Chapter 477: Chapter 232 Meat at the Mouth Yet Uneaten (2 more)

Jane Quinlan could tell by his predatory gaze that he had something in mind.

Before she could protest, he had already placed her on the sofa.

He squatted beside her, staring at her with hazy eyes, gently caressing her cheek.

"That... Kay Forrest, we..."

Kay Forrest flipped over and pressed her beneath him, cutting her off with a stifled groan.

Jane Quinlan felt like her insides were in utter chaos.

She wondered how this impatient man, who guarded her every day, managed to restrain himself.

They had even shared a bed more than once before.

Yet he’d done nothing, even seeming to disdain her at times.

Moreover, because he’d done nothing back then, she had thought he wasn’t interested in her, which annoyed her to no end.

Is this the normal progression of a romantic relationship?

Aren’t you supposed to date after establishing the relationship, have dinner together, watch movies, take walks, hold hands, and then... only consider this step last?

Are they now skipping all the steps and going straight to the last?

Is it that she’s too old-fashioned, or is he too progressive?

"What’s wrong?" Kay Forrest asked, looking at her current state and his eyes filling with even more desire.

Jane Quinlan thought it would be better to make things clear now that they had started.

She didn’t want to force herself just to keep Kay Forrest around.

After all, there are some things she just couldn’t do at the moment.

"Kay Forrest, this isn’t right."

Kay Forrest gulped, "So, are you telling me that even with the gun loaded, it’s useless because it can’t be fired?"

Jane Quinlan bit her lip, unwilling to meet his eyes, "I... I’ve been confused all day, and I still haven’t snapped out of it.

Your pace is just too fast, I feel like I can’t keep up with your rhythm at all."

"Hey, that’s not what I mean."

Jane Quinlan’s face grew even redder; could this guy not be so blunt in his speech?

He’s utterly infuriating.

"Stop beating around the bush and just say it. What do you mean?" Right now, his mind was on nothing else but to take her to bed and make sure she sleeps soundly.

Jane Quinlan bit her lip, "Actually... I’m quite traditional. In my heart, dating should be done step by step."

After Jane Quinlan spoke, Kay Forrest suddenly chuckled, thinking her an old-fashioned girl.

She lay beneath him, looking up at him, and at this moment, she truly thought he was damn handsome.

Such a good-looking man was her boyfriend.

Her heart felt a complex mix of emotions.

He took a deep breath and got off her, "I can’t deal with you. Alright, I’ll give you a pass for that explanation."

He got up and headed to the bathroom.

Jane Quinlan suddenly reached out to grasp his wrist, "Are you angry?"

"If I say I’m angry, will you let me continue?" He raised an eyebrow.

Jane Quinlan shook her head, "No, I would try to comfort you and make you not angry because if you get angry, I won’t change anyway."

Kay Forrest nodded, "So, I’m not angry."

He lifted his right hand, "I’ve got to release the desire somehow, right? Otherwise, I won’t even have the appetite for dinner."

He said this and then rubbed her cheek, "Go on, get cooking in the kitchen. Make plenty to make up for it."

Jane Quinlan blushed and released his hand, retreating into the kitchen.

She truly felt mortified; Kay Forrest always spoke so bluntly, not shying away from such topics in front of her.

It would be strange if she didn’t feel embarrassed.

But no matter, she couldn’t control him anyway.

Kay Forrest stayed in the bathroom for quite some time.

He really felt like he had reformed; otherwise, how could he have resisted her?

Wait, was he recently getting led around by the nose by this young lady?

He had always known the term ’to cherish the fairer sex,’ but never practiced it.

Yet today, he let go of his girlfriend, whom he could have rightfully taken.

The thing is... this is the first girlfriend he’s had that’s officially recognized in his life.

He can’t even partake in his girlfriend’s flesh... how pitiful.

Sigh, looking down at his hand, is dating really supposed to be this complicated?

When he came out, Jane Quinlan had already stir-fried tomatoes and eggs, working on the second dish.

Kay Forrest went back to his room to change his clothes, then made a call to Faye Townsend.

Faye Townsend was out traveling and enjoying a vacation with Hunter Warren today.

Lately, those two seemed to be living quite leisurely.

When he returned, three dishes and a soup were ready.

Seeing that he threw his phone on the sofa, Jane Quinlan called out to him, "Dinner is ready."
