Chapter 509: The Unlimited Blade Works

Carrie quickly retreated, curling up in the corner of the stone cave, shutting down all senses of her body.

This kid is simply seeking death.

The adventurers who came here only coveted the value of the Dark Demon Scripture. In the past three hundred years, the number of people who have opened this book can be counted on one hand, and without exception, all were completely annihilated.

During the Demon Clan and Undead Clan occupation period of the Eternal Sect, Carrie, who was assigned to guard the Dark Demon Scripture, naturally knew what this thing was.

Not all demons have encountered a Demon God, just as mortals cannot meet the Emperor.

For Haywood, he had never seen an existence as great and boundless as Da Gun. The highest level of demon he had encountered was merely his soldier leader.

Carrie was the same. To her, the Demon God existed only in passed-down tales and distant, untouchable stories.

The Thirteen Holy Spirits, the Holy True God, the Dragon Lord... they never cared about the world.

The same was true for the Demon God.

Impossible to communicate, impossible to contact.

This book’s existence far exceeds a mere three hundred years.

Madman Mages of the Ancient Era sought transcendental power and were obsessed with summoning the Demon God. After conducting their communication rituals, they contacted those terrifying entities of the Annihilation Domain and wrote these terrifying spellbooks before being ascended or perishing.

These books, which connect to the Annihilation Domain or can contact the Demon God, hold immense power and are collectively known as the Dark Demon Scripture.

The words recorded in the book are spells of Great Power, far beyond human comprehension.

During the Demon occupation period of the Eternal Sect, the Judgement Court received word that Mulong had unearthed a spellbook written by an Ancient Era Mage, and the Sect immediately ordered its retrieval, dispatching numerous demons.

Carrie was one of them. The recovery team, driven by greed, unveiled a corner of the Dark Demon Scripture. Only Carrie, who had shut down all her senses, survived, though she was extremely weakened and trapped here. She could only guard the spellbook and wait for the Sect to send more people, but they would repeat the same mistakes.

They had all come from nine hundred years ago when the Heavenly Sphere converged. Taking advantage of the weakened barriers, they accidentally entered the Western Continent through the otherworldly gate. They did not belong to any army but gathered by themselves under the Eternal Sect.

The Dragon Lord never revealed itself. Throughout its long history, the Eternal Sect had two aspects.

During the human period, they worshipped the Eternal and Time Dragon.

During the demon period, they worshipped "Primordial Darkness," known in the Western Continent as the First Dead, the Inextinguishable Will, the source of most undead beings in the Chaos Dimension, Annihilation Domain, and Outer Realm. His remains turned into all evil forces.

Except for Da Gun and a few other Demon Gods who formed armies or nurtured relatives, the other Demon Gods had no interest in creation, engrossed in pursuits beyond mortal understanding.

All naturally existing void and undead beings often believed their ancestors had merged with the Primordial Darkness.

Carrie knew which Demon God the Ancient Era Mage who wrote the Dark Demon Scripture had summoned.

It was the Bloodthirsty Empress Demon God, Calirabos, a Demon God of pleasure, debauchery, lust, gluttony, and ultimate cruelty. Its annihilation domains, which it created and ruled, were primarily for amusement. Other uses were unknown.

Like Da Gun, Helcin, and Marakes, Calirabos was one of the few Demon Gods who nurtured relatives.

During the demon period of the Eternal Sect, Carrie was considered by the Sect’s high echelons to be a demon connected to Calirabos, so she was sent here.

But it was obvious, gods do not care.

Carrie did not know what happened to the man now, only that she had completely shut herself off.

The moment Mika opened the Dark Demon Scripture, an extremely dazzling ghostly green light burst forth like a green sun shattering, overshadowing the blazing sun above the great chasm.

Mika couldn’t see what was recorded in it as his eyes were nearly blinded by the intense light.

He never thought such a bizarre thing would happen to him. He felt a massive hand with supreme power crush him into a speck of dust, tearing his body apart, then absorbing him into the book.

It felt like a tremendous force was propelling him through a channel to an unknown place.

Historical events flashed by as blurry illusions above, below, and on either side, as if returning to the past. God’s power pierced through dimensions, detaching from time.

He even saw people who had been absorbed into the Dark Demon Scripture before him, past adventurers. They were still alive! Not dead yet!

But they were completely lost in eternal torment, in the strong desire to summon the Demon God transmitted by this book and its contents, in some form of supreme trial, driven to madness.

Screaming for Mika to save them, but Mika’s spiritual power seemed to far surpass these people, continuing to traverse further into the distant past, seeing the Priest who arrived here three hundred years ago. That Priest was also a demon, but this terrifying Dark Demon Scripture had completely consumed him as well.

He was tormented for centuries within instruments of pleasure, blood tears flowing like rivers, as if his soul was painfully expelled, all beauty annihilated, turning into sacrificial offerings spanning ancient and modern times.

Mika, too, was to become this book’s spiritual food, eternally trapped in the sinful path of pilgrimage to Calirabos.

"Fuck you! Fuck!"

Mika roared. In his haze, it seemed he saw countless windows, gusts of fear frequently sweeping through, layers peeling off his skull, layering upon his brain’s depths. It was like the Panlos steps, infinite cycles of gluttony, sloth, and cruel execution.

In a wondrously hazy experience, the instruments of torture’s pain connected with the madness of the dark summoning ritual, performed as a useless grand show to attract the Demon God’s attention.

This was an Ancient Era madman’s ritual to communicate with the Demon God, too frenzied and violent.

The illusionary realm drove this East Sea Desperado’s fury to its limit.

The downsides were laid bare.

What about the benefits?

Connection was also part of the trial. So it was settled.

By now, Mika’s mind had collapsed, completely losing self-awareness, living through the days in an endless subconscious daze.

With the Immortal Emperor’s blood combating all trials, connecting to the Dao Embryo instinctively resisting the mad pilgrimage.

Under years of self-made drugs, this place was also some consciousness channel to an Annihilation Domain.

His body was the Piling Holy Body, iron for flesh, fire for blood, a bloody tide of iron.

More than ten thousand had connected, undefeated across countless battlefields, never tasting defeat.

Accompanied by constant pain, he waited for Hou Yiren.

Here, alone, he forged his sword upon countless brothels, without regret, as this was his only return path.

So, this life needed no meaning.

This life was for the creation of the Infinite Sword.

This life was defined by the forging of the Infinite Sword.

A drop of water could fill the sea, a Barrett could cleave the sun, moon, and stars, overturning heaven and earth in between.

The world may whore, but I shall be the patron.

Anything living, even gods, I’ll fuck you all!

More historical events wilded around, Mika instantaneous traversed back three hundred, five hundred, nine hundred years, and even further, seeing more who called to Calirabos through this Dark Demon Scripture on the path of pilgrimage.

But Mika was already a mindless, rampant beast, killing with pure instinct.

On the reverse river, tens of thousands of immortals retreated; love cannot rival cold and hot water.

Destined to be defeated by fate; a virgin regrets, but I hold no regret.

Sword! Come!

Finally, at what seemed the end of the summoning ritual that spanned thousands of years, even the compiler of this book, the Ancient Era madman mage, was kneeling there.

Mika had entered Calirabos’s Annihilation Domain.
