Chapter 110: 100 Acquisition Two_2

’If I could seamlessly integrate Drunken Hand with my finishers in close combat techniques, the effect would be absolutely explosive.’

Strengthening oneself steadfastly, Drunken Hand could prevent an opponent from escaping.

Radiance Field could speed up recovery during training.

Looking at it this way, the combination of these three Flower Language Techniques is quite suited for close combat training!

As Li Chengyi pondered, he endured the searing pain of the electric current under his feet.

An hour quickly passed.

His entire body bristled with hair, like a hedgehog, his facial skin tight and faintly pale.

Yu Long glanced at him and remarked that his physique was decent and didn’t need repair before sending the two of them out, arranging for a frequency of twice a week for the next session.

As Song Ran drove Li Chengyi back, she occasionally eyed him from time to time.

"Your physique really is good. The training of Dragon’s Whisker Strength is extremely arduous and dangerous, and none of those who have tried wanted to continue. Yet, you seem to be fine so quickly..."

"I don’t know why either, but I feel alright now; maybe I was just born with a good constitution." Li Chengyi said, running Radiance Field controlled to just skin proximity, feeling warm all over, as relaxed and comfortable as if he were soaking in a hot spring.

"It’s good that you feel fine, but remember, if you start feeling discomfort anywhere, you must speak up immediately. You can’t just tough it out!" Song Ran earnestly advised. "You know, the military used to have training mortality rates, and the training methods of Master Yu Long... were so severe that many died..."

"..." Li Chengyi was lost for words.

"But don’t worry, if you feel unwell, tell me right away. The preemptive biological repair package prepared by the boss is absolutely top-notch in the world, the same one used for Lien before. As long as we catch it in time, there will be no problem with the repair!" Song Ran gave a thumbs up.

"The boss is awesome!" Li Chengyi was visibly moved, knowing just from listening that all of it meant money.

"Keep it up." Song Ran wanted to say more but opened her mouth and ended up remaining silent.

Li Chengyi knew what she wanted to say; combat and skirmishes were, in fact, relics of the past in this era.

Years of arduous training were nothing compared to others who simply replaced a limb with a mechanical one.

No matter how strong your training, the power you can unleash has a limit set by your body.

But Reinforced Humans don’t have that problem; their limit is the maximum stress that the materials making up their body can take.

And that threshold is far beyond the natural human body.

Combat Technique, in this era, can only be supported by technology. As a standalone discipline, it has long been useless.

Li Chengyi wouldn’t have thought of learning it if he weren’t using the Floral Dress in close combat and lacking in fighting skills.

Essentially, he only considered Dragon’s Whisker Strength as an auxiliary tool for himself.

With this thought, he also sighed slightly.

For a while, neither of them spoke again.

On the way back, Li Chengyi stopped to have a clay pot rice halfway through the journey.

Then, according to the address, he went to one of the four supply pack homes.

Amidst a series of piercing screams, he satisfyingly harvested an Evil Thoughts pack.

The Titan Sunflower Evil Thoughts that were at 0% shot up to 62% in an instant.

Carrying a faint scent of blood, he hurried to the second evil pack, uh no, Evil Thoughts pack’s home.

Among a group of ambushed security officers, he forcefully broke in and effortlessly dispatched the second pack amidst their desperate and hateful gazes.

Evil Thoughts soared from the sixties to 100% in a flash.

Then, Li Chengyi, dodging a barrage of bullets, quickly retreated, completing an evolution process for the Titan Sunflower.

The Divine Flower Position opened up a new spot, and all other main flowers gained an additional chance for evolution.

And this was the prerequisite for the next step of absorbing Feilian.

Following that, he went to Yu Long twice a week for training, and afterward, he’d wander around the same area where he first entered the Silent Store.

Now that the Divine Flower Position was vacant, he was just waiting for the chance to enter the Blind Spot and absorb the new main flower.

September 17, 9:01 PM.

Li Chengyi checked his phone and strolled leisurely down the street where he had first entered the Silent Store.

The time was the same, and so was the scent.

This street was called by the locals as Scream Street, where every night, from eight in the evening until four in the morning, it was the realm of KTVs, bars, and BBQs.

Several venues on the street were some of Suiyang’s more famous underground haunts.

Now just past nine o’clock, Scream Street was bustling with people, all of them fashionably dressed youth going to and fro.

Men and women mingled, their various perfume fragrances mixing with the scent of BBQ, faintly intermingled with the smell of alcohol, forming a unique and bizarre aroma specific to Scream Street.

Li Chengyi had changed into an outfit that would blend in with the vibe.

A gray-green shirt, earth-colored mid-length shorts, white socks, white sneakers, hair neatly combed and fixed with styling water, topped off with AR glasses and an upper body that could now be considered robust.

He even exuded a hint of refined poise.

He didn’t really know how to dress up; this outfit was based on suggestions from Pencil Eyebrow. So he just went ahead and bought it.

Regrettably, after pacing up and down Scream Street three times, the memory flash he was waiting for didn’t happen.

Bored with walking, Li Chengyi grew thirsty and took a seat at a juice shop’s outdoor chairs, ordering a drink via a QR code scan.

The shop had laid out seven or eight chairs, enclosed within a rectangle by a black fence, right next to the street.

To the right of where Li Chengyi was seated was an old-fashioned trinket store.

The store’s front was decorated like a woodland cottage, complete with fake wooden textures on the main door, with bundles of straw and wooden stools and tubs placed around it.

On the wall beside the door hung a large stag head, embellished with a crooked, yellowing page of a foreign old newspaper.

Looking through the glass shop window, one could see numerous wooden puppets, children’s toys, wooden clocks, worn old rocking horses, small circus tents, and even a skeleton dressed as a pirate captain.

While waiting for his drink order, Li Chengyi casually observed the somewhat quaint store.

Ting-a-ling.

Suddenly, the store’s door was pushed open from inside, and an old man walked out slowly.

He carried a cane in his hand, dressed in white slacks and a shirt, with a thin V-neck sweater over it, his face genial, wearing round glasses, and a child had stuck a gemstone sticker on his sleeve cuff.

Stepping out, the old man propped himself up with his cane, carefully removed the sticker from his sleeve, stored it away, then donned a small round hat, pulled out one of the chairs from the juice shop, and slowly took a seat.

"This place is really nice, quiet, and peaceful," the old man sighed, his brown eyes naturally settling on Li Chengyi.

"Hongjin’s Li Chengyi?" he asked softly.

"Who are you?" Li Chengyi asked, slightly surprised, not expecting that merely sitting down might lead to an encounter with someone who recognized him.

"Seems I haven’t got the wrong person," the old man smiled, "Your company, the one that comes from White Star, Xindela, he’s an ambitious man. Did quite a few impressive things before."

"Who are you?" Li Chengyi asked, squinting slightly, unclear on the man’s intent.

"Ah, my surname is Bai. I’m looking for someone from your company because of an incident. I found out that you have the closest relationship with that person, so I came to see you," the old man explained with a smile.

"Closest relationship with me? Go ahead, maybe I can help you," Li Chengyi thought quickly, flicking through names in his mind.

"I don’t know his name, but he’s done some very good deeds lately. Although misguided, it’s clear that he’s an energetic, good kid, and I wanted to meet him through you," the old man answered in a relaxed tone.
