Chapter 68: Chapter 68 - Back together
Zion, alongside the women of his family, was flying down the massive hole he had caused, seeing everything that was going on down there.
"In all seriousness, how was this hole created? I have never seen a spell of this caliber before." Ignis asked, which also sparked the other’s interest.
"I positioned a satellite in outer space that has a super weapon attached to it and fired it at this spot."
All four of them exchanged confused glances.
"What’s outer space?" They asked.
"Heh, primitave world." Zion chuckled. "I’ll show you all later."
After a few minutes, Zion saw a subtle light flash in and out in the distance.
"Huh?"
[Enhancing field of vision] Tessa spoke as nanoparticles materialized on Zion’s face, zooming in on the light.
"LIDIA!" Zion equipped his suit and put everything into his booster rockets, flying as fast as he could to reach his beloved.
Before he could even hug her, she yelled.
"ALICE IS DOWN THERE!"
Zion looked at his mother. "Mom!"
Zaleena broke the sound barrier in an instant, reaching the bottom in a few seconds. She saw a man holding two women in his arms with a black portal beneath his feet.
Chuck turned around to see Zaleena land behind him. Since his face was obscured, Zaleena couldn’t see his expression, but the amount of fear Chuck felt when he laid eyes on her almost made his body collapse instantly.
"Stop right there!" She quickly drew her sword, slicing the space between them in an instant, but unfortunately, the portal was faster, sucking the three of them into it before Zalaeena’s attack could land.
"Dammit!"
Once she returned to the group, she informed them about what happened, which made Zion and Lidia a bit sad, but that sadness was short-lived since they were now back together. He held her in his arms as they flew back to the surface, allowing Lidia to breathe fresh air for the first time in two weeks.
Zion and Lidia wasted no time, embracing each other with a passionate kiss and a tight hug. She couldn’t keep her hands off him, missing the feeling of his body, missing the way he touched her, missing the way he tasted. She missed him more than anything.
Zion, too, couldn’t keep his hands off of her. Sure, he was pleased back at home, but the emptiness he felt with Lidia’s disappearance was now filled, making him whole again.
Once they finally calmed down, Lidia rested her face on his chest, slightly crying with happiness as she was able to be with Zion again. "I missed you so much."
"I missed you, too. I won’t let this ever happen again, I promise!"
"Awww, look at them, so cute." Hanna teased.
"I’m glad you’re okay, Lidia." Ignis smiled, seeing her niece being held by Zion
"It’s nice to see you, too, Auntie. I bet Dad is going crazy looking for me."
"Ha, you should see the number of letters he sent me, asking to know if I found anything about your whereabouts. Speaking of that, you should return home and ease your father’s mind."
"I agree." Ignis nodded.
"Okay, I’ll come over in a few days then." Lidia kissed Zion once more, then left with her aunt.
Zion sighed in relief, "I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders."
"I bet, but your other friend is still missing." Reina pointed out.
"Yeah, I know, that still sucks. But still, knowing that Lidia is back means I can sleep easily again."
"Honestly, you handled this situation well. I expected you to crash out and go crazy." Hanna said as she punched Zion’s arm.
"At first, I was, but Aurora and Lacey calmed me down. Plus, I have a little Lidia on my shoulders telling me to keep calm and think rationally. However, I had to make sure I stayed away from Ginger. That woman would have fed into my craziness, making me do something I would regret.
Zaleena hugged her son. "Haha, possibly. You go home now. I’ll contact the Royal Army to come back here to investigate this alongside the other factions."
"I’ll help." Reina offered
"I’m going home, see ya!" Hanna grabbed Zion and took off.

"Arghhh! Hnnnnnn!! Fuck!!" Kristy cried in pain as her body healed from the injuries she suffered.
"Everything will be over soon, just hang on a bit longer," Chuck advised as he performed a spell that regenerated the damaged part of Kristy’s body.
She could feel everything, muscles regrowing, veins reattaching, bones breaking down just to build themselves back up to reforge her arms, legs, and ribs.
"Wha-" She swallowed hard, feeling the iron in her blood flow down her throat as she grunted in pain. "What the hell was that?! What kind of power was that?"
"I don’t know. Rumors say it was a dragon."
"B-Bullshit! No dragon would randomly appear in Midgard and attack a random spot which just so happened to be our base of operations!" Kristy stuttered slightly
"She’s correct." Adam agreed, walking into the room they were in, his hands folded behind his back.
"Sir." Chuck nodded. "Do you know what that power was?"
"No, I don’t. What I do know is that Carl has died and Blair was taken to prison after her mana paths were destroyed. One thing is for certain, though: Zion Zagan was behind that attack."
"Zion Zagan! ZION ZAGAN! It’s always him! He’s always getting in the way of everything! Getting the map, killing Olzak, the dungeon, and now this! We need to kill him! We need to kill him right now!" Kristy yelled, getting up as her body finished healing.
"Calm down. Attacking him will do nothing for us. I recently learned that both his mother and aunt broke through to the Transcendent stage, and both of his sisters are now in the Ascendent stage. The people around him are too powerful."
"Fuck! What should we do now, then?"
Adam shook his head. "Nothing. We’ll remain in the shadows, won’t capture any more people, and continue our experiments. It’s unfortunate that four test subjects left our grasp, but we still have four to work with, which is more than enough. Finish your experiments, we’ll continue to build our forces and strength while keeping a low profile."
"Yes, sir."
