Chapter 132: Chapter 128 No Place for Cultivation

"The ’Dao’ is the core belief, formless and without image, yet it gives birth to heaven and earth, the origin of the universe, while ’Fa’ is a means employed by Taoism to save the world and guide the people."

Li Ping’an now had his own Dao and his own Fa, hence he mastered the four fundamental elements of Fa.

When it comes to wealth, there is internal and external wealth; external wealth refers to the financial resources needed for cultivation. As the saying goes, "no wealth, no support for the Dao," and it is difficult for the cultivation process in Taoism to proceed without the support of material wealth.

Li Ping’an currently possessed external wealth. Even if he spent the one million one hundred and fifty thousand he had on hand, he could still earn more or ask Yuan Furong for it, since his girlfriend was a superstar with plenty of money.

Internal wealth refers to the cultivator’s own assets, what is called "immortal fate." As it’s said, "Dew does not moisten rootless grass; the grand Dao does not ferry those without fate." Not everyone is suited for cultivation.

Although Li Ping’an could not be considered extraordinarily talented, he definitely had deep immortal fate. He had already crossed the threshold of immortal cultivation and his cultivation was on the verge of reaching the lower four realms of immortal cultivation: Qi Gathering, Clayey Bricks, Guxuan, and the Mysterious Heart (Dragon Gate)—the realm of the mysterious heart. Therefore, he possessed the four fundamental elements of wealth.

’So-lu,’ ’lu’ refers to like-minded fellow Taoists encountered in the process of cultivation, also known as cultivation companions. To cultivate his own Dao, Li Ping’an needed to break free from the desires of the flesh and cut off the Six Roots, under the premise of first experiencing desire in order to sever it.

Cultivation is about essence, qi, and spirit. The Taoist Scriptures say that as long as a cultivator maintains a state of desirelessness and asking for nothing, and the body and mind enter tranquility, then one will achieve the state of ’Three Flowers Gathering at the Top, Five Qi Facing the Origin.’

The greatest fear during cultivation is disturbances from the outside world. If one cultivates alone and encounters such a situation, it’s easy to become ’possessed by the devil,’ which makes having a protective cultivation companion by one’s side extremely important.

Of course, there are some heretical practices that believe a companion is the female partner for dual cultivation, requiring virginal women in the prime of their youth, with rosy lips and white teeth, clear brows and beautiful eyes, where the inner core primarily comes from the intercourse of men and women, the man absorbing the woman’s yin energy like grafting a tender sprout, to prolong one’s own life.

In the world of ’Black Myth: The Fated One,’ Li Ping’an had Zixia, the Xiao Family Sisters; and in the real world, Yuan Furong, Wanyan Mengwen. If he brought them along for cultivation, they would doubtlessly plead to agree, thus he also possessed the four fundamental elements of companionship.

The so-called ’place’ refers to the location required for cultivation. The external environment is hugely important, and Taoism believes that different environments lead to different cultivation realms.

The Taoist Scripture ’The Sutra of the Cause of Becoming a Monk’ classifies Taoists into seven ranks: Innocence, Immortal, Reclusion, Mountain Dwelling, Monasticism, Domesticity, and Ritual Wine Offering.

Cultivating in those ’blessed lands and caves of immortals’ can better achieve the unity of heaven and man, where one can ’seclude themselves to study the Dao, be benevolent and wise, and find peace within.’

Choosing to cultivate in the mortal world means facing various temptations, and the many desires in one’s heart are hard to eradicate; as a result, it’s difficult to achieve true enlightenment.

Li Ping’an couldn’t ask for a blessed land or cave of immortals, facing reality, those famous mountains and great rivers suitable for cultivation have become tourist spots, crowded with people everywhere.

Li Ping’an, whose cultivation was not high yet, needed a quiet environment to cultivate. The dormitory at school was barely sufficient for practice, but the class leader Li Tianyi, that despicable person, forced him to lose the four fundamental elements of the place.

Since he could not cultivate in the dormitory, he would not pursue his academics any longer, but rather find a quiet place suitable for serene cultivation, seeking a place undisturbed by others, free from worldly troubles, to live freely and at ease.

Having understood everything, Li Ping’an’s obsessions vanished. At this moment, he harbored neither hatred for Li Tianyi and his son nor gratitude towards them. People like them, such despicable beings, are unavoidable in the worldly realm; even if he changed schools, without Li Tianyi, there would be Wang Tianyi, Zhang Tianyi—there would always be someone who would cause trouble because you’re too outstanding.

If one speaks of cause and effect, it was the cause of entering ’Black Myth: Wukong’ that led to the later effects like prophesying the death of the anchorwoman Zhou Shufenzi, capturing ghosts at the Silver Dragon Hotel, and humiliating Li Tianyi.

If he wished to end this segment of cause and effect, then avoidance was the only option. Just as he himself said, when a dog bites a man, the man cannot bite back, and moreover, Li Tianyi and his son Li Youqing were even less than dogs. Faced with such blatant provocation, Li Ping’an ultimately chose to avoid the situation indifferently.

He indifferently looked towards Bai Long, the counselor who had always spoken on his behalf, and declared loudly:

"Brother Long, thank you, you did your best, but I think it’s unnecessary now because there are too many of these filthy things. Going to another school would be the same. But I, with my great mercy and magnanimity, have decided not to squash these filthy creatures and spare their lives."

"You motherfucker, Li Ping’an!"

Upon hearing this, class leader Li Tianyi immediately jumped up, no longer caring about losing his poise or whether Li Ping’an was worth his anger, and pointed directly at Li Ping’an’s nose and cursed:

"Who are you calling filthy creatures? You have great mercy and magnanimity? And you’re sparing our lives? Do you think it’s all over once you leave Hehuang University? Let me tell you, I won’t rest until I see you living like a dog! Everywhere is my territory, what do you have to fight me with?"

"Haha!"

Li Ping’an wasn’t angry either, understanding that there will always be some ants that delusionally try to climb onto people. He could completely understand and, looking at the furious class leader Li Tianyi, he tilted his head and threatened:

"Try pointing at me again? Don’t think I won’t abuse my power just because you are insignificant. Have you forgotten how you ran around the school like a lunatic, screaming and shouting? Do you want to give it another try?"

"You..."

Class leader Li Tianyi had managed to forget all about it after psychological therapy, but Li Ping’an’s reminder plunged him back into that nightmare.

"Hmm?"

Li Ping’an deliberately raised his hand to scare him, and it startled class leader Li Tianyi so much that he immediately dove under a desk, extremely embarrassed.

"Hahaha! Governor, this is your precious son. He’s really going places isn’t he?"

Counselor Bai Long frowned silently and closed his eyes, knowing there was no salvaging the situation. He said nothing, letting Li Ping’an run wild.

"This student of yours is truly troublesome and wicked. To be honest, I had some sympathy for you before, but now that I see, the punishment you received was too lenient."

At this moment, Li Youqing wasn’t pretending anymore, completely enraged by Li Ping’an, but still maintaining a false composure.

He said this as if he felt he was saving face, but in Li Ping’an’s eyes, these three—Governor Li Youqing, class leader Li Tianyi, and principal Leng Quanliang—were worth no more than dung beetles, just with a few legs fewer.

Li Ping’an sat on the couch, legs spread, hands propping his chin, looking around with a predatory gaze, and boldly declared:

"Bring out all of your filthy tricks, you ants!"

"..."

Class leader Li Tianyi was about to stand up and curse again but was stopped by a purple-faced Li Youqing, hot with anger. Since he had been in office, he had never been disdained, humiliated, and looked down upon by a poor kid so arrogantly.
