Chapter 193: 181 Variation 1 (Thanks | Joking | Alliance Hierarch’s Reward)
Crack.
Li Chengyi’s boots crushed a pile of withered leaves, pressing down a clump of weeds that had completely turned yellow.
He stopped and squinted his eyes slightly.
"Hello. Is there something you need me for?" He immediately gave his respectful greetings to the elder of an important member of the team.
"...." The other side fell silent and didn’t immediately respond.
Not hearing an echo, Li Chengyi wasn’t rushed either, waiting quietly.
About ten seconds later.
The voice on the other end of the phone finally spoke again.
"I originally... had a lot to say."
"But...later I felt that those words were meaningless. In fact, this call could also have been unnecessary, because truly, there was no need for it."
"But I still wanted to hear what kind of person you are."
The person’s several statements were somewhat complex, but Li Chengyi quickly caught on.
"Would it be alright if I address you as Uncle?"
"Suit yourself," the other party replied casually.
"Well now that you have heard my voice, what are your thoughts?" Li Chengyi asked.
The father of Rainbow Candy, without thinking, was definitely a super capitalist beyond his comprehension.
Such a big shot, in this era where money represents power, suddenly calling him. The only possibility, of course, was related to Rainbow Candy.
"I have learned a lot about the Blind Spot. To say things like ’I hope you can protect my daughter more’ would be utterly meaningless. You are partners, a team; naturally, you have your own considerations and coordination," said Rainbow Candy’s father somberly.
"So, what do you mean?" Li Chengyi asked.
"I’ve looked into your background, your team, and you’ve made quite a few enemies."
"Made enemies?"
"You all are still young, there is no need to do things that might lead to regret later on. You are a Blind Spot Individual, but what about your family? Your friends?" said Rainbow Candy’s father in a low voice.
"We are aware of that," Li Chengyi answered.
"Utopia, one faction within Jiu Yi, in just less than a year, you’ve stirred up so many enemies. These all pose significant hidden dangers," continued the other party.
"So what should we do? Just let them kill us and wait for death?" Li Chengyi retorted.
"Avoid them. Be tolerant," came the brief reply on the phone.
Silence.
Both of them fell silent for a moment.
"Young man, I don’t know what sort of forces are backing you, but judging by the scale and module standards you’ve demonstrated, you are still far from matching the high-end level of Utopia."
"In short, you are too weak..."
"I understand," Li Chengyi said with a laugh, "You’re worried about your daughter being implicated by me, aren’t you?"
"That’s right if you understand," Rainbow Candy’s father replied affirmatively, "I know you just fought and won against White Skeleton and Noel Group’s Andy. But... if it wasn’t for Jiu Yi blocking the chase outside, do you believe that Utopia could summon dozens of experts on the level of White Skeleton in an instant?"
"I believe," Li Chengyi replied.
"Andy was just a common businessman who knows a bit about Combat Technique, relying solely on high-spec force field Modification Modules, and that made you all struggle for so long without breaking through."
It was only when he unleashed his full strength that he was able to defeat Andy. Yet, even then, it was just a defeat, not a killing blow with one palm.
This was nothing short of a miracle.
"Blind Spot is closing in step by step, yet you also keep making more enemies unnecessarily, I cannot understand your way of survival," Rainbow Candy’s father went on.
"So, you’re saying in a roundabout way that we’re too weak? That we should keep a low profile?" said Li Chengyi.
"You could see it that way. Frankly, if my daughter weren’t so stubborn and rebellious, I would have preferred her not to get close to you."
"You are a good father, making this call probably in the hopes of provoking my rebellious spirit, so that I would stay away from your daughter voluntarily, right?" Li Chengyi guessed the other’s intentions.
"Since you understand, there’s not much else that needs to be said," admitted Rainbow Candy’s father.
"Sorry, I can’t do that," Li Chengyi said frankly. "Rainbow Candy and I are friends, we are teammates. Not you and I."
"Moreover, if you don’t have anything else, I’m hanging up." He didn’t bother with further words and directly ended the call.
From this conversation, he understood why Rainbow Candy had such a rebellious character. With such an apparently gentle but in reality overbearing father, making decisions for his daughter without asking her opinion, anyone would rebel.
Pocketing his phone, Li Chengyi took the other’s warning to heart.
Indeed, the team now had quite a few enemies. Like Utopia and certain factions within Jiu Yi, if they could not be utterly destroyed, the only option was to protect oneself and not to show any weaknesses. To grow stronger quickly.
’It seems...it’s about time to find a way to temporarily lend out Floral Dress’s Flower Language Technique...’
Li Chengyi’s mind flashed with images of the Flower Language Technique.
Up to now, the flowers he had recorded covered most of the common species, yet none of these species possessed such capabilities.
Next, he planned to continue scouring for rare flowers, as well as the exotic flowers within the Blind Spot.
Lending out the complete Floral Dress to someone else wasn’t realistic.
The best way was to disguise the Floral Dress as an exoskeleton full body armor. The floral transformation of dressing and undressing could be explained with special particle robots.

Thousands of miles away from Fuzong Province, in Andu.
In a dark wooden hall.
The setting sun’s red light poured in through the round arch window, falling on the dressing table, and on the body of a woman in a red dress who was arranging her hair and makeup.
The tapping of light footsteps came from behind the woman.
Someone was approaching.
"What’s the matter? Weren’t you arranging a new team for your beloved daughter?"
The woman didn’t turn her head, gently wiping off the pink from her lips with a moist towel.
"She refused," came the man’s low reply from behind.
"So, with all these things you’ve sent over, does that mean we’re completely severing ties?" the woman asked.
"Yeah," the man replied noncommittally.
"Xin Chai has no hope left, you’re being too impulsive..." the woman said.
"Is she even your biological daughter?" the man interjected.
"It’s just extracorporeal gestation, we can have as many as we want," the woman answered.
"Since you don’t care about her, then stop meddling in my decisions!" the man said coldly.
"Aren’t you equally indifferent towards Xing Jie?" the woman retorted. "They’re both your children, but Xing Jie is the true hope of our family!"
"Enough!" the man roared. "Xin Chai isn’t dead yet!"
"Once into the Blind Spot, there are no exceptions." The woman slowly turned her head, revealing a charming and fair face.
However, the left side of that face was covered with fine silver lines.
A breeze blew, and blue electric light silently flowed along the lines.
"This is the choice. Xin Chai is no longer of any value," the woman said softly. "In a family like ours, being worthless means only one thing: to be abandoned."
Bang!
The man behind her left without a word, slamming the door as he went.

Several days later.
Everpeace Garden.
The sun was bright, yet its rays felt utterly warmthless.
By the fountain at the entrance, Da Xiong had set up a temporary tent and was sitting inside, dressed in a nurse’s uniform, beaming at the teammates lined up for injections.
After so many trials, there was more trust among them than at the beginning.
Like now.
Slap.
Rainbow Candy smacked Dragon Gate Crane on the head.
"Where are your eyes wandering!?"
Dragon Gate Crane yelped and quickly redirected his gaze away from Da Xiong’s chest.
"I’m just concerned that Little Sister Da Xiong didn’t wear enough and might be cold," he said helplessly, covering his head.
"Oh, you’re being kind?" Rainbow Candy chuckled twice, stepped forward, rolled up her sleeves, and sat down in front of Da Xiong.
She eyed her friend’s exposed figure from top to bottom.
Da Xiong already had a good figure, and now in a white tight-fitting nurse’s uniform, it was even more pronounced.
"The buttons on your chest are about to pop off!"
"What’s on your mind? Why aren’t you wearing a lab coat!?" She slapped the table in front of Da Xiong.
"But... if I have a good figure, why can’t I show it off?" Da Xiong blinked innocently, with a look of puzzled naivety.
Rainbow Candy gritted her teeth, her anger building.
Bang!
She slammed the table again, about to shout.
biu!
Suddenly, a syringe precisely hit her arm.
In less than a second, it was pulled out, leaving a faint black dot on her skin.
"Alright, that’s it. Next." Da Xiong smiled and extended her hand, gesturing for the next person to come forward.
Before Rainbow Candy could vent her anger, she felt her body become as heavy as if it had been filled with lead.
Two strong nurses ready nearby stepped forward and helped her away.
Then came the next one.
Xiao Zhong.
After Da Xiong’s manipulations, Xiao Zhong turned red and flushed, then she received the injection.
Xiao Zhong stiffened, but was slightly better off than Rainbow Candy; he could barely shuffle away on his own to lie down in the rest area.
Dragon Gate Crane stepped forward, swallowing nervously.
"Don’t worry, Little Sister Da Xiong, although Brother can be a bit perverted normally, I am still reliable when it matters!" he assured her, patting his chest.
"You don’t need to provoke." Da Xiong laughed. "How about I let you lie next to Sister Tang afterward?"
"Ah!?" Dragon Gate Crane immediately blushed, his heart rate soaring to 120.
After the injection, he collapsed on the spot and was dragged away.
Finally, it was Li Chengyi’s turn.
"Brother Cheng, maybe you should find a way yourself?" Da Xiong blinked, "This Strengthening Injection needs to be administered when the blood flow is accelerated, that’s when it works best."
She thrust out her chest and noticed that Li Chengyi’s demeanor hadn’t changed at all, his breathing stable, seemingly unaffected.
"I see, so you dressed like this for everyone’s benefit. Hard work indeed." Li Chengyi didn’t truly ignore her attractive figure, but his control over his circulation and impulse was much stronger.
"Partly," Da Xiong smiled. "But mainly it’s because I like that feeling of being envied by others who can look but can’t touch."
Li Chengyi was at a loss for words; this girl’s inside was as dark as her humor. Completely filled with wicked tastes.
But he could understand. The immense pressure from the Blind Spot meant that everyone had their own way of relieving stress.
He stretched out his arm, still in short sleeves despite the weather. As he extended it, the black lines on his fair skin caught Da Xiong’s attention.
"What’s this...?" She touched the black lines curiously but could not feel anything.
"Just some tattoos, it’s alright, give me the injection," Li Chengyi calmly replied.
"Okay." Da Xiong put away her curiosity and aimed the needle at his skin.
The needle bent???!
It didn’t go in!
