Chapter 487: Chapter 236 Trouble Strikes, The House is on Fire (1 update) _3

Once in the elevator, Jane Quinlan reached out, wrapped her arms around his waist, and looked up at him coquettishly, "Why are you in such a big mood?"

"Because I’m too angry. You actually sided with those two, are you out of your mind?"

Jane Quinlan pressed her lips together, "Director Turner is after all your friend."

"If he knew he was my friend, he shouldn’t have scolded you.

Is it that only the women he cares about are allowed to be cherished, but others are not allowed to care for their girlfriends?

What kind of logic is that?

If that’s the case, then I don’t need such a friend."

Jane Quinlan was extremely touched, "Is it really worth it to fall out with your own friend for me?"

Kay Forrest raised an eyebrow, "There’s nothing I can do. The Kay Forrest you’ve fallen for now is that kind of man."

She really felt that she must have burned incense in her past life to meet such a man.

In the hospital room, Oliver Turner and Lily Snow fell silent.

Kay Forrest left so angrily, Lily Snow couldn’t shake the feeling she’d caused trouble.

She looked worriedly at Oliver Turner, "Will Kay Forrest break off with you?"

Oliver Turner looked back at her. He didn’t answer her question and only said, "Don’t do this kind of thing again.

You’re a young lady, you don’t need to do these things personally."

"But... isn’t a woman more appealing if she can cook?"

"Faye doesn’t cook either, and I’ve never thought less of her because of it."

Lily Snow pouted, "So, what you’re saying is, no matter what I do, you’ll never like me?"

"That’s not what I mean, I just want to tell you... if two people are meant to be, then it doesn’t matter if you can’t do anything."

"Isn’t that the same thing? You still won’t marry me anyway."

Feeling frustrated, Lily Snow kicked her leg and lay down, pulling the blanket over herself.

"Whatever, just go. I need to rest."

Oliver Turner sighed, "Doing such things is very dangerous. What if something really happened to you today? Don’t try it again."

"Anyway, you wouldn’t care, whether something happens to me or not.

I have control over my own matters. I just want to learn to cook. Whether you like it, someone else will.

You don’t want me to change for you, but someone else will appreciate it."

Oliver Turner sighed, "Okay, how about this: whatever cuisine you want to learn, I’ll hire a chef for you.

You can learn at home with the help of the servants, how about that?"

"No need."

Lily Snow was extremely frustrated, how could he be so stubborn?

Did he not understand that what upset her wasn’t whether or not to learn cooking, but his indifference?

If he cared about her, loved her, then it wouldn’t matter if she didn’t cook.

She really liked this man, but she didn’t know what kind of woman he liked.

Not knowing made it impossible for her to change for him, even if she wanted to.

She envied Jane Quinlan and Kay Forrest so much. Even though Kay Forrest was a bit sassy, he stood by Jane, so boldly and openly... it made her envious.

Kay Forrest and Jane Quinlan returned to the house that was nearly half-burnt. They exchanged glances; it could only be described as a horrible sight.

Jane Quinlan turned to him, "Would you call this a disaster out of nowhere?"

Kay Forrest raised an eyebrow, "Yes, how could it not be."

It was indeed a major disaster; more than half of the house had been burned down.

"Go pack your important stuff and move to my place."

"What about here?"

"I’ll have someone come to clean it up.

From now on, Lily Snow is absolutely forbidden to enter here; she’s practically a walking disaster."

Jane Quinlan rolled her eyes at him, "Alright, stop talking about it. It’s all in the past now.

Besides, Miss Lily got really scared too, so don’t be mad anymore."

Kay Forrest rolled his eyes, "Fine, go pack your things. I’ll call to have someone come and clean up."

Jane Quinlan headed to the bedroom while Kay Forrest stepped aside to call and arrange for a renovation company to come fix the place anew.

Jane Quinlan looked around the room. They hadn’t lived there long before they had to say goodbye to it.

It was really... such a pity.

The bedroom itself wasn’t burned, only the kitchen and half the living room were affected.

But she couldn’t live in a house in that state, not to mention the renovation company needed to come to fix it up.

She packed up her clothes, grabbed her luggage, and went with Kay Forrest back to his place next door.

He carried her suitcase directly into his bedroom.

Jane Quinlan gazed at the spacious bed and then at Kay Forrest. For some reason, it seemed she could no longer refuse this man.

After placing her suitcase down, he walked up to her and rubbed her cheek, "Hungry? Want me to take you out for lunch?"

Jane Quinlan shook her head. She reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck, looking into his eyes with a suggestive gaze.

He swallowed hard, "Hey, I have no immunity against a look like that right now, haven’t been vaccinated."

Jane Quinlan pressed her lips against his; Kay Forrest gasped and deepened the kiss, turning from passive to active.

Both their breaths grew ragged; his lips slid to her ear, his voice gentle, "No, Jane Quinlan, I can’t wait any longer, I want to..."

Jane Quinlan said nothing, only holding him tightly.

This silent consent sent his desire skyrocketing off the charts.

What’s that saying? Every cloud has a silver lining?

In exchange for a burnt little house, he gained a woman; worth it.

He lifted her up and carried her straight into the bedroom...
