Chapter 172 - 156: Too Foolish, Fell for My Trap!

Chapter 172: Chapter 156: Too Foolish, Fell for My Trap!

If I don’t kill Li Ping’an, I just can’t stand his foul mouth that seems like he’s eaten shit, truly a dilemma. So I turned to the four Night Travelers for help.

Seeing the relationship with Xie Wenren as fellow Taoist Cultivators, the four Night Travelers simultaneously looked at Li Ping’an and commanded:

"Young man, don’t disturb their fight to the death with your loud noises! Otherwise, we won’t be polite!"

"Yes, yes, yes!"

Li Ping’an hurriedly pretended to cover his mouth.

"Hurry up! Time’s almost up!"

After the Night Travelers reminded them, Xie Wenren glared hatefully at Li Ping’an, then tried his best to calm down, forcing himself to forget the mockery and insults just now. After half of his anger had subsided, he raised his sword and charged toward Mahaparinirvana.

"Aiya! That was totally accidental!"

Just as Xie Wenren was gathering his spirit for the battle with Mahaparinirvana, he had yet to step forward with his right leg when his face was splashed with the wine from Li Ping’an’s cup, an utterly disgraceful sight.

"You beast! When will you have had enough, huh?"

Xie Wenren, completely infuriated by Li Ping’an’s provocations, cursed ferociously with his sword raised and his face devoid of any dignity.

"Oops, my apologies, I forgot you’re the waste from the Flame Cloud Sect. You just said you’re in the top three in defense in the Flame Cloud Sect, so does that mean you rank in the bottom three when it comes to fighting? Hahaha!"

Hit where it hurt, Xie Wenren was left speechless, shaking all over and unable to utter a word.

"Seeing your reaction, I must’ve hit the nail on the head. Forget it, forget it. Watching you dishonor the Flame Cloud Sect here, it’s better for me to go back and have a few more drinks. I’ll go enjoy myself; you keep on disgracing yourself slowly, hahaha!"

After ridiculing and shaming Xie Wenren, Li Ping’an made a contemptuous grimace at him, then turned and walked away nonchalantly.

Seeing Li Ping’an’s infuriating demeanor, Xie Wenren finally couldn’t hold back. Drowned in a sea of rage and devoid of all reason, he blurted out that recklessly arrogant sentence:

"You scoundrel! If you dare, don’t leave!"

Lie Ping’an immediately stopped in his tracks, and said with scorn:

"What? You’re not seriously thinking of fighting me, are you? Are you out of your mind? If you die, wouldn’t your Taoist master-mother be heartbroken? What if she takes it out on me afterwards?"

After saying this, Li Ping’an was extremely nervous, praying fervently for the prideful Xie Wenren to take the bait.

"That’s right! I’m going to fight you today and then use your tongue for a drink! If you dare, come at me!"

Xie Wenren spoke another line he shouldn’t have, while Li Ping’an, successful in his ploy, was overjoyed:

This witless fool has fallen right into my trap! Hahaha!

"Xie Wenren, you said it yourself! I didn’t force you, oh!"

Li Ping’an immediately turned back and stepped outside the designated fighting area once again, continuing his provocation:

"But you can still back out now if you want, otherwise it’s going to be ugly for you when you lose!"

"Ah!"

Xie Wenren, incessantly mocked by Li Ping’an, was so frustrated and irate that he could only bellow out loudly, his eyes bulging and cursing with heavy breaths:

"You little fiend, stop taking my lines, come here and meet your fate!"

"..."

Li Ping’an just sneered without responding to Xie Wenren; instead, he looked up to the four Night Travelers hovering in mid-air and inquired:

"Two against one, is this permissible?"

"This..."

The four Night Travelers seemed to be facing such a situation for the first time. After a pause, they replied:

"It’s not impossible, as long as both parties agree!"

Yet, Mahaparinirvana, the Monk Who Broke Precepts, wasn’t the type who liked to bully the weak and outnumber the powerless. Seeing the four Night Travelers agree, he immediately looked at Li Ping’an and asked:

"Younger brother, what exactly do you mean..."

"Brother, don’t speak. I have my own plan!"

Li Ping’an’s gaze was resolute as he looked at Mahaparinirvana and signaled him to stay silent and follow his lead.

"I don’t mind teaching a lesson to this trash from the Flame Cloud Sect, I’m just worried he’ll be too scared to accept!"

"You little bastard! Don’t provoke me!"

Xie Wenren was infuriated by Li Ping’an’s sharp tongue, trembling with rage and wishing he could kill Li Ping’an right there to vent his anger:

"I am certainly willing. Get in here quick! I want to kill you, you sharp-tongued little bastard, first!"

"Hahahaha! You fool, you’re like a dung beetle trying to mount the tail of a whip—relying on false bravado, oblivious to death hovering before you!"

Li Ping’an never expected Immortal Xie, a Taoist Cultivator, to be so simpleminded, which in harsher terms means stupid. However, this made things easier for Li Ping’an.

"Wait a moment, there’s something we need to make clear first!"

"Spit it out! I can’t wait to cut out your tongue!"

Li Ping’an smirked slyly:

"I just want to know why you and I are fighting?"

"Obviously because you, this little bastard, have a loose tongue and keep heaping insults on yourself, seeking your own death! Do you even need to ask?"

Xie Wenren replied without thinking.

"So that means, our fight to the death has nothing to do with anything else, right? It’s just because I look down on you and insult you relentlessly, correct?"

"Let me be clear, I’m just a nobody without a sect, and if I happen to defeat you, you can’t use the might of your Flame Cloud Sect to oppress me. Don’t let it be that your sect wants vengeance on me because you lost face!"

Everything was proceeding according to Li Ping’an’s plan. Despite feeling extremely excited inside, he suppressed his emotions, eagerly waiting for Xie Wenren’s next words.

To Li Ping’an’s great delight, he unintentionally received a "divine assist" as the onlookers, the ruffians and Idle Followers on both sides of the street, promptly interjected:

"Immortal Xie, this is the same jerk who talked back to Young Master Cen before. Just look at how he talks and acts; he’s clearly an inexperienced rich young master!"

Xie Wenren initially thought Li Ping’an was either a Taoist Cultivator or some other kind of expert to dare insult him, an Esteemed Master of the Taoist sect. He had thought about using a spell to probe Li Ping’an’s cultivation, but after hearing the clues from the crowd, he looked even more disdainful but seethed with rage inside:

Damn it! It’s bad enough that I, Xie Wenren, get pushed around by my fellow sect members, but now even a mere mortal dares insult me!

I’ll kill them all!

"If I can’t defeat a mere mortal like you, you don’t need to say anything, our Flame Cloud Sect will disown me and expel me from the sect!"

Xie Wenren, completely unaware that he had fallen into the trap Li Ping’an had dug, still didn’t take Li Ping’an, the "rich young master," seriously. Instead, he was planning against Li Ping’an, who was actually an Earth Immortal!

He knew it was impossible to defeat Mahaparinirvana today, but killing the bastard who had confronted Young Official Cen would at least salvage some face and not make the trip entirely fruitless.
