Blind Spot
Chapter 125: Fusion 115 Five

Chapter 125: Fusion 115 Five

’What do we do now?’

Li Chengyi had never encountered such a situation before.

He looked around and reached out to grab the little girl’s collar from behind, attempting to lift her up.

There was a snapping sound, and the girl’s nightgown began to tear.

He had no choice but to put her down again.

"Ah!!"

Suddenly, a sharp sound pierced his eardrums, causing him pain.

The little girl woke up and began to scream in terror, desperately struggling with her hands and feet.

She looked at the figure in the purple Armor in front of her with horror, as if she had seen something extremely terrifying.

"Quiet." Li Chengyi said loudly.

The screaming stopped abruptly.

The horror on the girl’s face halted for a moment, and then, slowly, like defrosting pork, her expression softened, became animated, and was no longer hysterical.

Her big watery eyes stared at Li Chengyi for a few seconds.

"&#@#*&!" As soon as the girl began to speak, it was a stream of incomprehensible, strange language.

"What do you mean? Do you have a translator?" Li Chengyi asked in Yi Country’s language. He only knew a little White Star Language besides Yi Country’s language, but this language was clearly not White Star Language.

The girl realized he couldn’t understand her and stared blankly at him, unsure of what to do. She obviously didn’t have a translator.

Sighing, Li Chengyi remembered he still had AR glasses, but couldn’t wear them in the state of the Purple Floral Dress due to space constraints.

In fact, the body in Floral Dress state was quite peculiar; all the mechanical equipment that used to be on the body seemed to be transferred to another space, completely immobilized.

Everything would return only after he dispelled the Floral Dress.

The two of them stared at each other for a while.

It was Li Chengyi who first thought of a solution. He reached for his phone, found the built-in translation software, and opened it.

’Sorry, this program requires an internet connection.’

A line of text automatically popped up.

Li Chengyi then suddenly remembered the AR setup database provided by the boss.

He quickly went through his luggage.

He soon found a black, palm-sized metal cube with a built-in display.

He turned it on, operated it, connected it, and loaded the offline functions.

"Ah!" Suddenly, Li Chengyi saw the little girl pointing behind him, her eyes widened with a scream.

Without thinking, he turned and swung his sword down in a diagonal slash.

But besides a wisp of black smoke, there was nothing behind him.

Creak...

Just while he was rummaging for things, Li Chengyi found that the door of the room, which he had just closed, had been opened by someone at some unknown time.

Outside the door, on the corridor, there was a small figure, only as tall as a common adult’s thigh, slowly approaching from the darkness.

The figure kept getting closer.

Kept moving.

Until it was about to reach the room’s doorway, it stopped.

Everything seemed to stand still.

The figure didn’t move, and neither did Li Chengyi.

The blonde little girl behind him, also with a face full of terror, didn’t dare to move or even breathe too loudly.

Li Chengyi slowly set down the mobile database in his hand.

He gazed intently at the small black figure at the door.

"A living person?" he asked out loud.

The other party didn’t respond.

Just stood there, calm and silent.

Having confirmed the other party’s identity, Li Chengyi had no further scruples.

Whoosh.

The Golden Sword in his hand quickly changed into a longer and wider one-meter Golden Sword.

He suddenly burst forth with power, stomping down hard.

Boom!

In an instant, he surged out, swinging the Golden Sword forcefully at the small figure.

In the darkness, the Golden Sword Blade traced a fine golden arc, hitting the target.

But... the blade merely glided lightly over the figure, penetrating through without any sense of solidity.

The figure dispersed like a reflection in the water, blurring and vanishing.

All returned to calm as if nothing had happened.

Li Chengyi stood at the door, carefully observing the corridor outside.

The darkness in the corridor evoked the same feeling as the darkness outside the Silent Store—mysterious, unknown, dangerous!

After closing the door again, he slowly backed to his previous position, leaned against the wall, picked up the database, and initiated the interfacing with the phone.

The electronic light of modern technology attracted the utterly frightened little girl. She instinctively moved a little closer to Li Chengyi, watching the faint glow of the phone and database screens, with her whole body icy and trembling slightly.

Li Chengyi fiddled for a while before he completed the offline link to use the function.

Then, he looked at the remaining 87% battery on his phone.

’Good thing I suffer from severe phone battery anxiety... Less than ninety percent battery life, and I start getting uncomfortable, looking everywhere for a charger.’

Seeing the 87 percent battery life, a faint sense of security rose in Li Chengyi’s heart.

He glanced at the blonde little girl who had moved close by, pointed at his phone with his finger, and motioned for her to look.

The girl seemed to be about ten years old, which was quite old; she should recognize a few characters in her native language.

Seeing Li Chengyi’s gesture, the little girl understood quickly and nodded smartly.

Immediately, the two began to check one language after another.

In the app’s demonstration language selection, there were hundreds of densely packed languages. Each language would have its own name translated into both Yi Country’s language and another language.

The little girl watched for a while, then reached out her finger and tapped on the column for Sutanese.

"Sutanese?" Li Chengyi reacted and chose this language for translation, then started typing.

"Yes. My name is Yserine, thank you for saving me just now." The little girl babbled a bunch, and the mobile screen swiftly displayed the translated text.

This time Li Chengyi finally understood.

He breathed a sigh of relief. This was his first time experiencing the cruelty of the blind spot.

It wouldn’t overlook you just because you are young, intentionally skipping you.

Regardless of age, when facing a blind spot, everyone is treated the same.

"My name is Xiao Hao. Yi Country." Li Chengyi typed and entered the words, then translated them for the girl to see.

"Xiao Hao?" The girl Yserine carefully pronounced the name while pointing at the translated text on the phone.

"Yes. How did you get in here? How long have you been here? Are there others?" Li Chengyi asked while keeping a vigilant eye on his surroundings, checking the situation.

He hadn’t forgotten that he was still in a dangerous blind spot.

"I’ve been in here four times already," Yserine replied. "The first two times, as long as I hid under the bed, it was safe, and there would be no issues. But these last two times, just hiding under the bed has been useless. Those black hands, they suddenly grab you when you’re not paying attention. And then..."

She paused, her expression fearful and pale.

"And then what?" Li Chengyi asked with a heavy tone.

"Then... as soon as you are touched, you disappear!" Yserine gestured as she struggled to explain.

"And just now, that black shadow, it never appeared before. This time it did, so the danger is likely even greater now..." she continued.

Li Chengyi was about to respond when he suddenly noticed the little girl’s gaze falling on the Golden Sword in his hand.

He picked up the Golden Sword, about to explain, but suddenly realized something was wrong.

"!?"

The entire front half of the Golden Sword Blade had completely vanished.

Starting from the middle of the blade, everything forward had disappeared without a trace.

Not only that, but the outer layer of the glove he was wearing, which was part of the armor, was also starting to appear faint and blurry.

"This is the power of those black hands... You can’t touch them. Otherwise, you will disappear just like the others before you," the little girl Yserine tried to explain.

"No touch at all?" Li Chengyi gazed at the Golden Sword, recalling his previously grabbed left hand.

"Is it certain that you will disappear once touched?" He asked.

"I personally saw three people. They were touched by the black hands and quickly disappeared completely. No one knows where they went," Yserine replied.

Seemingly sensing Li Chengyi’s demeanor, she now stuck close to him, not daring to leave his side by more than a meter.

"Disappeared without a trace..." Li Chengyi thought of his own left hand and felt a shiver run through him.

He guessed that his left hand hadn’t disappeared probably thanks to the Radiance Field.

"Ah!!"

As he was about to inspect the Golden Sword in his hand more closely, he suddenly heard another scream.

Yserine recoiled in horror and crawled behind a piece of broken wooden bed that was turned over.

Without thinking, Li Chengyi spun around, the Golden Sword emerging again in his hand.

This time, it was the widest, longest, and largest one.

It was the only Golden Sword in the Gladiolus Floral Dress that could shield most of his upper body when held horizontally.

The Golden Longsword, huge as a door panel, swung out suddenly behind him.

After turning around, he instantly saw the dark figure that had somehow entered the room and was quickly running toward him.

Upon closer inspection, he could barely discern some details from the individual’s body.

It was a small child, about one meter tall.

The face was a dreadful white as though smeared with a thick layer of makeup, indistinguishable as male or female.

The eyes were pitch-black, with blood-red circles around them that, even when staring calmly, gave off a faint sense of horror.

What was most important were their hands.

It was a pair of pitch-black hands, the same size as the ones Li Chengyi had seen before!

Thud!!

The huge door-like Golden Sword struck the child like a fan, fiercely.

Without a sound.

The child suddenly dispersed, shattered, turning into a puff of black smoke and disappearing into thin air.

Li Chengyi’s strike thus hit nothing, and the sword’s tip caught a desk, slicing it diagonally in two.

Clattering, objects from the desktop tumbled to the floor.

But by then, Li Chengyi had no time to care about these things.

The blade of the Golden Sword in his hand was quickly becoming blurry, faint, transparent in the middle.

And this blurriness was spreading toward the hilt.

Li Chengyi quickly let go and stepped back two paces, nearly bumping into Yserine and the bed plank behind him.

After he let go, the Golden Sword automatically disintegrated, turning into Golden Gladiolus Petals, fading away.

However, the part that had turned blurry did not disintegrate into petals but fell to the ground, becoming rapidly transparent.

In just a few seconds, that part of the blade completely vanished from sight, as if it had never existed.

The expression beneath Li Chengyi’s helmet was extremely grim.

He sensed that the largest Golden Sword from the Gladiolus Floral Dress was missing, damaged!

This thing could even blur and erase inanimate objects!

He glanced at the short Golden Sword in his other hand.

Indeed, that one had also lost part of its blade.

"This thing really can’t be touched at all..."

He had never encountered such a monster, one that caused everything about him to blur and disappear upon contact.

Even the Floral Dress couldn’t stop it.

Standing still, Li Chengyi made sure there was nothing else around, then slowly retreated until his back hit the wall, and he exhaled in relief.

He looked toward the window.

Outside the window was pitch black, devoid of anything, as if the smoke had completely shrouded the opening.

From this he knew he hadn’t yet escaped the blind spot.
