.

A stick as thick as an arm was pulled out from the black mud.

Once he grasped the stick, Li Chengyi suddenly could see it.

It was a pale bone stick, about a meter long and as thick as a fist.

At the top of the stick, there were some tiny black worms like earthworms attached to it.

These worms seemed to be feeding on the stick, having drilled several black holes into it.

’What in the world...’ Li Chengyi thought to throw it away but restrained himself.

One does not simply enter the Black Sea at will.

Taking something back as a memento wouldn’t hurt.

He shook off the worms from the stick and then picked it up, swinging it around.

With no gravity, it was naturally impossible to feel its weight.

But at least it felt easy to handle.

Now armed with a tool, Li Chengyi began to close his eyes and sense the connection between himself and the Floral Bead.

There were quite a few links between him and reality.

First was the connection with the Floral Bead of the Purple Delicate Flower. Since the flower lacked this ability, this connection was very faint.

Next was the link with the Holy Infant of the Holy Spirit Technique. This was comparatively much stronger.

Li Chengyi tried both.

To his surprise, he felt absolutely nothing from the Holy Infant, but from the Floral Bead, he sensed a slight connection.

This faint connection gave him some sense of direction.

"Seems like it’s to the lower left!"

Once he had a general sense of the direction, Li Chengyi turned and swam swiftly toward the lower left like swimming.

He still maintained his Dragon Transformation, and the Floral Dress blinked to Feilian’s Shadow Dragon version.

With a flap of his wings, his speed surged remarkably.

Even though the Shadow Dragon moved slowly here, it was much faster than he was on his own.

Puff.

As he swam, he suddenly encountered a large, hard, fan-shaped object.

He pulled it toward himself, and this time, he found a large grey-white fan-shaped bone, not knowing from which creature it came. The edges were already much dissolved and frayed, and the surface was covered in dense honeycomb-like pores.

Li Chengyi checked it, made sure there were no worms, tapped it, noted its high hardness, and grabbed it to use as a shield. This way, he wouldn’t have to touch anything directly and could avoid hazards should they arise.

He continued swimming forward.

Soon, as he swam, a soft, round, ball-shaped object was hooked by the bone fan and pulled back towards him.
