Chapter 421: Chapter 216 What Is Our Relationship Now?

Kay Forrest stared at her, his eyes brimming with sincerity, "Have you seen through me just like that?"

Jane Quinlan gulped nervously and looked at him, "Hey... you you you..."

"What ’you you’? You didn’t seriously think I would say that to you, did you?

Tch, I’m nice to every woman.

So don’t get carried away, alright?"

Jane’s face flushed with embarrassment; she had actually taken him seriously just now.

Her behavior just moments ago was... utterly humiliating.

"That’s good then, because you’re not at all my type."

Having said that, she stepped forward, grabbed him, and pulled him up, "Hurry back to your own room and stop bothering me here."

Kay was yanked to his feet abruptly, and with a hiss, he looked up at her, "Are you really a woman? How can you be stronger than an ox?"

Jane rolled her eyes at him and managed to drag him off the bed.

Being treated by a woman in such a manner was a first for Kay, and it wasn’t until he was pushed outside the door that he suddenly realized what had happened.

Shut out and tossed out like a chicken... Damn, am I being rejected here?

I didn’t say anything wrong just now, did I?

Tch, totally ridiculous.

The next day, Kay Forrest knocked on her door to mooch for breakfast, but Jane Quinlan didn’t bother to make any.

Seeing that Jane was already prepared to go to work, he asked in perplexity, "Aren’t you going to eat breakfast?"

"I’m on a diet."

"But I’m not dieting," he patted his stomach, "I’m hungry."

"Do I look like your mother? If you’re hungry, can’t you find something to eat yourself?"

She pushed him out the door once more, and Kay hissed. This woman, she must be on her period, such a hot temper.

He changed his clothes and went downstairs, intending to drive to Seaton Avenue for breakfast, when he coincidentally ran into her leaving for work.

He honked the horn, "You’re going to work so early today?"

"Is there a problem?"

"I’m happy you love your job, but you don’t need to try so hard. I’m not going to give you a raise."

Jane rolled her eyes and continued on her own way.

He honked the horn again, "It’s perfect, we’re heading the same way. Get in, I’ll give you a lift."

"No need." She slowly walked toward the bus stop.

Kay’s car paused at the bus stop for a moment, and when he saw she truly wasn’t getting in, he pressed the gas pedal and left for breakfast.

After Kay’s car drove away, Jane Quinlan let out a sigh of relief.

Last night, she lay in bed thinking for a long time.

Kay Forrest was her boss, not her friend.

Being so close to him, and with him being so outstanding, it would be hard to ensure she wouldn’t be attracted.

Kay’s family must be well-off; she wasn’t his type.

So if one day she accidentally fell for him, she would surely be in a lot of pain.

It’s better to avoid the wrong path in advance than regret it when it’s time to avoid it.

That way... at least she won’t get hurt.

She heaved a deep sigh, her mind wandering, when Kay’s car suddenly came back.

His car stopped firmly in front of her.

While Jane was wondering why he had returned, he had already gotten out of the car and came up to her.

In front of everyone’s gaze, he opened the passenger door and pulled her by the arm, stuffing her into the seat.

Jane wanted to resist at first, but considering the many onlookers and people snapping photos of his car, she reluctantly covered her face with her bag and sat down quietly.

After Kay got into the car and drove off, and they were on the road, she removed her bag, "What are you doing?"

"Inviting you to have breakfast with me."

"I’ve already told you I’m on a diet."

Kay gave her a glance, "That won’t do. I can’t eat alone without any appetite."

"So, you get an appetite when I’m with you?"

"Hasn’t anyone told you? You look really appetizing when you eat."

Jane clenched her teeth speechlessly, was that a compliment or... never mind, she couldn’t be bothered with him.

He didn’t talk much on the way, and he parked in front of Lucky Club on Seaton Avenue.

Jane glanced askance, "Their breakfast is so dreadful, why do you come here again?"

"In the whole of Anchester, only their breakfast suits my tastes," he said, then unfastened his seatbelt and got out of the car.

She followed him inside somewhat helplessly.

He ordered two Set C meals for them, but she waved him off, "I’m not eating. I’m just accompanying you, let’s hurry up and leave after you’re done."

Kay ignored her, instructing the waiter to proceed as ordered.

Before long, the waiter brought the meal.

He asked her to eat, but she really didn’t touch a bite, not even picking up the chopsticks.

He asked curiously, "What’s up with you today?"

"Nothing at all."
