Chapter 399: Chapter 209 Kay Forrest, Can You Be More Serious?_3
Of course, it’s best if you don’t use other people’s receipts for reimbursement.
I’m someone who loves to see beautiful things. I hope all my employees can dress beautifully.
In five days, I want to see changes in every colleague."
A bunch of employees were overjoyed, except for Jane Quinlan who pouted unhappily.
She had planned to find some receipts for reimbursement. This guy is really crafty.
After he finished speaking, he smirked, "Alright, that’s it for the meeting. Dismissed."
Back in the office, Daisy Zenith dragged her to go shopping for clothes after work.
With so much money, it’s only logical to buy clothes. After thinking it over, she nodded, "Alright."
"Oh my God, why the long face? This is such a happy event.
The new boss has given such a big perk. Come on, smile. Otherwise, I’ll think something’s wrong with you."
"Don’t you think this is the new boss looking down on us?"
"Not at all! If this is looking down, I hope the new boss does it every month. That would be amazing."
Jane Quinlan shook her head, hopeless.
Around five o’clock, Kay Forrest called Jane Quinlan into the office through the intercom.
Jane Quinlan didn’t know what for, so she took her notebook and walked over to him.
"Director Forrest, you called for me."
Kay Forrest put down the document in his hand and said, "You’ll need to work overtime with me later and come with me somewhere."
"Very late?"
"Why, do you have plans?"
"No, but Daisy asked me to go shopping with her."
Kay Forrest chuckled, "Then just cancel on her."
When Jane Quinlan went out to tell Daisy that she had to work overtime, Daisy looked at her with envy.
"You’re lucky to work overtime with the boss."
Jane Quinlan suddenly felt that ever since the new boss came, Daisy’s worldview had been completely overturned.
Before, at the mere mention of overtime, Daisy Zenith would go crazy.
But now she’s actually envious of her?
Should she give this ’enviable’ opportunity to Daisy Zenith?
Unbelievable.
As closing time came, everyone gradually left.
In the end, only Jane Quinlan was left in the office.
Kay Forrest came out of the office, stylishly draping his jacket over his shoulder with one finger as he approached her desk, "Let’s go."
Jane Quinlan packed her bag and followed him out.
Once in the car, she asked, "Director Forrest, where are we going?"
"Director Forrest?" He turned to look at her, feeling awkward with how she addressed him.
Despite thinking ’Kay Kay’ sounded a bit rustic, it was certainly better than Director Forrest.
At least it felt personable.
"What is it?"
Kay Forrest rolled his eyes at her, started the car, and drove off.
He brought her to the entrance of a restaurant.
Before entering, Jane Quinlan babbled behind him, "Do we have a social event tonight?
Will you make me drink? But I can’t handle alcohol.
Does being an assistant mean I must attend social events with the boss?"
Kay Forrest laughed wryly, "Do you always talk this much?"
"What’s the matter?"
"No wonder you have no friends. With your constant chatter, any friends would be scared away."
He extended his long arm and put it around her shoulders, "It’s not a social event. I’m just having dinner with you."
"Huh?" Jane Quinlan was taken aback, "But you said we were working overtime."
"I did work a little overtime earlier. Just wanted you to wait a bit."
She puzzled over it, "Why do you need me to have dinner with you?"
"What do you think? Eating alone is pretty lonely.
We’re both eating alone anyway, so why not make it a little livelier."
Jane Quinlan was speechless, "Hey, Mr. Big Boss, you might be having fun, but by the time I finish and head back, it will be so late, and I have to take a bus for an hour and a half, you know."
"What’s there to be afraid of," Kay Forrest scanned her up and down.
She initially thought he was going to say ’I’ll drop you off.’
Instead, he shamelessly said, "With how tough you are, no one will dare bother you even if you’re out late."
"Hey," she shouted at him in the restaurant, successfully attracting many people’s attention.
It’s not her fault for being rude. This man just had a way of making her want to tear him to pieces.
"Why are you shouting? Didn’t your classmate Adriana Golden say you were a tough girl?"
Jane Quinlan glared, "Have you ever seen a ’tough girl’ with a figure like mine?"
As she spoke, she patted her chest.
Kay Forrest raised an eyebrow, staring at her chest.
She felt something was off and quickly covered her chest, "What are you looking at?"
"Indeed, the figure is quite nice. No need to cover it; it’s not like it’s my first time seeing it."
