Chapter 115: Chapter 115 - Royal Palace

The destruction caused by the demons was catastrophic, to say the least. The coliseum where the tournament took place was completely leveled, buildings which included houses, stores, and warehouses were all destroyed, and people were left homeless, jobless, and now out of business.

"Damn, this shit is insane. I already know the reconstruction effort will cost an arm and a leg."

[I’m sure it will cost more than an arm and a leg.]

’You know what I mean!’

[Hehe]

"E-Excuse me, sir? Do you have any food?" A little girl asked, her body dirty and stomach growling.

Zion looked around her and spotted 9 more kids looking from afar, seeing if he would give them food or not.

"All of you come out, I’ve got food for everyone." He said with a smile.

All of the kids rushed out after hearing that he would feed them and looked at him with puppy dog eyes.

’Ugh, so cute. Maybe I wanna have kids right now!’ He said in his head, pulling out dried meat, bread, and water from his storage ring and handing them to each child.

"Thank you, mister!" They all thanked him in unison.

"No problem. Oh, and eat it right here." He didn’t want some angry fucker to come along and beat these kids for food.

After they finished, he waved them off and continued walking to the palace.

"Come." He said, and one of his people came out of his shadow.

"You called, master?"

"Get started on rebuilding and help the homeless. Make sure it’s all in Crystal’s name as well. Tell the others." He ordered.

"As you wish." They vanished from the spot.

---

"Halt! State your purpose!" A guard asked Zion as he approached the castle gates.

"My name is Zion Zagan, and I’m here to meet a friend." He said.

"Oh! My apologies! Please forgive us for stopping you." The other guard asked.

"No worries, you’re just doing your job."

"Thank you for understanding." The guards sighed with relief.

Inside, Zion was greeted by a butler who asked what he was there for. After stating his name and purpose, he nodded and led Zion to Crystal’s room.

"Your highness? Are you awake? You have a guest." The butler announced, knocking on the door.

"Charles, is that you? Who is trying to meet me so early in the morning?" Crystal asked, waking up from her slumber.

"I am," Zion announced his presence

"Zion?! Come in!" Realizing that it was him, her whole demeanor changed. Her voice was now filled with energy.

The butler bowed, walking away, then Zion entered her room.

"What are you doing here?" She asked, still underneath her covers.

Zion smiled, looking around her room before sitting on her bed.

"I’m here to help you build your influence." He said, lying down next to her.

She furrowed her brows. "I’m already doing what you told me to do, and I’m training harder than ever."

"Did you tell your family that you’re not aiming for the throne anymore?" He asked

"I did. I was even forced to sign a magical contract using my blood to ensure that I don’t change my mind later. I quite literally can’t aspire to the throne anymore." She informed him.

"That’s good." He nodded his head.

"How? I still want the throne! Now we have to work harder than before."

He slapped her on the back of the head. "Are you stupid? You don’t have to do anything. All you need to do is look pretty, get strong, and have everyone love you. Also, see if you can join the magic tower or something, that way, it will really seem like you’re moving away from trying to be the Queen."

"You didn’t have to hit me." She mumbled under her breath, rubbing her head.

"In the meantime, use the kingdom’s current situation to boost your influence. I’ve already started working towards that, having my people use your name when they rebuild and feed the hungry. Now, I need you out there helping them as well, showing them that you’re a hands-on Royal who can work alongside the common people and is doing her best to rebuild the kingdom."

"I’ve already made preparations for that. I’m not dumb, Zion."

"You keep believing that."

"Asshole."

"Well, anyway, I’ll be gone for a while, probably a year, so you won’t see me for a bit. I’ll keep you updated. Since all of your personal servants were replaced with my people, communication will be easier, and you don’t have to worry about being watched."

"So it’s true that you’re a divine apostle?" She asked curiously.

"That’s right." He showed his holy power

"Amazing."

"Well, that’s all I wanted to tell you. If you do your part well, this kingdom is as good as yours."

"Trust me, I won’t be the same Crystal you know once you see me again." She smiled, getting out of bed and stretching her body. She wore a blue negligee that showed off her figure well.

Zion nodded, appreciating her body. "Oh, right, that reminds me." He grabbed her by the waist and pulled her in close. Lifting up her chin, he kissed her on the lips."

"You’re my woman now." He whispered in her ear before leaving her room.

Crystal stood there in shock and couldn’t believe what Zion had just done to her.

"M-My first kiss." She blushed, clutching her face.

---

Zion walked down the hallway toward the staircase that descended to the lower floors, his footsteps echoing softly against the stone. Ornate paintings lined both walls, each masterpiece bursting with color and character, no two alike, each one telling its own extravagant tale.

Once he turned the corner, a woman with brown hair was standing there, leaning against the wall as if she were waiting for him.

"Hello Zion, it’s been a while." She greeted him, her smile as beautiful as her appearance.

Sighing, Zion also smiled, knowing what was about to happen. "Nice to see you again, Amber."
