Chapter 93: Chapter 89: A Bit of Strong Qi
"This mage didn’t want to get involved in worldly affairs, but I couldn’t disobey my master’s orders. If you want to find Imperial Censor Xiao, you must first get past me!"
"Very well, Mage, forgive my offense!"
Zuo Qianhu immediately wielded his Tang Sword and attacked Yiye Zhiqiu.
"Unsheathe!"
Yiye Zhiqiu’s sword flew out from behind him, clashing with Zuo Qianhu in the great hall.
What a fierce battle. Although Yiye Zhiqiu was often whimsical on normal days, his Kunlun Swordsmanship was exceptional. He gained the upper hand as soon as he crossed swords with Zuo Qianhu.
"Bull-nosed Taoist, don’t force me!"
Zuo Qianhu held back intentionally because Emperor Li Gai was obsessed with Taoism, and he dared not offend the Taoists of the Three Auxiliaries of Chang’an, but Yiye Zhiqiu was ruthless and relentless, which angered Zuo Qianhu instantly.
"Then you can’t blame me!"
Zuo Qianhu immediately displayed his true skills and tactics, his right hand wielding the Tang Sword with bursting power, his left hand whipping a long whip like a dragon, and behind him, five Mo Dao swords flew out, cornering Yiye Zhiqiu.
The two fought intensely, oblivious to anything else, shattering everything inside the hall into pieces. In just a moment, debris flew everywhere, and dust billowed, obscuring both figures.
"Zuo Qianhu, fight fair if you dare, no whips!"
Amidst the dust, Yiye Zhiqiu cried out as his sword was entangled by Zuo Qianhu’s whip. While the two struggled, Zuo Qianhu attacked with his Tang Sword. Yiye Zhiqiu’s right hand was bound and his left unarmed, putting him at a disadvantage.
"Are you a spider spirit? Why use so many weapons?"
Seeing that the situation was dire, Yiye Zhiqiu immediately abandoned the sword in his right hand and retreated towards Li Ping’an, Xiao Wangba, and the Xiao Family Sisters.
"Elder, what should I do? I can’t beat him with martial arts!"
"You fool! If you can’t beat him with martial arts, use a spell! Do I have to teach you that?"
Li Ping’an reminded him helplessly.
"Immobilization Spell!"
Yiye Zhiqiu immediately spit on his palm, then quickly drew a binding talisman. Before Zuo Qianhu could take his life, Yiye Zhiqiu slapped it onto everything in front of him.
Suddenly, whether it was Zuo Qianhu, his subordinates, the members of the Xiao Family, or the birds outside, all were frozen still as if they were sculptures.
"Yiye Zhiqiu is so amazing! We’re saved!"
The Xiao Family Sisters clenched their fists and cheered excitedly.
"Pretending to be a martial arts expert. If you had used this technique earlier, would you have sweated so much? Seriously..."
Li Ping’an gave Yiye Zhiqiu a disdainful look.
"Trickery!"
A bizarre scene occurred—despite being hit by the Immobilization Spell, Zuo Qianhu showed no effects and continued attacking the delighted Yiye Zhiqiu.
Luckily, Yiye Zhiqiu reacted quickly, or he would certainly have been killed by the slash!
"How is this possible? The Immobilization Spell didn’t work on him?"
After dodging the deadly strike and stabilizing himself, Yiye Zhiqiu was shocked as he looked at Zuo Qianhu and then at his own right hand, puzzled.
"Strange!"
This turn of events nearly threw the watching Li Ping’an behind the wall into complete turmoil:
"Secluded Cave!"
Only then did Li Ping’an see clearly what was happening. It turned out that Zuo Qianhu, with his unwavering military duty and the righteous spirit of self-sacrifice deep in his heart, was not affected by the immobilization spell or any spirit-based spells.
"Senior, what should we do? My immobilization spell isn’t working!"
Yiye Zhiqiu, facing this situation for the first time, panicked and had no choice but to seek help again from the outsider expert, Li Ping’an.
"If your immobilization spell isn’t working, use another spell! Why ask me everything? Otherwise, I’ll fight for you!"
Reminded by Li Ping’an, Yiye Zhiqiu clenched his teeth and, after composing his shocked emotions, calmly handled the situation!
"Wind - Ghost Banishing and Demon Exorcising Order!"
From Yiye Zhiqiu’s sleeves flew two talisman papers, which, under the control of his thoughts, immediately turned into a thousand paper cranes and flew towards Zuo Qianhu. No matter where Zuo Qianhu hid, the paper cranes, as if locked onto him, followed him like a shadow.
"If I can’t escape it, then slash!"
Seeing no escape and facing two paper cranes, Zuo Qianhu, underestimating them, raised his sword to strike them down, only for his Tang sword to explode as soon as it neared the paper cranes.
With a blast, Zuo Qianhu, along with his sword, was blown out of the hall, rolling to the ground. He slowly got up, and his beard, eyebrows, and some hair were singed—his face covered in ash and utterly disheveled.
Fortunately, Zuo Qianhu carried multiple weapons with him and pulled out another Mo Dao from behind, fearlessly charging at Yiye Zhiqiu.
"Still coming? Well, I can’t blame myself then!"
Yiye Zhiqiu was skilled, but his nature was kind, and he had a line he did not cross when casting spells—only against demons. Thus, he had not used his killer moves before. But now, seeing Zuo Qianhu’s unstoppable courage, he had no choice but to break his vow to kill!
"Fire - Heavenly Gang’s Five Dispersing Fires!"
Yiye Zhiqiu followed the procedure; talismans flew and attached to his palms while he chanted the curses. His palms then burst out with intense flames, twice as bigger than those used against the deceitful Xiao Family members, and even from several meters away, Zuo Qianhu could feel the scorching heat, causing his sweat to stream down.
"Gang Wind!"
Facing such divine skills, Zuo Qianhu showed no fear. He stepped forward, drew another sword with his left hand, and his hands flew like lightning. The double swords seemed to hide sword energy, creating a slicing gang wind that blew away the incoming flames.
"A worthy opponent!"
Seeing this, Yiye Zhiqiu couldn’t help but exclaim, admiring Zuo Qianhu’s ability to resist a cultivator’s spells in his physical state, a rare talent in this world. He felt admiration and found himself hesitating, unsure whether to use another, more powerful spell to kill him!
"This trash, a Taoist Cultivator from the Taoist sect actually can’t defeat a mere warrior, go eat shit!"
Li Ping’an immediately remembered what his master, Zixia, had told him when he first entered the world of "Black Myth: The Fated One". At the same realm, the upper three – Taoist Cultivators, Buddhist Cultivators, and Literati Cultivation – are two levels above the leader of the Lower Nine Streams, Martial Cultivators, and three levels above demon cultivation. In other words, Yiye Zhiqiu’s Taoist cultivation in the Clay Figure Realm was two levels higher than Zuo Qianhu’s Martial Cultivator’s Steel Realm.
In any other situation, a cultivator fighting a warrior would have an absolute advantage, easily defeating the opponent.
But in this case, whether Yiye Zhiqiu was still holding back, being overly incompetent, or Zuo Qianhu was a Martial Cultivator genius, there was no way Zuo Qianhu would have managed to fight equally across realms.
"If Yiye Zhiqiu runs out of mana, then I will have to intervene. Well, well, well, to avoid facing Zuo Qianhu directly, I guess I’ll have to be the Old Sixth."
Thinking of diverting Zuo Qianhu’s attention, Li Ping’an then shouted to the outside:
"Zuo Qianhu, if you dare, kill this smelly Taoist!"
"Senior, whose side are you on?"
Yiye Zhiqiu, puzzled, turned his head to look back, and at that moment, Zuo Qianhu seized the opportunity:
"You think I wouldn’t dare?"
Zuo Qianhu’s hand grew more intense with the sword’s intent, the gang winds fiercer, focusing more on killing Yiye Zhiqiu.
